Review Time
When I got Sky Q all our freeview was deactivated. Weather conditions in Wales (UK) are not always great. When weather is poor our Sky Q doesnt work properly. I have had freeview restored and that works well. We are keeping Sky Q for when weather is good.
A few weeks ago I phoned Sky to get an updated broadband router. Afterwards I was talked into upgrading my Sky+HD to Sky Q with Netflix thrown in free. All for the same price as I was already paying. It sounded too good to be true. Unfortunately it was.I had nothing but problems with the remote control; it was small and so difficult to use.The layout of the buttons seemed randomised and so small. I kept pressing the button for the (unwanted and useless) apps by mistake, and had to use both hands much of the time. Even to go from TV to recordings was difficult. Having to scroll up and down through the alphabet to search for a program was long-winded. After a few weeks of this I ended up really annoyed that I’d been sold this rubbish.I emailed Sky, informing them of my problems using Sky Q, and after making my feelings well and truly known about it, I had a Sky engineer to my house to reinstall Sky+HD.I later found that Netflix wasn’t free at all. Just after I had Sky+HD restored, I had an email from Netflix, asking me to set up payment details!I phoned them, and told them that Sky had told me Netflix was free with Sky Q. As I no longer have Sky Q, I don’t have Netflix.I never used it anyway, during my short skirmish with Sky Q. But what a cheek - Sky telling me Netflix was free when it wasn’t!
Don't go go with sky q box it dose not work and only reason I say that is because I have had a sky q box but not there Internet I had a different Internet provider but the sky q box won't not stay connected but sky could not be asked to fix it and kept telling me to deal with it in the end they got fed up with me calling them all the time about it they ended my sky subscription so people please stay away from sky they only want you for your money
AVOID SKY BROADBAND AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!We have never been let down by a company like we have by SKY. Huge outage over christmas only to be told "we are within our contract"I informed them i was leaving, without notice they simply chopped the service a week early. they stated only only way they can turn it back on was to restart a new contract.....
Having been a happy sky customer for 20 years I moved house a d changes to Sky Q. Don't if you have sky stick to wired. Sky Q chews up all your broadband, it's laggy, if you had multi room you can only run two mini boxes. They've drilled 3 holes in my walls with booster boxes trying to make it work. It doesn't, whatever halfwit executive that decided to discontinue a working system and replace it with one that doesn't work in a house with more than 3 bedrooms needs the sack.I think if you are in a 2/3 person house it might be okay but anything more stay well clear.
If i could give zero stars I would! Customer sevice shocking. Paying for full sevice on Sky Q but still dont have channels.. no response to complaints.. said will call back and sort but havent .. paying for a service I cant access.. I was warned their customer service was awful but i ignored.. more fool me!
an"expert" arrived because my broadband kept dropping, moved a booster about, and conned ,ne into having Sky Q. What a load of rubbish,I cant record "old" series,my remote has to be reset every time I try to use it, it doesnt recognise my10 month old Hi sense TV,and whats more I now cannot access Teletext all in all I feel I have been conned, I asked them to remove it via their facebook page, as it was still within the 14 day cooling off period "oh you,ll have to go through this department".As far as I am concerned I have asked for it to be removed??and STILL no answer. I am 79, I,m not happy wiyj Sky Q, and I want it removed >>I cannot get through to anyone on Sky, and as usual with Sky, I feel ignored
20 yrs with Sky. Q box hard drive failed but they cannot replace for 9 days. Just taken out 2 mobile phones with them and they cocked up my email account of 12 years so it no longer works. Remote has mind of its own like we have a poltergeist, pretty sure it is just crappy remote. They try to avoid you actually phoning them and it takes a min of 4 mins to get through if you know what you are doing. Super fast broadband ain't and wifi signal is rubbish. Trouble is who is better? Virgin?? heard loads of bad about them too. I might just downgrade package to min with sport. I spend £150 per month so expect more!
