Joke of a company.. had tickets booked to liverpool. On the return journey got to station for 6pm for a 6.53pm train.. wouldn't let anyone in station luckily a friend was driving. First and last time ill use public transport.. abysmal
I was delayed for my journey from Carlisle to Glasgow by almost an hour. Was informed that I could claim using the delay repayment policy policy. What a joke! Not only is it impossible to navigate my claim was deemed unsuccessful as they couldn’t find my train on their timetable despite providing a copy of my ticket detailing the timetables journey. I was advised I could appeal but link to appeal even worse to navigate. Use a different train service is my advice, NEVER again!
Booked Edinburgh to Newcastle 1st class. Train on time, was offered a hot drink and croissant before 10am. Not sure why staff don't use a trolley instead of running back and forward to the catering area? Had to ask for cutlery as had jam with the croissant. On the return cake or crisps offered with a drink. There was a second round of drinks but felt a little disappointed there were no sandwiches etc. Appreciate the journey is on the short side but that would've been a nice touch. Seat was comfortable and the journey was smooth. Train delayed 25mins due to crew late into Newcastle on return, ended up being 20mins late into Edinburgh. Only paid a few pounds with Railcard so not bothering claiming delay repay. On the whole not an awful experience but could've been better.
Travelled on this extremely poor service from Preston to Edinburgh (originally started from Liverpool Lime Street), where iriginal train ran 7 minutes late. Second train ended up running 45 minutes late. Guard was so embarrassed, he announced several times that travellers would be due a refund via "Delay Repay". I made a claim and it was rejected as there only accounted for delay in first train. I then disputed the claim being rejected and then the second train was rejected because the first claim was rejected. Their systems make absolutely no sense and they are just not adhering the the train guidelines. I will escalate and pursue this via a lawyer or any other means possible as this is a despicable train company. I hope they lose their license soon as I will be backing this.
Abysmal lack of service, shabby dilapidated rolling stock. No working power outlets to charge phone in First Class, 5 of the 6 last First Class trips I've been on have had NO service. No offering of a drink in the middle of a heat wave is shocking. Yesterday towards the end of a journey to Manchester I was told that there was a host at the front of the train In a different First Class carriage, useful. You can always be sure they'll check your ticket pretty much before your bottom touches the seat, sadly they're not quite so quick to offer the First Class service paid for. DO NOT waste your money with these charlatans, if you must ride with them just go standard as the TPEs First doesn't even come close to Avantis Standard Premium. On top of that, the ticket inspectors use the Cabin as a staff room so sit there jabbering on so you can't even expect a bit of peace and quiet. I imagine this company maintains itself on the back of the costs it cuts and the poor service it provides its disillusioned customers In response to your reply, it's no good being sorry for the way I feel, empty meaningless apologies mean nothing, How about either lowering your prices in line with the dire service you provide or actually doing your jobs?
Poor experience on most journeys. Today booked first class tickets. Manchester airport to Glasgow. Train service cancelled beyond oxenholm. At oxenholm had to drag heavy bags uphill to reach a car park from where a bus is taking us to Carlisle. At Carlisle we will be dropped some distance away from another bus which will take us to Glasgow. I have been travelling for about 24 hours now and this is not a pleasant experience after paying for a first class journey!
