OMG what a mistake. Was told by SKY I had to upgrade to the Q as they were discontinuing the HD box!! Have the techies gone mad?You need a computer degree to operate this stupid system. If you have poor eye site, then no chance using this box. The menus difficult to find, and it's all blue and white so can't see what you are actually looking at. There's no easy blocks to see the various menus, and recordings are just as hard to see. The remote is driving me mad keep accidentally leaving menus!! What the hell SKY I have been with them years, but end of the line for me after my 18 months with this piece of crap tech. It's as if it's been made by young kids, who have no idea of user friendly.Don't be bullied into a Q box keep the HD as long as possible or just dump sky altogether as I am.
Worse thing we did was accept their offer of an upgrade from our old box to sky q. We don’t go a month without having to reboot the system as it says we have no satellite signal. Has been checked by Sky engineer and the satellite installers. Nothing wrong there. If only I could I’d have my old box back.As for the menu, I can no longer set a reminder for a programme. It’s an automatic record that I don’t always want. I now have to remember the next programme I want to watch.
Absolutely terrible. It's desperately hard to do really simple things like changing channels. The menu is difficult to read. The whole thing is incredibly user unfriendly. It's just not worth all the difficulties trying to do basic things for the advantage of recording extra channels. Why did they do this??? The old HD version was easy use and the design was great. They should have kept the old design while allowing extra recordings.
Decided to go with sky Q as I thought it would be more up to date and quicker. Big mistake! Very clumsy UI remote is plasticky and not user friendly at all. Difficult to navigate through recordings and programmes. All in all not a good experience so wish I'd stayed with sky HD. The only plus point is it comes with Netflix!
I have been using Sky Q for over a year now and I can honestly say I wish I had not been persuaded to switch to Sky Q.It is utter garbage, recordings disappear before you’ve had a chance to view them. The series links disconnect every time the system needs a reboot which is extremely often.Navigating through the recordings is sooo slow and clunky it’s like comparing an abacus with the latest supercomputer. The menu still cannot order the programmes correctly.I am paying for channels I don’t use despite me trying to contact Sky to remove them.If the recordings are due to be deleted you cannot physically record them like you can on HD. This was definitely not explained to me at the time of installation.If you are currently on Sky HD then stick with it because SkyQ is a retrograde step rather than an upgrade.I am so disappointed that if I could give zero stars I would.
Sky Q boxes had an underlying networking issue with BT routers!Sky are well aware of this and their engineers seem to be pretty incompetent to redesign their hardware/software.They probably employ cheap, useless engineers who aren't qualified to work on the newest technologies?Sky should be informing potential customers of this issue and stop ripping people off! Thieves!If everyone emailed the Sky CEO and flood her email box then she might decide to sort this mess out. The buck stops at the top and that's the CEO
Absolute utter joke. Sky q boxes keep losing connectivity and also forgets the password for internet so you have to scroll one character at a time through a list to enter alphanumerica. Youve done all that. Then it goes again.Then theres the support line, which should be renamed the 'cardiac arrest' line because by the end of all the navigation issues, you get a representative who doesnt understand how to connect an account with an address. Reps are repeatedly told to service one location with an engineer and go to another location.Engineers are good though but..everything else is utter garbage.
Because 0 is not an option. Delivery has not occurred and it’s now 48 hours no internet at my house. The agent was supposed to call 22 minutes ago and help guide with the installation. This Sky is rubbish a rip off! My old sister was removed by their tec who didn’t even finish the job! Absolutely do not purchase this Sky internet . Soon I will get rid of my sky cable as well which is also garbage. The remote is also horrible. Way to go Sky for ruining my summer vacation!
