My experience with Westgate sales…

My experience with Westgate sales representatives has been nothing short of a fraudulent and manipulative nightmare. As an elderly retiree, I was targeted and deceived into purchasing a timeshare worth over $12,000. For almost a decade, Westgate has subjected me to elder abuse, feeding me lies and misinformation to make the sale. I have had enough! They promised unlimited travel options, cruise benefits, and rental income opportunities – all of which turned out to be utter fabrications. The high-pressure sales tactics and false assurances coerced me into making a regrettable decision. The availability of the timeshare was limited, and attempting to sell it proved nearly impossible due to their draconian ownership transfer policies. When I reached out to their customer support for help, they displayed apathy and refused to take responsibility. I implore Westgate to rectify this situation by nullifying my contract without negative financial repercussions. My trust has been shattered, and I deserve restitution for the blatant deceit and manipulation I've endured. This ordeal has left me deeply disillusioned and disappointed in Westgate's unethical practices.

Our experience with Westgate Vacation…

Our experience with Westgate Vacation Villas was dreadful. We were promised a 4-day, 3-night stay in exchange for a one-hour resort tour, but it turned into an 8-hour ordeal. Despite declining multiple times, we were coerced into signing up for a misrepresented timeshare with crucial details hidden from us.It started with a brochure in March 2021. The representative urged us to lie about our income to qualify for the promised gift. At the resort, a salesperson named Demian Esteba pressured us with extravagant claims and a false sense of urgency. We reluctantly agreed. The loan officer, Jonathan Mieres Pineda, rushed us through the contract signing, discouraging thorough reading. Important details like rising maintenance fees, the right to rescind the contract, and the financial burden on our children were kept from us.We paid $7,000 towards the timeshare since April 2021, with no benefits. Booking vacations was impossible due to limited availability. If Mr. Pineda had allowed us to understand the contract, we'd have seen the exorbitant costs.Westgate Vacation Villas used dishonest tactics, leaving us in financial uncertainty.

IT’S ALL A BIG LIE!!!

Regardless of how you get exposed to Westgate Resort’s fast-talking sales pitch, you will most likely regret it. We got sucked in by the low prices on Priceline to spend a 2-night stay at Westgate Vacation Villas. Our frugal mindset sucked us into a “presentation” in exchange for $75 cash and a free meal. Hours upon hours of what we now know were total lies about Westgate’s availability, benefits, and costs used to dupe people into signing a contract is what we endured. Reflecting on how the product is presented, it feels like they are talking about a pyramid scheme, implying that it will pay for itself, if not create revenue through rentals and referrals. They tell you to purchase their product and then “resell” it to friends and neighbors. Here is the truth, the all-in price, once you count the interest, fees, and loan payments thus far have been about $743 per night, for the exact same properties that Priceline had listed for about $50 per night. So, accepting that “gift” in exchange for a presentation, was a terrible idea. Employees at Westgate will claim they do not make commission & are not concerned with the price of the timeshare, that their passion is fostering an incredible deal: a unit of immense value at an amazing, affordable price. If they tell you that the timeshare will appreciate, creating the impression that it was a good investment; that owning a timeshare would make vacationing affordable; that you could rent your timeshare for a profit when not using it; that you could give your timeshare back to the developer, sell or transfer it to another party should you no longer want it. IT IS ALL A BIG LIE!

RUN! Don’t believe the lies.

When making reservations for the Las Vegas location of Westgate Resort and Casino, we were told our stay will be 1/2 price if we sit thru timeshare sales pitch. We were told would only take 60 - 90 minutes and no pressure. We were told it is a real estate investment, we could easily sell if we decided to, we could rent out our timeshare and make lots of money (the sales rep said he had 2 timeshares and has made over $400k this year - why was he pushing 70, still working, and wearing cheap jewelry???), maintenance fees would not go up and HOA fees would stay same. Plus my husband looked at reviews on line and read all the horror reviews. The same lies told to them were told to us. We decided this wasn’t for us. Since we were not buying, we were kept hostage and pressured for almost 5 hours. The initial price was $60k and after several price changes went down to $7k. The last cow sent to pressure us was very rude and inappropriate. She angrily accused us of not letting her do her job. We finally got angry, stood up and our voices were raised. People started looking and that was the only reason we were finally allowed to leave. As we were leaving we demanded our room discount. We got our discount and filed a complaint.Besides that nightmare, we were given a room that was already occupied, our room was in poor condition. The shower didn’t work; the veneer on the bathroom cabinet was peeling and hanging and there was veneer pieces on the floor. The room decor was outdated, poor lighting, and looked like a pimps bedroom (very large black leather diamond tuck bench and red leather diamond tuck couch, black shade on all lamps, large black headboard, etc), and it had a bad smell. The whole 19th floor smelled. Our stay was from 9/23/22 to 9/25/22. The sales pitch was on 9/24/22. The box below for “date of experience” won’t let me put in the correct date. I put in 9/24/22 but it keeps changing date to the 23rd. Three hundred dollars a night and not even on the strip and in poor condition, very few eateries, small casino, I could go on and on. Do Not Stay here or fall for the schpeel for 1/2 price to attend a sales pitch. NOT worth it. This hotel is a dump.

