6 hours on the side of the road waiting for a tyre to be changed. Initially told 60-90 mins by the team on Switch Assist helpline, but then took 6 hours before the van arrived. The customer service agents were polite, but kept extending the wait time hour by hour.
Driver from the company attacked me. In the attack he dropped his company badge in my factory. He was dropping to a Neigbour in Bristol. The police have been informed & I’ve emailed the customer services.He works at the Bristol North branch but I was told by colleagues he’s moving to city centre tomorrow so be aware.
SCAMMERS! When we had to change the named driver on pick up, they said we had to make a whole new booking (losing our money) despite the fact that the ‘new’ named driver was the person that paid, therefore the party that entered into the contract with them. When I tried to make a new booking in front of them, the price had nearly doubled! This they explained as being because of a lack of ‘notice’ despite the fact that the van was right there, we were all the same people, with the same requirements and nothing was different. They offered to take a ‘lower deposit’ as a gesture but this is only a positive if they then decide to take the deposit for some reason! Based on other reviews this is clearly something they DO DO! Once I made clear that to claim that the higher price was justified due to ‘lack of notice’ was ridiculous, the person told us she would not serve us any more (I can assure you, it was not said rudely- I was merely pointing out a basic fact!). Be sure they will either find a way not to fulfill the contract OR will take your deposit. Either way, AVOID them if you don’t want to get Scammed!
I would actually give NO stars Very rude staff unprofessional approach Have no empathy towards people with disabilities or serious illnesses. I ask them politely not to park over my drive but they ignored my polite request by being rude I explained I was unwell and they were making my dog bark they didn’t care no apology. Their attitude was awful didn’t care about what they were doing like they were above everyone and anything and could do what they want. Very upsetting, not a company I would use but they were there picking up someone else’s car Terrible portrait and representation of a company a very poorly run one
I gave one star because there is no 0 rating for this company. There are absolutely disgusting the way they treat their customers! I hit a pot hole doing less that 15 mph I was told there are no out of hours tyre places open and I would be charge so I waited until the next day like I was advised, phoned again and was told that it was a car accident and I would have to go through insurance, and have had the worst 3 days of stress trying to sort this matter out. I believe this company is using the insurance as a way of gaining more money out of their customers. I have spoken to a tyre place who have confirmed that the car should have come to the tyre place where they would have done the necessary checks when replacing the tyre. So my question is who decides on a solution at switch because my experience has been an absolute nightmare to the point I will be seeking legal advice on how this whole thing has been managed with this company. BEWARE before renting a car there are better companies out there..
Switch Car rental Paulsgrove, Portsmouth. I was denied a rental car, and the service I received was unacceptable. The employee, a woman with short hair, appeared to be misinformed about the legal requirements for car rentals. As an EU citizen living in the UK, I provided my passport, bank statement, and proof of council tax payment. Despite having all the required documentation, I was refused service. This experience was deeply frustrating and a disservice to customers. I urge management to address this lack of training and to ensure all staff are aware of the correct UK legislation regarding EU citizens and vehicle rentals.
I hired a car recently from Switch and have to say the staff were so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make my experience 'painless' and quite pleasant. If I needed to hire a car in the future I would definitely use Switch. Thank you to everyone there.Judy
