They went out of their way to avoid the warranty claim on a chromebook we had. We had purchased 50 chromebooks thru Amazon and when there was 3 weeks left of the warranty period, they decided that they needed various amounts of proof of purchase despite fulfilling several other claims during the 3 year period. They wanted copies of checks showing they were paid for, proof we had received the product (which we had to send them photos to prove there was no external damage, so if we could take photos we clearly had received them), we sent them our Amazon invoices, not good enough. We sent them the proof from our bank of the check payment, not good enough. They ended up forcing us to contact Amazon to get a copy of the actual check we sent almost 3 years ago to send as proof of payment. They also wanted proof we received the chromebooks, despite us having sent them photos of the chromebooks, so we clearly had them. We ended up having the dig up shipping receipts from almost 3 years ago to prove we received them. we are awaiting now to see if that is good enough. There 1 week left on the warranty. Clearly they are trying to run out the clock. Find another warranty source. Square Trade is by far the most difficult to make a claim and the least likely to honor the warranty.UPDATE: They informed us by email that they needed proof of purchase, despite the fact that we have now sent them a copy of our bank statement showing the check had cleared, and contacting amazon and getting a copy of the actual check. They clearly have no intention of honoring this claim no matter what proof we send them. AVOID SQUARE TRADE.
I reported an issue with an item trying first online. I wasn’t aware that the computer put the wrong date and called square trade immediately. What I thought was a resolution after speaking with a representative that helped me. About a week later I received an email requesting the same information that was given on the day the claim was processed. I submitted the information again and told it will be a few days. I received an email today stating the claim is denied due to reporting late which was explained on the day the phone claimed happen. I could have taken the claim to a lawyer due to my child laying down and the bed collapsed with him in it but I chose to use the insurance I paid for to get coverage. DIDNT happen. I spoke with 2 supervisors and finally told the accounting department handles the claims and they don’t speak with customers. This is such a shame.REPLY They try to cover up by offering give me a refund on the protection plan not to repair the issue. This is how big companies rip off smaller people. They dont do good on there practices of service. You are never able to go hire than the service reps as upper management hides. What happened to customer service everything is prepared and prerecorded
The first customer service rep insisted that I take my TV off the wall to read the numbers although I had already given him the model number. After a lot of trouble to get the tV down (I have an injury and live alone), it was confirmed that the number I had given him and the number on the back of the tv were the same. Fast forward, I get an offer for a TV that was 10 inches smaller than the one I insured, although Walmart has the same TV for the same price that I paid. The customer service person assured me that I received the correct offer. I opted for a cash payout equal to the original amount paid, minus taxes. I have been waiting on said check for nearly 15 days. When I called to ask about the check, my only option was to have Allstate cancel the check and reissue another one. There should be a way for them to refund this electronically. When
Bought a food vacuum sealer 2 years ago. Also added the protection plan. The sealer stopped working. They offered to repair it, but I asked to be issued a check so I could buy another one.They wanted it sent in in order to receive a check. They claimed they sent a shipping label to my email. I never received it. Then they claimed the label was undeliverable to my email address. But I get any other correspondence from them just fine.All they do is give you the run around!! I won't buy another plan from them. Save your money!!!!
The fact you told me to go buy a new item knowing a new insurance plan would get purchased then barely gave me the amount before tax shorting me yeah just a few bucks but thats shady and i will no longer purchase any more plans in the future and will encourage others not to as well
Worst experience ever. Do not buy any protection plans from this company. I have spent many hours on the phone, on the chat and they refuse to help. No way they will ever talk to you. First they said it was covered under the manufactures warranty, then I had to call the manufactures, and get and e-mail from them stating that they would not covered it. The log in page never works, the chat takes sooo long to answer and they don't help you at all. After 3 weeks of fighting with them, now they want me to log in to finish setting up the claim, They website has never let me log it, It always says my password does not match. after being on the chat for 1 hour. the rep. said let me finish the claim for you!. he said I could take the item to get it fixed, pay myself for it and then get reimbursed.
