Had an eye test in August 2023. Given 2 prescriptions for reading and driving glasses. You do not get out of the store without buying glasses, spent over £220. Never got on with the glasses, I could see better without. Just had another eye test, elsewhere. I do not need driving glasses. Reading is also good, I have a prescription if required. No pressure to buy any glasses unless I think I need them. Do not use Specsavers in Cleveleys. Rip off.
Always trying to upsell and make more money from you! Every time! Soo annoying! Trying to charge an extra €90 for thinner lenses, so that the glasses will be better quality! Says alot for them standing over the quality of their products! Are they not fit for purpose without this?Update, 5 days later:I sent a dm on Instagram to Specsavers 5 days ago in response to your reply, and there was zero response! No surprise there!
Based on their advert I booked for consultation and was prescribed for two pair of glasses to collect a week later. Before collection I was allowed to try and one pair was totally frustrated me. The person who looked after me tried to fix the lens problem by readjusting the frame which did not work. To fix the problem I was required to book again the following week (Weeks never end). I returned two pairs of glasses and walked out. Too many unnecessary procedures, multi people who you deal with there. They keep you there for long unnecessarily. I will never ever do business again with the Specsavers.
Very disappointed with their service... Bought a pair of glasses in march: i went for the 130e frame, two for one but it didn't matter : they have a way of adding to the price of the glasses and you still end up paying around 400 euro... It is almost like a scam... You never pay only what is advertised... But to make thinks worse, i went back twice with the frames to be adjusted as the quality is poor...and eventually the frame snapped in two recently. I went back to the shop to see what options I have and I was told it will cost me 70euro to replace the frame and the guy accused me of using excessive force that's caused the frame to snap in two... I still have all my previous frames in excellent condition ( about five of them) so i can only say the frames are poor quality and that's why have snapped... I would certainly look for a another optician and I would not recommend specsavers to anyone... @ I pleaded with your sale rep to help me fix this problem or I'll go public about it... Now you can say here anything you want to say ... But it is a shame that a genuine customer has to go public to get your attention...
Unbelievable they are new glasses only 5 months old been back twice so far the latest is glass frame broken told by a rude staff member it’s my fault? Asked for manager he said same due to a little mark on glass ? Am sorry but glass can get marks on it I think the frames are bad material looking into the small claims court, the shop is too small you have no privacy at all (never again going to them carlow ) full stop as I said looking into small claims court
I have had nothing but an extremely professional and positive experience with Specsavers in Galway Knocknacarra. Brian Mc Namara has been very thorough dealing with my detailed eye history and all staff that I have met there have been very professional in carrying out their duties and most of all precise and helpful in their recommendations for next steps. I met with Shona today & felt very reassured by her recommendations.
I came to Specsavers to get both distance and working glasses. My first impression was great — a nice range of frames, friendly assistants, and reasonable prices. But when I collected my glasses, something felt off. I couldn’t wear them for more than five minutes. When I went back to the doctor, I was told that “the glasses were perfect but my brain was too surprised to adjust to new reality.” The doctor agreed to make them a bit “less perfect.”Round two: the distance glasses were fine, but the working pair had distance lenses by mistake. Round three still didn’t work — I couldn’t see my computer screen clearly. I asked for another doctor’s opinion, but met the same one again, who said the glasses were perfect and “the new glasses are just a little bit stronger and that’s can’t make any difference.” Now they claimed the problem was the frame.I tried one more time with a new frame, but round four was even worse. I called, hoping to speak to a supervisor, but no one ever called me back. After months of waiting and a few hundred euros spent, I’m giving up and going elsewhere. A really disappointing experience after what started so well. I should have read all those reviews before going to them in the first place!
Last November purchased glasses from shop in question, glasses was such poor quality that had to go back on few occasions to get them fixed, and on one this visit member of staff offered me deal, if next time glasses breaks he will give me a deal on the next pair 50% discount, so I thought very decent from specsavers looking after customers, but as I later find out that is not the case, is only marketing tactics to get you to buy new pair of glasses. Anyway I comeback last Saturday to get glasses fixed or to use deal offer to buy new glasses, so as we all know, specsavers has always deal buy one get one free, and what happened I ended pay 50% less but I only getting half of the deal also. One pair only. In this case 50% discount became a con job, and total dishonest practice on behalf of specsavers.
