Have been a subscriber to Sky since the days when it was known as BSkyB when the monthly subs were around £12 if I recall. But year on year increase brought it up to £40pm in 2022/23, and this did not include sports or movies. In February I received notification of an increase of £3pm. Crafty this, they don't tell you what you will be paying in total. This was going to be a 7.5% increase wef 01/04/23, yet my pension has not increased by anything like 7.5%. So on 26/02/23 I followed the Sky rules and gave 31 days notice of cancellation. Well actually in excess of 31 days. I allowed the £40 payment to be made on 01/03/23 and advised that cancellation should take place on 31/03/23. I cancelled the DD after the March payment was made. Sky sent an email acknowledging the cancellation notice and saying I would be contacted within 24 hours, and that my custom was valued, blah, blah, blah. I had by now decided that all the programmes I watch are available on Freeview, so with the exception of Gold I would not be missing anything. Nobody contacted me, but I did receive a letter dated 16th. March asking me to set up a new DD and that if I didn't my account would incur a £10 late payment fee !!! I responded and copied my acknowledged cancellation email to Sky. No response. Then received a Sky letter dated 02/04/23 advising of £43 being overdue, but didn't waste my time responding this time. Sky continued to be available until 17/04/23 when only the Freeview channels became available. And my point is simply this. How disappointing that having been with Sky for so long nobody had the courtesy to contact me and even try to convince me to stay, even though my mind was made up to leave and my finances would be £43pm better off. Not good customer service.

Just had an install of Sky q

Just had an install of Sky q. Wish I'd read these reviews first! I agree with all! I think I'm pretty au fait with computers/internet until I ordered a Sky q installation. I've just rung Sky Scotland for the third time pleading that they take it out to the nearest refuse site. They have offered to send an engineer-if one ever comes I'll ask him to reinstall the old box!

Left Sky at the beginning of November…

Left Sky at the beginning of November and gave my months notice as out of contract. Paid December as expected as 30 days notice, then come 1st Jan charged a full months rental again. Account now says £55 in credit now the end of March and still sat in Skys account and fighting to get the money back. AVOID and have reported to OFCOM. They are like the dumped girlfriend who won`t go away!!!

CRAP

Every night my upstairs box don’t work for more than 10 mins. Downstairs yes but upstairs NO !!!! Do sky every read these reviews? Are there any humans that work at sky to talk to? I will leave a review every time my box isn’t working. Maybe it would be a good idea to call ya customers back.

Disaster - dreadful system

Disaster - we have battled on for months with the worst TV system ever (SkyQ) - must have been designed by someone who doesn't watch TV or at least never records anything. We have given up and tried to downgrade to Sky+ but to no avail - they don't make the boxes anymore.Absolutley dreadful system - certainly not an "upgrade!!"

DON'T DO IT

I was persuaded to change from SKY HD+ to SKY Q when I moved house. Oh boy, what a mistake that was. It took 10 days to work out how to view a programme series as nothing is in any order. My husband has given up trying to navigate the menu as he can barely see it now, white on blue, really!!!!! I oh so wish I had seen these reviews before agreeing to change. I did call SKY to try and change back to the HD+ but was told no. When I told a friend that I was now on Q, I was told 'good luck'. Enough said.

New Sky Remote is totally the worst remote I've ever used

I have just graded my Sky. I WISH THAT I HADN'T. it is totally un user friendly and the when you come to use the remote control it is a small remote which is totally un-ergonomic. The most used buttons are all in the wrong place. Seriously thinking about cancelling my sky. The upgraded sky is 10 times worse than the original. What are Sky doing? Obviously no thought has gone into the design on the upgraded remote

SkyQ is the worst tv system i have ever…

SkyQ is the worst tv system i have ever had the misfortune to pay for. The sky mini boxes loose signal daily, have picture and sound faults constantly, you will spend your time turning boxes on and off daily, trying to reconnect your mini boxes, even when they are connected you dont get UHD even though you pay for it, all mini boxes share recording with 1 main q box, so recordings are a mess, and the user interface sucks.Don't do it, sky has really gone down hill, using an amazon firestick with iptv is a smoother and easier more reliable way to watch TV than getting skyQ. Virgin now follow this model, no more tivo, crappy mini boxes but each has its own cable so no signal issues like sky!
