Review Time
We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The staff were incredible and nothing was too much. Food was superb. The room was superb and utterly faultless. Caviar not for me, but happily drink champagne in return. Thank you.
My complaint is this! I called today to book a table. I ask when do I book for a certain date. He told me they are fully booked right from today up until the thew year???? I would like to no how this is? Last year for December I was told I was only allowed to book at a certain time..I called back and the girl said sorry there fully booked I said how come when I was told to call back at a certain time??? Now today there fully booked right up into the new year!?? Can someone explain how it has been booked up now. Do certain people get special privileges??? It is so unfare. I would like someone from the Ritz to explain this situation to me!?( It is the 24/10/24 and not one person from the Ritz has had the decency to give me any answers to my Review which was written in September???)
In an alcove in the Ritz was not what We where expecting . Yes plenty of food , which if we are being honest was mediocre, sandwiches a little dry around the edges , no one offered extra tea . It would of been nice for someone to say don't worry if you don't eat it all ,you can have a box to take some home . The service was ok , maybe a little rushed . In an alcove was not what we expected , no windows , extremely warm , especially for the men who are in jackets and ties. This should have taken place in a restaurant or proper room . A very expensive couple of hours , for what was a bit of a disappointment. It would have been nice to maybe given the chance to explore the Ritz and it's history . Sorry the Ritz we will not be back. This is what i wrote on trip advisor they then ask me to email them direct and yet 4 days after I sent the email no response , I have to ask is there customer service at The Ritz or is it just for certain customers!
Booked a 2 night stay with afternoon tea on day 2. Found all staff very friendly and accommodating. Our room was all that we expected and more. Afternoon tea was excellent, all the staff worked hard to ensure you were well looked after and enjoyed the experience. Only one negative was the lack of enforcement of its dress code. If 100 people attended the tea 98 accepted and dressed to the code. Two males rolled up with no jackets or ties and in sports wear with trainers. The younger mail had a hoody, tea shirt, sports wear and trainers. Hotel staff loaned the older male a jacket and tie but he still had trainers etc on. The younger male it was claimed was a child and no dress code applied. ( not a child as defined under UK Law from his looks) If you have a code it should be enforced not circumvented for profit.
Very disappointed with the service ,I hada gift voucher for my 50th, I knew I couldn't use it before it expired so they agreed if I paid £30 I could extend it for 6 months,so this is what I though I had done, afternoon tea was booked for the 4th August which I booked back in April only to discover when someone from the Ritz called me 5 days before that my payment had not be received, they kept sending confirmation of my booking so I assumed payment had gone through, however because my gift voucher has now expired they won't except the £30 payment now so we have lost £100 voucher,so up set as we booked for our 28th wedding anniversary and my husband birthday, and like I said it was also a 50th birthday present for me , We also booked a hotel which was non refundable,BE CAREFUL BUYING VOUCHERSNot the response I expected from the Ritz
