Go with E-Pass. Sunpass is the worst customer service experience I have ever had to deal with. They will send multiple bills with incorrect information, you cannot speak to someone without waiting days & they are rude and unhelpful once you do speak with someone. After years of using SunPass, I am so excited to have some customer service & better communication with E-Pass!
I have had SunPass for years & switched to a SunPass Pro over a year ago. When I switched to Pro, I had to call since there was not a way to cancel the old SunPass so THEY did all the updates to the account. Today, 1/14/23 approx a year later, out of the blue I got an Invoice for tolls covered by my SunPass. Called several times on 1/14/2023 and their system was down. Finally got "Greg" who was at best accusatory and incompetent. He said I must not have updated my tag or credit card info. I told him I don't have a new tag nor credit card info. He continued to tell me I must had made some kind of mistake??? Asked for a Supervisor. She said "the transponder wasn't read". I pulled up my SunPass statement and it was definitely on the on-line bill & already paid. She kept arguing with me that it wasn't. The on-line statement shows the date & time of the transaction and it is the exact same as the paper invoice I received in the mail. Complete incompetency going on at Florida Dept. of Transportation!
I've been on hold for over an hour and no one has picked up and I also had the run around with the machine for about a good 30min that you can ask to a representative and it tells you that they don't understand I'm being charged for my previous balance which I paid plus they are putting in some payment and adjustment from another account they are also charging me the full price for the tolls even though I have a sunpass and paid the full amount so I can get the discount these people are a bunch of thieves in high power that is why they are getting away with it the government doesn't look out for us they look out for there pockets. The day they look out for us you better look at the sky to see what is coming down on us. what they fail to tell you is that if you let your payment overdraft again that they will charge you regular price on the tolls which is one of the most important things and speaking to a manager is like speaking to an idiot they are there to rip everyone off and to top it all off they don't pay there employees well and according to one of the employees that I spoke to told me that they have to pay toll so they defend the company for no reason instead of working to help the middle class or payrolls stay the same while everything goes up and we the middle class are the one that are picking the useless presidents representative chair man congressman useless people because they do nothing for us everything is for themselves as long as there pockets are full ours will always be empty but we don't stand up for ourselves and others like us this country will become worse that the third world countries I don't mean go out and damage the small mamas and pops I mean writing to who ever will listen I don't even mean protesting because then you will have inappropriate people who are radicals and start fires and breaking other peoples properties and stealing that is not a protest.
First they send a bogus bill with a grainy pic of someone else's car and license plate. When I try to call in the mistake, they start the "recorded voice runaround" designed to go in circles for 30 minutes without ever connecting you to a human. No human ever calls a company like this for any of the 32 items on 6 menus and submenus. 99% of the time, you call to report an error. You know it, they know it - they just don't want to know it. After 20 minutes and three call backs to learn the scam and press buttons that might eventually lead to a person, they let me into the waiting line which is 22 MINUTES LONG. I'm now waiting for a callback. Have the feeling I will wait several weeks for this callback.
SunPass charged me $25 fee for their computer glitch!!! Terrible customer service, they clearly hate their jobs, maybe their own life. Bitter, rude people. If you can avoid sunpass do so. You are better off paying the few extra cents at the toll gates. because in the long run they will charge you ridiculous fees for low balance on your account etc...
Travelled the Pinellas Bayway 8 times in November and December 2022. Heading out to the beach, westbound, no problem. There is an manned (actually femaled, by a very friendly lady who made our arrival to PAG very pleasant, and we saw her several more times.) tollbooth where money (cash and bills) is taken, and change made. One would think eastbound would be the same. No! No manned booth. No change made. Change is not even taken! What happened to the machines that take coins? Ridiculous that there is no option to pay, eastbound. Even more ridiculous is that our Texas toll tag does not work in Florida. I thought congress, the United States Congress, said this was supposed to happen... back in 2015! It's called "TOLL INTEROPERABILITY"So what does this mean? It means we get billed. No big deal right? Wrong. There is a $2.50 "administration charge" added to our mailed bill. That's two and a half trips across the Bayway. I would have gladly tossed in 4 quarters to avoid this charge. Lastly, would have gone one star were it not for the super nice tollbooth attendant!
Avoid sunpass.com at all costs, Registered an account back in 2016 and left credit in an account as I knew I would be back on holiday in the future.Went to close account and did not realise that my debit card that I had on the system was out of date.Contacted them loads of times about recieving a refund, but like the robots they are just kept on repeating the same things.Kept on explaining that I was on holiday at the time so there was no point in sending a cheque to the address as I was only there for 14 days in 2016, asked them weeks before travelling back to florida on the 27th of October 2022 could you please send it to the villa where I was staying for 15 days.But I was told it takes 45 days for them to send a cheque out.But does not take them long to send out a letter if they want money from you.If you are arriving in to Orlando International you can register with visitor toll pass it's free but are pre-charged for tag to pick up a tag out of the machine next to vehicle rentals.And you have the same Toll charges as sunpass.com.And if you return the tag on departure that $10 is refunded back to you.Please please avoid Sunpass as I have now lost on £15 due to them not allowing me to give new card details. Scammers
Sunpass has the worst quality of humans working for them, they treat people like crap, they don't want to spend the time to help anybody. I was misinformed so many times by the same customer service representative, they gave me incorrect information regarding my account and got upset because I told them that was not case, then went back and reviewed the information again in my account to realize I was right. They also got upset because I wanted more information and was asking questions, they kept asking if I needed help with anything else, I had to kept saying, yes, do you have the time to help me?Honestly, I think this only speaks of the company and how they treat their employees and how they are trained to treat costumers. And the sad reality is that wanted or not we are obligated to pay these leeches of society that do not contribute to anything at all, only thing they do is steal our money.
Please try to avoid using this company I feel SCAMMED because they keeps send me bills for using the toll ,even I used once in a while ,paid almost $200 recently and avoiding tolls, now is another one for $150+ and another one for one toll that was $2.50 they charge additional $2.50 so I have to pay a total of $5.00More ,better if it is an emergency DISCARD THE PASS AND PAY CASH They should have 0 star worst company you can find. NOT RECOMMENDED
Horrible costumer service, expensive, the express ways are under construction for decades, traffic bumper to bumper and the charge a repetitive charge. It is a physical and psychological abuse for working communities, these government south Miami is an abuse with the working class and low-income communities while they destroy our cars and charge $150 monthly for the low-income communities. When this abuse is going to stop. When will they respect the costumer on the line phones and empty their wallet? Horrible!
