Awful experience with TPE

Awful experience with TPE. No service at all in first, air-conditioning broken, dirty and shocking customer service regarding parking issue. In short a shambles.

Easy booking process

Easy booking process. Good service frequency from my local station.Train was on time. Carriage was clean and well kept. Onboard staff friendly and helpful. Having read so many previous and negative reviews my expectations for the trip were not high - it was a pleasant surprise to find that everything went to plan - TransPennine worked well for me and I will definitely use again.

Transpennine fail again

Transpennine do it again, yet another short notice cancellation of a key commuter train. Use Northern Trains, ru bish rolling-stock but at least they turn up.....

Rude staff

Travelling with a baby and needed the ramp as struggling to get the pram on. I asked the staff member who was stood close by on the platform, if she could get me the ramp. She said abruptly if it was a wheelchair yes, but as it’s not, lift it on yourself! Her attitude was horrid. Very Rude and unpleasant. Gida I think her name was. Obviously never had to travel with a baby alone. What horrible staff. Luckily a kind passenger jumped off and helped me or I wouldn’t have been able to travel. I HAVE SENT THE COMPLAINT FORM ON THE DAY IT HAPPENED. NO REPLY?????? Not really a good enough response below that!

First class booking, third class experience

Travelled from Manchester to Cleethorpes and received a packet of crisps, a piece of cake, a bottle of water and a cup of tea. At Sheffield, the first class attendant left the train and we didn’t see any other member of staff or any refreshments for the rest of the journey. The return trip was even worse, no staff, no refreshments and a crowded 3 car train. Nobody checked tickets, there were youths sat in first class, who quite obviously didn’t have first class tickets. Surprisingly, there were 2 members of staff sat in the rear cab, who only got out on to the platform whilst stopped. Not sure how much these people earn, but I would like a job like that. Little wonder that train tickets are so expensive when 2 members of staff can just sit in the rear cab for almost 4 hours. Avanti’s first class is far superior in every aspect.

From Oxenholme to Glasgow

From Oxenholme to Glasgow, outward on Friday 28/6/25 and back on Sunday 30/6/25, this service was very good - 5 mins late into Oxenholme but the delay was made up by Glasgow, and perfectly on time from Glasgow back to Oxenholme. The platform was very late being displayed at Glasgow Central and the electronic seat reservation thing wasn't working, but the essential elements of the service were in place!

Once again cancelled train

Once again cancelled train, booked tickets for my mum to travel through the Trainline for this service from Motherwell to Scunthorpe on the 30th June first class seats first time she’s travelled on her own and having to do 3 stops instead of just one it wasn’t a pleasant experience with all the disruption and then not being able to use the ticket she paid for sitting on LNER, asked for a refund and been told it’s not eligible but train was cancelled and didn’t receive first class seat. Unfortunately if you want to get to places like Manchester or the airport and routes such as Scunthorpe from Motherwell you have no option to use this train company. Many a times I’ve had my train cancelled always this company it’s awful.
