Beware of Westgate Resorts!!!

I bought a timeshare from Westgate in April 2019. During the sales presentation I told the reps that English was not my first language, and I was having trouble understanding which is probably why they manipulate and pressure me. I had multiple people introducing themselves as managers and they all offered better deals every time I said no. Here are just a few fake promises from these Westgate managers: I could exchange my apartment for a cruise; I could visit my family overseas in Turkey for $250 for the week; my family will inherit a paid off property; this would give me 2 vacations a year. None of that is true! I was not told of the 17.99% interest. I must pay EXTRA to have an account to access account details. Then I need to pay even MORE for a different program to travel abroad! Those salespeople really know how to take advantage of you. I eventually did travel to Turkey and called Westgate to request an exchange like the salespeople said I could. I had to pay more for the Interval program and then found out there wasn’t any availability! I even checked other countries… NOTHING is available. They preyed on me because of my limited English at the time. It’s been a couple years and I understand much more now. I will not sit by and let them continue to take advantage of me or anyone else. Beware of Westgate Resorts!!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience, told it would not show up as debt on my credit report and it did. If u buy you have 10 days to cancel and u have to send it in writing! Its in the contact with the address read through! You can get ur money back they lie about people calling u back to get you past the 10 days! Dont want someone else messing their finances up ecspecially when trying to buy a house like myself! Please just save for vacation and go as you plan. If you really want a timeshare you can buy mine for cheaper than what they are probably selling them new. TIMESHARE FOR SALE! 😂

Less than expected

I have to say, our room created a less desirable stay/ experience.  We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the room and the different fees that was not explained during the first human interaction. Animal friendly,  we were charged a fee to have our pet stay and a fee for "pet cleaning". Well let's just say, our pet was and is cleaner than the presented room. This cost was refunded back. Our stay,  to began with, the jetted tub, once entering, foreign hair was discovered around the tub. Get in the shower to rinse off, and noticed the toiletries in the shower, bottles were used to almost empty.  Reached for a towel underneath the sink and discovered all the towels were wet from a link from underneath the sink.  Thus causing us to air dry waiting on towels to arrive, an hour later. This was our incredible introduction to West Gate resorts.  To continue,  it was not explained to us by the hostess checking us in, that the treasure island cove park and paddle boats were not included in the hotel fees.  Incurring unexpected charges by the resort. Just one disappointment after another. BTW,  the freezer need to be defrosted. We would appreciate a refund or discounted price for our inconvenience and possible exposure due to the uncleanness of the unit, but Westgate still have not responded to our email Thank you sincerely

My husband and I were given a free stay…

My husband and I were given a free stay by Westgate Resorts in Myrtle Beach, SC. We knew that there would be a timeshare presentation to attend, but was worth the free trip, at least we thought it was. We sat at the table with an enthusiastic young man and his “financial advisor” who worked together to get us a fair price and discount it as much as possible. Despite the many questions we asked they were never answered clearly. They made us feel like we were making a huge mistake if we decided not to buy that day! They failed to mention any kind of annual maintenance fees, fees for transferring my unused weeks to the next year, or what the actual cost of this purchase would be which I was absolutely floored by. We financed $44,000 and when we saw the insane interest rate of 15.9%, we decided to pay off a huge chunk ($30,000) so our investment would cost us less. We soon came to realize that we made a huge mistake allowing this company to convince us this was a real estate investment that would increase in value. In reality this purchase will have me and my family in debt for life. We will never stay with Westgate again, and I will advise the world that no one else should ever stay there. All they care about is the commission gained by the debt you will be walking away with, not only you, but your children too!

Westgate? Run away!

