Review Time
They will screw you when it comes time to pay out. It's been over 3 weeks since they got the car and an external assessment that it was written off and its value. They still haven't assigned an internal assessor to review it yet. I talked to others and they said when it comes to paying out, Suncorp Insurance is the slowest. I've lodged 3 complaints, and it is marked as ultra high priority, for over a week, but still no action. If you have an accident, expect them not to pay you for at least a month. If you only have one car and can't afford to just buy a second car with spare cash, you will be f###ed..That is how they treat their loyal customers.
Awful customer experienceAwful customer experience. Spent ages trying to register the card on-line and then using the phone banking system. Absolutely awful an extremely long mean system to get through to the call centre. Once the problem was identified (the card was allocated to a parallel account) they put me through to customer service. After waiting on the phone for an extraordinary period of time the call disconnected immediately someone came on the line. I then had to go through the whole menu system again. Finally the problem was identified and I was told that they would escalate the matter to a resolution but despite saying that it would be done so urgently they said 5 business days
Had an accident in January had to wait 2 months before they were able to have my car in to repair it. When repairs finally got done on my 4x4 through their repairer had to drive the car over an hour away to have it done and they left bolts loose on bullbar, stripped screws in places so I couldn’t remove accessories and wires cut and not reconnected leaving my spotlights no longer working. If you have a four wheel drive with accessories do not let them repair it if you can avoid it!
Suncorp is the most useless bank I have ever been with. I have broken down a 2 hour drive from home and can't access my money. Now I have to walk 5 hours to get home cause I can't order a lift or get a tow. Genetic cul-de-sacs!! This is disgusting behaviour from a bank!!! The person I spoke to on the phone couldn't do anything either. I had money transferred into my account using osko and because there system is so rooted my bank account shows empty when I know it's not..... I'm leaving Suncorp, they are way too stressful and not even a real bank as far as I'm concerned now. What's the point in a bank that won't allow you to access your money when you need it? What do I pay account keeping fees for? So you can screw me around? "We are going to make it impossible to get any of your money....that will be a 5 dollars in account keeping fees". Once I have access again I'm closing my accounts with them, burning the cards and wait for the day they get shut down so I can Deficate on their grave. Worst bank ever!!!.
We have used banking and insurance Banking We had to change the signatories on an account . Simple you think ? We spent 2 hours in the local branch and still didn't get it done Insurance Suncorp owed us $960 on an insurance claim . When it didn't arrive I rang up I waited 90 minutes on hold then an announcement they could not speak to me Advised to ring back . DO NOT USE SUNCORP They own APIA insurance so give them a wide berth as well
Suncorp not only dont help you get your money back if you are scammed, they actually help the scammers take your money. Since this happened i have discovered many cases of other Suncorp customers who have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars thanks to Suncorp helping the scammers, and then refusing to get their money back.
We "were believers " That full comprehensive car insurance was a peace of mind that gave us a safety net should an accident, theft, fire, etc occur. After having submitted a full federal Police check, bank statements, income statement, driving history, phone records (including txt and call with full explanation of name of person, reason for contacting them) as an entree welcome to suncorp fraud and investigation after our car was stolen. Not having submitted a claim before I certainly wasn't ready for the next 5 months of stress and worry to what is now closed and not paying due to a breech of their act of not declaring prior damage . Now we are currently working with the ombudsman to settle this matter to what I might portray as the lousiest onset of just a chaoitic nightmare of being left in the dark. Without revealing too much I had an suspicion of "should have read the fine print " but started recording the conversations with suncorp and feel quite confident in handing over our evidence of what is the facts and events of our car being stolen and still cant get my head around cosmetic damage (which as we finally found out upon seeing the photos) has the least bit to do with the theft?I must add that they were fantastic to extend the hire car for over a hundred days Thankyou AAMI for that what . We will certainly keep you posted upon the final dealings which is to be submitted in 4 days and either way will be a closure of this chapter of our lives we will never forget and certainly would not be taking out any policy in the future without reading the fine print.
I have been a Suncorp client for over 30 years with my banking accounts, mortgage and insurance and credit card. I have been unable to use my credit card for the last year as every transaction is declined despite having paid it off in full! Every time I phone them I get told to visit a branch. My closest branch is 5 kms away and when I visit it they tell me to phone the company, so I'm back to Square One. I recently had a holiday on which I was unable to use my card for hotel bookings etc which made things very difficult. I'd love to cancel my card and take one out with a more caring institution but how can I do that without any decent service? I would never use them again.
I have 2 cars under Suncorp comprehensive car insurance. Both cars have been written off in the last 12 months.Last year, 1 car was rear ended by a stolen vehicle, written off. This year, the other slid on a oil patch and crashed into a barrier, written off.For both cars, I had market value. Suncorp paid a very nice amount for both cars. Which I felt was a very accurate market value. I was happy. For both cars, Suncorp extended the 21 day car hire coverage at no extra charge. Which was fantastic. I did find you need to talk to the right people. I'd phone up and be told "No!" by someone. Then I'd speak to someone else and immediately get the car hire extension.I did find the pay out for the written off cars took a long time. Which was frustrating. But at least they paid for the hire car until they released the payout funds. I just had to be super organised, lining up the new vehicle with a deposit, so that I could pay for it completely once I got the money and do it all same day, due to losing the car hire once pay out was completed.I've used the road side assistance and the towing multiple times over the last 10 years. Always received excellent care and service. With one tow being on a Saturday evening in the middle of nowhere. They towed my car 2 hours away, not to the nearest mechanic for the breakdown location but to the nearest mechanic to my home, which was amazing. I didn't have to pay a cent.My biggest gripe is, I get multi policy discount and SES discount. And these discounts constantly drop off, randomly. Then when I notice, sometimes months down the track, I have to phone up and get the discounts put back onto the policies, and get a refund for the over payments made, due to them charging me the full amount without the discounts applied.I've had to fix this 5 or 6 times now. Really annoying. But at least they refund the money I've overpaid. In total, I'm happy with Suncorp and will stick with them for the foreseeable future.
Opened a cash management account to manage my SMSF in Feb '24 to invest in overseas funds, funds were blocked for 4 weeks for security checks which i was told would most likely happen but i was told should only take 3 days providing everything was okay. Funds eventually get released but i still can't access my account for several weeks later. I could get no response at all from there fraud department (ironically named) to see why i could not access my account as the funds were released so i was forced to make an official complaint. The following week i received an email stating my account is closed without any explanations and i had 14 days to withdraw any funds or they would be given to a charity. Who TF operates a business like this? Suncorp need to realise that it is a privilege to have customers bank with them but seeing that Suncorp bank is going down the toilet and being bought out by ANZ i should not be surprised. I will say the front line staff i dealt with conducted themselves professionally but that's about a far as that goes, the fraud team and upper management are a joke!