Run away as fast as you can

Run away as fast as you can. They’re scam. They held us hostage for 5 hours trying to scam us to buy their worthless piece of poop property but my wife and I stood our ground. They ended up letting us go by sending a fat ugly and rude cow to give us the paper work acknowledging that we attended their scams. Otherwise I’ll be charged $500 as if I did not attend their supposedly 1.5 hours sales pitch.

Our experience with Westgate has…

Our experience with Westgate has continues to be less than subpar. They’re liars and operate in complete deceit. Westgate’s staff informed us we’re investing in property, which would allow us to earn rental income while still being able to take vacations. We declined more times than I can even remember, and our ‘quick’ meeting lasted literally ALL DAY (8 hours). While our contract signing was rushed, and documents not fully disclosed or disclosed at all, the signing was the quickest part, which seemed odd. They provided our contract on a CD Disc, and we didn’t have access to a computer while on vacation, we waited until we got home to review the disc, just to find out the contract is only 11 pages long, THERE WERE NO FINANCIAL DOCS INCLUDED IN THIS. Westgate never told us we even had a rescission period, we found out while reviewing the docs at home and page 6 out of 11 said we had five (5) calendar days to cancel this contract. Of course, we find this right after that time frame! If Westgate hadn’t been so sinister and properly disclosed pertinent information to us regarding the cancellation clause, we surely would have canceled before returning home.

Westgate Resorts = No accountability

Westgate Resorts = No accountability, no honor, intentional deception, manipulation, and greedy salespeople. I fell for the scam but realized it quickly. 7 days post-purchase I called to cancel the contract, knowing full well the State of Tennessee provides a 10-day cancellation period. Instead of honoring my legal right, they refused any cancellation assistance and immediately went into sales-mode. Little did I know at the time, this was a stall tactic to get me past the 10-day period. While my story sounds pretty close to everyone else’s on this site, I’ll tell it anyway. The 45-minute meeting lasted 5 HOURS. This time was mostly spent being spoon-fed information that was tactically given to manipulate a sale. It’s not just the salespeople, the supervisor, manager, and quality assurance people are all in on the scam too. I was told that what I was buying is a deeded property yet there is no guarantee that I can even use it! During the paperwork portion, everything was so rushed and the most important information in the documents was glossed over, like the rescission period. I also wasn’t given an opportunity to review the financial aspects and found out later that once interest is factored in, I am paying about double what I agreed to. This is what you can expect from Westgate!

Terrible experience

Westgate's scammers have no issues with cheating hard-working, honest people out of money. They won't take "no"for an answer and back you into a corner with lies. Attimes, we were surrounded by 4 salespeople at once likethey were bullies on a playground. We were finally worndown after 3 hours and bought into this supposed realestate investment... except there is no real estate. Theresorts were also supposed to be exclusive to owners, another lie. We could have booked a room at any resortonline instead of paying a high interest loan everymonth! We were also tricked into upgrading when we weretold that we'd be buying a $72,000 piece of real estate for$31,000! What they failed to mention was the 17.99%interest. The upgrade presentation came with all the samelies as the first one, so clearly this wasn't a roguesalesperson, its how they do business.

Avoid the Westgate Smokey Mountain…

Avoid the Westgate Smokey Mountain Resort like the plague! My friends and I endured a 6-hour nightmare on September 6th, 2022, trapped in a Westgate timeshare sales pitch. They promised a “one-hour seminar" turned into an aggressive, high-pressure ordeal. We explicitly rejected their offers multiple times, but the sales reps persisted, preying on our vulnerabilities – our dreams of family, home ownership, and financial stability. They shamelessly peddled lies about how their timeshare would solve all our problems, from boosting credit scores to becoming real estate moguls. Their tactics were beyond deceptive; they were manipulative and fraudulent. They even held our driver's licenses hostage, making escape feel impossible. The timeshare we reluctantly purchased turned out to be utterly useless – no rentals, no vacations, just a financial drain. Critical financial details were concealed, and the supposed cancellation period wasn't disclosed. This place prioritizes deceit over honesty. My rating for the Smokey Mountain Resort is no stars. Don't subject yourself to their predatory practices. Your sanity and wallet deserve better.
