Poor quality. I did get them to replace the batteries that would not hold a charge. They sent me a replacement vest since the one I purchased ended up getting a burn mark from the heating element. I messaged again because now the zipper broke and they told me I was outside of the 30 day warranty. I explained to them that this was the replacement vest that broke and they said too bad you are outside of the 30 day warranty. I would suggest you save your money and find a company that warrants their products longer than 30 days. I missed the warranty period in the fine print apparently.
I purchased a heated vest from Solana and after wearing it 5 times (it was 2 months old) the seam next to where the battery pocket is separated and exposed all of the wiring inside the vest. Closer look revealed a defective sewing job along the seam.
When I contacted customer service at Solana they assumed I had somehow damaged the vest despite my description of its use of standing and light walking. They refused to consider their product was defective or they didn’t care if it was. Solana offered a 15% refund on the vest ($8) for me to take it to a tailor for repair which is unrealistic, costly and inconvenient. Solana also acknowledged the vest was not safe to wear without being repaired. Solana said it was no longer under their 30 day warranty for a replacement. There are many other companies out there that sell similar products with higher quality items and better customer service and I suggest using them instead of Solana.
Never before have I been treated so well by Customer Service as I was with Solana Gear. My vest arrived but did not fit. In addition, I had troubles getting it to heat. Over a few days, I had several written communications with the staff. Their responses were immediate and very well written. Responders answered me promptly (even on weekends) with clarity and kindness. As a former English professor, I cannot help but notice the quality of writing skills. My problems were solved quickly and accurately, and I am grateful for the service I received. since I mostly communicated with Chris, I must mention him by name.
I cannot end my comment without mentioning the following: Luckily, my vest arrived at my home in Maine before storm Fern did, with temperatures below freezing, plus high winds. Thus, I got to try out the vest, not only outside in 4 degrees, but also inside when I lost I my heat for several hour. The vest worked well in both places.
The product just looked very cheap and felt the same on. The fit wasn't right for anyone in my family. I was so excited about finally getting a good heated vest. I even bought 4 as I was tempted by the "savings". Everything about the product was cheap, including the zipper. I then reached out to return the vests, as it says 100% refund. I then found out that I have to pay for shipping and it can only be sent back by USPS. I paid $30 in shipping. Then when they refunded my money, I was not paid back the full amount as $10.49 was the amount I paid for them to ship the products to me in the first place. So, I wasted $40 to find out that these vested were definitely not worth the money or even the 50% discount they offered me to keep the product. DO NOT BUY!!!!
I bought two vests and two batteries, but one vest was non-functional and the quality was lacking. I decided not to open the second vest and returned both. That's where the frustrations began. (Each number below represents a separate email)
1. When I asked about returning, they offered me 15% off to keep the vests, but I insisted on a refund due to the defective item.
2. They then proposed 30% off if I kept them, which I also turned down, reiterating my request for a full refund.
3. I had to pay for the return shipping despite one vest being faulty.
4. I was required to track the return and inform them upon receipt.
5. I confirmed the return of the vests and batteries multiple times.
6. Another representative inquired if both vests were sent back.
7. Yet another asked if the batteries were included with the vests. The same questions kept coming up, and I repeatedly confirmed and requested my refund. All the communication was through separate emails, one each day, dragging the process over two weeks with no resolution in sight. Eventually, I found a phone number and expressed my frustrations, and three days later, I got my refund. I’ll never engage with this service again. I still feel they owe me for the shipping costs of returning a non-working vest. UPDATE: According to their response, they have at least ten emails from me with all my contact details. If they genuinely wanted to refund my shipping for the defective vest, they already have all the necessary information. Just more wasted time I refuse to be a part of.
I ordered an XL but received a SMALL instead. After contacting them, I was offered a discount if I kept the first one. I decided to reorder the XL, which fits perfectly, but I wasn't aware that batteries were needed. I don’t recall seeing any mention of a battery pack in the advertisement. It would have been helpful to know that, especially since I have specific health needs. However, I was very pleased with the quick responses from their support team throughout our conversations.
They suggested that purchasing the 'extra' battery was unnecessary. Naturally, it doesn't function without the battery, so I had to return to buy three of them. I was charged two different prices, all of which were higher than the original cost! This pricing feels very dishonest!
I did not receive the items from my initial order placed in early December. The order was immediately put on hold due to a significant error with the size listed for one of the two vests. This issue was never corrected, and the order was never processed. However, the charge still appears on my PayPal account. I placed a second order for a single vest and battery, which I received on December 23. No issues there, and it remains unused as it is a gift for the holidays. I would like a refund for the cost of the original order for two vests and batteries to be processed to my PayPal account.
If I had the option, I would rate them lower than one star. Their attitude is rude and unapproachable, and they seem uninterested in resolving issues. I ordered a vest for my son as a Christmas gift, which was marked as delivered but never arrived. When I reached out for assistance, they suggested I contact my post office instead of offering help. Truly frustrating experience.
