We bought the 6 day pass and everything worked well. But in reality it is hard to spend enough to make the pass worthwhile from a financial point of view. To beat the high price you really do have to work hard visiting many attractions and using as many benefits as possible - quite exhausting. The Fast Track aspect was only moderately helpful given we were in Vienna during the quiet season. Overall we just about got our money’s worth.
Generally well worth it, but with caveats. We paid 402 euros for our family of 4 for the 2 day pass. We checked off quite a few sites in those 2 days, and definitely went some places we wouldn't have if we were paying for each individual stop. We also utilized the hop on hop off bus which was better than expected and allowed us to bookmark spots we wanted to go. I will say this: in order to get full value you need to really pack your days. I did the math and we got our money's worth, but barely. 2 other minor gripes: it would be really convenient if they included public transit, and the way you use it is different in different spots. For example, you can directly scan the pass at the zoo, but at Schönbrunn Palace you need to redeem for a ticket, and the pass only covers the short tour. All in all it was a good value, but a few changes would make it a home run. Visit the State Library, that place is breathtaking!
the vienna experience was very good for us and the vienna pass made it better. using fast lanes and not waiting for each ticket office queue was very beneficial. there was small issue though. first of all there are still extra fees in our visit like extra rooms in shonbrünn palace. we think it was also included in the pass. and another and more disturbing thing was price. even though it is still advantagous for us, i could still paid individually for each entry and get pay about the same price (with discounts in vienna city card) and if i did that i did not need to rush through each visit. so, the price should be lower for this pass. i would like to suggest to make hop-on hop-off bus optional and lower the price for the exluded pass lower. i dont think people visit a city with a very good public transportation options to use hop-on-off bus. please consider that.
First of all: Sisi Museum? Schönbrunn Palace? LOL. Absolutely not. Apparently, the Vienna Pass does not include actually entering the things people buy the Vienna Pass for. We stood there like clowns, holding our fancy pass, only to be told we still couldn’t get in. Incredible. Inspirational, even. The whole system feels like it was designed by someone who hates tourists but loves chaos. You pay a lot of money upfront, then spend your days discovering all the places you can’t enter, waiting in lines anyway, or realizing too late that “included” actually means “included emotionally, not physically.” Instead of saving time or money, we just collected disappointments.
Didnt think the saving was justified and didnt get the flexibility got a subset of the museum experience. Didn't get the time savings either and wasted trips to sites. Some of the museums the kids tickets were free anyway so paying for nothing. You couldn't walk straight into Schönbrunn Palace as had to book via ticket desk (which was 3 days later). never mentioned on website. Even when we did we only got to see the State rooms. You had to pay an extra 10 euros per person for full experience.Imperial Treasury Vienna was free for kids below a certain age so not saving there on Vienna kids pass.
I am really disappointed with the Vienna Pass. It was no value for money. The top sights such as the Upper Belvedere, the Sisi Hofburg Museum and the Schoenbrunn Palace were not available to us. Understandably in the holiday season we expected some waiting times, but in more than two cases we were told that unless we had reserved, there was no availability for the following days. Hence we had known about it we would most likely have decided against the purchase of it and made other arrangements. Your staff provided this information either when we were at the site and denied entrance or when I filed a complaint about it and were informed that the availability is mentioned in the terms and conditions section. Therefore no accountability. Overall, it had been a disappointing experience, as far as the service and the handling is concerned.
