Its 1 start only because I cant give…

Its 1 start only because I cant give zero. Westgate is a horrible company, they allow their reps to lie during their presentations then after you purchase and complain their response is we have a valid contract. They do not care that people are being misled by their sales reps.

These sorts of timeshares should be…

These sorts of timeshares should be illegal. How can someone trap you in a contract for life? My husband and I took it over from my MIL after her husband died and she could no longer afford it. Biggest mistake of our lives. Supposedly you can exchange for trips out of the country. This is complete BS, there was never an exchange available anywhere. You are stuck going to only their few locations. We used this thing once or twice so far. I think we could have easily found a better place to stay, for less money. Our life circumstances have changed now and we can no longer afford it. It will ruin my husband's credit, but we are going to have to stop paying for this scam.

I purchased a package where I was told…

I purchased a package where I was told I get a variety of choices, one of which was leisure time passport to book Westgate resort stays. Since I do work, I did tell them I need short vacations such as 3 or 4 nt stays. I was assured I could get the in one of their resorts. I have spent over 2 hours today trying to figure out how to do that. I have 5 different phone numbers I was given in addition to asking for return phone calls that I never received. I was told I can get only 7 night stays and if I want fewer nights, I need to book a hotel room studio and NOT a RESORT. It is a very stressful process, and I could have used that $600+ money I spent to better use. I also received a certificate for another 7 night stay for a company called Odenza marketing which was another rip off and also a free cruise for which I sent in my request in January and have not heard from anyone. Too bad because your resorts are very nice but my package was not what I was told at my tour.

Westgate timeshare has been the worst

Westgate timeshare has been the worst! Westgate wasted our time and money. They have lied to us repeatedly and we are done. Originally, we were offered a 3-day stay for $100 with no explanation that we had to attend a presentation. When we reserved our 3-day stay that is where they informed us of a "60-90 minute presentation" we HAD to attend or we would be charged over $1000 for our 3-day stay. Of course we agreed as we did not want to be charged the full amount. The presentation was supposed to be 60-90 minutes, but it ended up taking close to 6 HOURS! We refused their offers multiple times and repeatedly explained that we had dinner plans and needed to leave. They did not care and instead held us hostage, not letting us leave until we made a purchase. They told us if we were to leave, we would be charged $1000 for our stay which they had originally offered to us for $100. I believe that they held us against our will and used untruthful claims to gain our business. Immediate t reach him he finally contacted us back. He mentioned we had to contact someone else. Only the next day after they scammed us into the timeshare we called the guy that presented the timeshare to us and he ignored our calls and texts. After a couple of days trying to reach him he finally contacted us back. He mentioned we had to contact someone else. Once we got a hold of the other man we were told we only had 3 days to cancel the timeshare! We were not told of the cancellation "fine print." we contacted the guy the day after and no response. I bet they knew that we only had the few days and they waited until all paperwork was final to reach out to us!! We have called, emailed, and even sent them letters in the mail trying to resolve this, but they just tell us to “find someone else to take over”. If you are thinking about purchasing a timeshare with Westgate, DON’T!!! Their website says, “Find you perfect Westgate vacation.” But the only thing they are finding are new ways to scam people.

