Review Time
It's barely worth writing this review based on how many negative review are here 🤷♂️. I created my Twilio account in 2010 back in the days of RailsRumble (something that will mean something only a few).
I used it on and off for projects for years, but eventually wound up the projects using Twilio. I tried a while back to use it for a few things only to find it too hard.
Fast forward to 2026, I'm building a new product that needs SMS and WhatsApp and so I log into my account only to find they've suspended it for being dormant. Not only that but the support is unhelpful, won't unsuspend it and insists that I must create a new account.
I did create a new account...with Vonage. Let's hope this business is successful and some Twilio sales rep comes calling.
I feel like my money is being taken unfairly. After running a campaign, it was rejected on the grounds that it was paid material, which they claim is non-refundable. Now, every time I attempt to redo it, I'm charged an additional 15 dollars. It honestly feels like a scam.
This service is a scam. I spent $20 for a UK phone number to use their SMS feature, but after more than eight days, I still haven't heard back. Whenever I attempt to reach out to their support team, the link takes me to irrelevant pages. I strongly advise against using this service!
Twilio is user-friendly and effective for sending messages and making calls to clients. It assists my small business in maintaining contact with individuals effortlessly. The service is dependable, the setup process is straightforward, and everything operates seamlessly. In summary, Twilio streamlines business communication, making it easy and hassle-free.
Having been a customer for 11 years, typically paying a minimal amount due to infrequent use, I was shocked to find a charge of 5700 dollars for activity that occurred in just one hour. The company informed me that my account had been compromised, yet insisted that I was liable for the charges resulting from this attack. They had already taken nearly 800 dollars from my account before my payment provider intervened. Now, I am out 800 dollars for an issue the company acknowledges as a third-party attack, and they demand another 5000 dollars before allowing me to close my account. Their lack of honesty and unwillingness to resolve this situation is frustrating. I even offered to assist them in enhancing their security measures, but their response was simply that I owe them 5000 dollars.
This service is a prime reason for the influx of spam and harassment phone calls. Research indicates a connection with larger platforms. Upon examining various sites, you may find usernames that seem trivial but are linked to familiar entities. The service appears to facilitate the sale or rental of phone numbers, potentially allowing anyone to access them. The situation suggests that they may be involved in spoofing, yet they take no action against it. It feels as though they have the power to manipulate larger companies to erase crucial information regarding these issues. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, as they seem intent on preventing any reporting or complaints unless you're willing to comply with their demands.
Scam spam harassment service provider. This company along with others is the very reason you get spam, scam and harassment phone calls. They are also connected with Google research shows. If you look at some of the site you will notice that usernames like "weems" "Cumberland Weems" and "Charles Weems" are mentioned as a demonstration of the software. Those silly names track back to a couple, a cat and their neighbor. Weems is the last name of the cat. In effect, twillio is participating in the calls most likely. They sell and or rent phone numbers via their gui. Apparently they will sell or rent access to anyone buying. Either that or the numbers are spoofed, and they do nothing about that either. It seems they have enough clout or influence to convince Google LLC and alphabet Inc to destroy evidence, net work maps and information leading to the culprits. My experience with them has been nightmarish at best. They do everything they can to stop you from reporting, complaining, asking for help or contacting them in anyway. Unless, as others have mentioned, you want to pay their ransom.
I have been connecting to Twilio for a while now and it provides ZERO assistance unless you fork over $5000.00. I am not a small outfit and once this is fully resolved, My main goal in life is to take the board of Directors to court and get them replaced. They are WORTHLESS. I depend on the service. They depend on customers. They are going to lose a customer that provides a hefty monthly revenue. If directions were provided, it would be a different story, but you cannot clump and expect everyone to know what to do.
