Rammed trains

I use Transpennine often and for 95% of my journeys, the train is rammed, so often standing room only. Usually only 3 carriages so I suggest they should add extra capacity, i.e., extra carriages.

Guards are Sociopaths

Travelling with tranPennine is basically self inflected torture, and paying an eye watering expense for it..Awful business, run my guards who are sociopaths lacking any sort of human compassion, very much would be part of ‘we were only following orders’ crowd. They are defacto government run (heavily subsidised) and hide behind the fact they are a ‘company’ to not meet or care about offering a service.A lot of their business model relies on being confusing, to trick passengers into their trains to double charge them.If you read through the other comments it pretty much show what an awful company this is.If you work there and are reading this I would be genuinely ashamed to work there. Not much we can for now but hopefully a gov will get it at some point to dismantle this company. Until then travelling on with this company is self inflicted torture, that costs a fortune.

Worst trainline ever

Paid for reserved seats but people were already sat in them and removed the reserved tickets at the top, which apparently meant nothing could be done about it. Turns out this happened to multiple passangers. Wouldn't have minded except the train was completely packed and loads of us had to stand for almost 2 hours which was difficult given my disability. Why do they even sell so many tickets when they know the train seats are fully booked? It was completely packed, we were all squashed, people got stepped on and accidentally hit as people tried to squeeze past to get to and from the doors. And only 3 coaches from Liverpool to Cleethorpes is so stupid.

Not possible to book seats - but you can with other train companies

You can't even book seats on the TPE website, so I never use it now. I live in Filey, so have to use TPE frequently, but am forced to book through another train company, which is ridiculous. I just had a reply from TPE to say you can book seats ‘based on availability’. This is completely untrue. I wanted to book seats for a trip to York and it was not possible, but I had no problem booking seats on the TPE train through LNER.

Staff didn’t care.no hot drinks available, and toilets out of order had to walk to next carriage. Toilets were absolutely filthy,Still waiting to hear back almost 3 months later AVOID

Health hazard.

Health hazard.Sunday train from Huddersfield to Leeds. Having to stand up and so hot it was absolutely suffocating. This is a fire hazard also. No doubt a virtual assistant will give a reply tomorrow. No point in contacting customer service. Equally as useless.

Third World Travel Experience right in the U.K!

If you’d like to be stranded in the middle of a city at night, have zero communication from conductors who lie about what time you’ll arrive, and to be cancelled on more times than that flaky guy off Tinder, Trans Pennine express is for you. For those who are fans of cancel culture, it’s plentiful here. Expect to be cancelled on not once, not twice but three times all in one evening! They really pull out the stops to disappoint you. To arrive on time is simply not enough, expect to wait over fifteen minutes or if they feel like it, two+ hours. You’d better have plenty of time free that day! If you’re lucky to board a train, you’ll get to enjoy the uncomfortable worn seats, unique curtains in first class that are partially dropping off and the toilets? The unclean aroma of other passengers urine, suspicious wet patches on the floor and tissues strewn around like a teenage boy’s room is all part of the experience! Unfortunately I had to give one star as Trust Pilot does not accept zero. How irritatingly positive.

It’s unfair that the only option is a star. Absolute chaos on this network constantly. I had disciplinary proceedings due to no notice cancellations.