I have to rate 1* as it is not possible…

I have to rate 1* as it is not possible to rate any lower! We went to a booth on I-drive to buy discount tickets for Universal. We were told that we just had to attend a presentation at Westgate Resort in order to get the tickets at a (significantly) cheaper price. We thought, okay … why not? Small price to pay. Anyhow, we went along and whilst our salesperson was very good at her job, we weren’t interested in buying a timeshare. All of the promises that other people have said they were made were made to us. We said we weren’t prepared to make a financial commitment today and she was very nice about it. She then bought in her manager who was, quite frankly, a patronising moron. Hubby said that he wanted to research further before making a commitment (not unreasonable) and then the hard sell came. He talked to us like we were remedial and asked do we REALLY research everywhere we went on holiday? We said yes, of course. He then asked where we were staying and when we told him, he started giving it large with “you trying to tell me you researched Hilton company before booking with them?” I explained no, but as we weren’t considering entering a 7-year long financial relationship with them, there was no need. The price came down and down and still it was a no from us. Eventually he left and the saleswoman told us he had left to go and release our tickets. Then another woman came in and tried to sign us up to a holiday at westgate! Lots of incentives including free entry to the water park (which we’d assumed was free anyway). The timeshare was sold as a real estate opportunity which could be gifted to our child, but upon reading these reviews we realise that all of this is a complete lie!! So much of what is written in these reviews we were told and it is clearly all complete BS! We were there for only 3.5 hours today (got off lightly based upon the other reviews here), but whilst we were in the final, very crowded, sales room (about 20 mins), a rapturous round of applause was given to 2 families who had signed up for a timeshare. If you are one of these families, I hope to God that you read this review and use the cancellation period to cancel in writing and save yourself from sinking into what appears to be a money pit! As I said, our initial salesperson was great - Crystal, you have excellent sales skills. I just pray that you put these to better use with a more ethical company than Westgate where you aren’t instructed to tell lies and sell false promises to people. I was tempted to buy from you, so you’re good. Luckily, your horrible manager talking to us like we were stupid did us a massive favour, as it turns out. To those that signed up today, I am so, so sorry. BTW … I think Sean F works for the company, his review sounds just like the ‘manager’ we had the displeasure of meeting today.

Bad "Investment"

I recently purchased a timeshare from Westgate Resorts in July 2022 and I have to say, it was a terrible decision. I had attended a presentation back in 2018 and declined, but they gave me a free week to try it out. During that week, I was harassed relentlessly to purchase a timeshare, with the salespeople giving me the highest levels of pressure possible. They told me that they had kept the unit they were trying to sell me back in 2018 and that it had gone up in value since then, yet they offered me the same price as before. When I expressed my concern about the price, they dropped it even further. They pitched the timeshare as a rental, Airbnb, investment, and business opportunity, but I didn't like that it was only available for end-of-year use. Things got even weirder when they asked if I was a veteran, and even though I am, I didn't understand why that had anything to do with a timeshare. This is not a company you want to do business with!

Complete sham of a scam….

Westgate Resorts Smokey Mountain in Gatlinburg TN completely took advantage of us by luring us into a timeshare sales presentation with free gifts & breakfast. Little did we know they were going to trap us there for several hours, with high pressure sales, and manipulate us into a timeshare that we could not afford. We literally told them “NO” over 5 times and every time they magically lowered the purchase price. We were tired and our kids were hungry. We tried to leave several times, but they keep insisting we stay and consider their offer. They lied to us about all the benefits of buying the timeshare and prepaying for all our family vacations. They promised our children could enjoy this timeshare for years to come but failed to inform us they would be responsible for paying fees for the rest of their lives. They never explained the reoccurring and increasing annual maintenance fees. They promised access to hotels all over the country, access to Disney hotels/resorts, tax deductions for our TS, and the ability to trade our week with other members. All of this was false!! When we returned home, we realized what a huge mistake we made. They never disclosed the rescission period we had to cancel the contract which we only found out about after the fact. Our experience with Westgate Resorts has been a nightmare. We do not recommend anyone to visit their resorts. It is nothing more than a complex web of phony, misleading and dishonest sales practices.

**WARNING** Stay away from Westgate…

**WARNING** Stay away from Westgate Resorts. They lured us into a sales presentation, while we visited Las Vegas in 2019, with free show tickets and breakfast. For over 3 hours they hammered us with all these BOGUS benefits to timeshare ownership! We weren’t interested in purchasing a timeshare and wanted to leave but they just insisted we stay longer. It was SO stressful, but they offered us a new iPad mini to stay! After hours of exhausting and aggressive sales we picked the cheapest package. What a bad decision. They promised 5-star accommodations at their resorts, but they were only 3-star rated by Google. So now we are paying monthly payments to these crooks for rooms we never use and cannot afford! If you try to contact them, they just want to upsell you even more. Westgate resorts preys on people who are trying to have a relaxing vacation. They force you through these long and dishonest presentations until you are so tired you would sign anything just to leave. The free iPad was junk, and the free show we attended was bad too. Don't be a victim like us, and just stay away from Westgate Resorts.
