Rip off hidden fees, £69 for an emergency call out which is fair enough but £269 per hour including part of an hour is way too much. Then they charge 15% of the bill as an admin fee then materials (£50 for 6 inch of copper pipe, union and solder) then VAT on top. Total bill for 1 hour and 15 mins work £963.23! The plumber who came was very helpful though and did a good job. I suspect he's just a contractor and only gets paid a tiny fraction of the rip off bill to the customer.Do not use this company - they are basically a company who finds plumbers locally to you and forwards on the job charging a massive fee in the process. Ring round local plumbers instead.
I called swift plumbers as I had a burst pipe I'm my kitchen!! They had a engineer at my door within the hour. The engineer was fast, efficient, and very professional. The burst pipe was repaired in know time. Fantastic service would definitely recommend.
Absolutely awful scam. Do not call them. Spoke to them to arrange a call out and she said it would be £50 call out fee, then with associated charges. When plumber arrives he has them email the contract I have to sign, which is an hourly rate of £289 and a lot of small print, and he's on the clock now so I sign, and then keep asking him if he can do it within the hour. No materials required, a valve had been switched to off on the meter and simple needs to be moved to on, and yet the bill is £647 including materials plus VAT. I manage to negotiate them to £550, but they will not otherwise reduce their rate for essentially turning a valve to the correct position, and the plumber will not leave my property until I've paid. In addition, the number you call from the website link is different to that which is rung up on your phone. And the invoice is for wefix24, not Swift Plumbers. The hourly rate could and should be communicated on confirmation of call-out as that is a flat rate, plus 15% administrative fee and added 20% VAT - so minimum call out even if nothing is wrong is £491 - but all of this is only presented by an email contract when the plumber is already at the property waiting for you to review it and on the clock. This company has no intention of being ethical or transparent in their pricing. I am extremely upset and hope no one uses them.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a total scam and pressure you into paying extortionate money for doing next to nothing. I was a female on my own at home and was pressured into signing a contract when I was told repeatedly that ‘the clock has already started’ and that if I wanted to the job done and the problem to go away that I should sign. Kicking myself now for falling for their manipulation and pressure in what was a stressful moment. The plumber Dan had absolutely no shame in charging that money and even made me buy parts that I didn’t need, then tried to buy them off me for half the price. Disgraceful person and despicable company.