We made a stop in Orlando on the way home to Atlanta from our honeymoon trip to Miami. Westgate bated us with free breakfast and free Disneyland tickets, broke and hungry free food and Disney Tickets sounded like the perfect way to end our honeymoon. We agreed to what was supposed to be a 90- minute presentation, but it turned into a talk that lasted ALL DAY! We were shown a unit that we really liked but were still very unsure. We wanted time to speak to a relative of ours who is in real estate, as the rep kept referring to it as a real estate investment. When we mentioned this, the rep all but called us STUPID for not taking the one time deal they were only able to offer that day! Tired of debating and going back and forth we FINALLY purchased. We were not informed of our right to cancel in 10 days, therefore by the time we were able to get some advice on our purchase we were already locked in.They played us into this purchase and since then, we have been put in nasty, dirty, rusted rooms. When we called to complain there was NEVER any resolution, except to upgrade our timeshare. They want your money, but you don’t get the quality! DON’T ALLOW THEM TO WOO YOU WITH THE MODEL UNIT, ITS THERE TO GET YOU EXCITED! ITS NOT WHAT YOU’RE PAYING FOR!

The hotel rooms are good...

The hotel rooms are good.... But the service not so good! Their main focus is getting you to commit to a Timeshare. Once we said NO NO AND NO. First off, I swear it seem like the service got worse, they are persistent, I told the first person NO, that I'm not trying to take on any more bills and he practically told me I don't know how to live and manage my money. The second person came to sign us out and tried to go over the same skit the first person did. Wait this was supposed to be 90 minutes but turned into three hrs. So the last pereon came to really sign us out so we could enjoy the rest of the day and she just about went over the same thing the 1st and 2nd person did. What part of NO didn't they understand? Dang! She got an attitude! I did all but cuss! Second off, if you're not a member you cannot park in the parking lot connected to the "Hotel". The parking is terrible after dark! Didn't know that they don't clean your room but I was offered a broom and some sheets. Yeah OK! this is not why I'm on vacation and this is why I'm paying resort fees. I asked the cleaner on the floor could I have towels after the ones I ordered didn't come and they sent up wash cloths instead. They told me they couldn't give me any but to call house keeping after I put the old ones outside my door🤷🏽‍♀️. The toilet seat is broken. No one came to fix it! No place to eat except the coffee table. Only members can use beach chairs and the cost is 40$ for 4 hrs. I thought there was a stove "Nope" only for members. My husband went down to make sure our bill was fine So we wouldn't have to stop to check out the night before, we couldn't use the "Free" WiFi after that, so I gave them 2 stars. I will stay somewhere else the next time I visit Myrtle Beach!

THE WORTS EXPERIENCE EVER!!

THE WORTS EXPERIENCE EVER!!At my stay I and many other people were waiting a minimum of 20 minutes for an elevator. Only 2 elevators were working and at some point only one was. Then the telephone was not working meaning that we had to go back down the not working elevator to tell the desk to bring our luggage and fix the telephone problem and I then returned to wait for an elevator to come down and return me to my room. No one ever came to fix the telephone problem making our stay very frustrating and annoying. The lamps did not work and some needed to be plugged and unplugged to turn on and off rather than a switch. Along with all of this the tv and remote control were not user friendly and the control also not working and needing new batteries. The safety box was also not working making it very difficult to feel like my belongings were kept in a safe place. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience at this hotel and it was very disappointing.

Do not fall for Westgate’s timeshare…

Do not fall for Westgate’s timeshare scam! My family & I attended a “seminar” in return for promised tickets to Sea World. The representative who met with us made us believe that booking vacations without owning a timeshare was way too expensive. We decided very early on we were not interested but when we asked about receiving the tickets, we were told we had to finish the tour. They continued by offering us timeshares at a very high price and we continued to say NO! The representative told us he could offer us cheaper timeshares from ones that were repossessed or foreclosed on. A red flag that was not clear to us at the time. We spent close to 6 hours with 4 different salespeople. Each one applied more pressure to buy than the last. I felt the only way out was to buy the cheapest they had. That was the worst mistake I could have made because they did not tell me about all the fees attached to owning their timeshare. Not only that but these fees get increase every single year with no justification! Not a single person on that sales team mentioned this. Be advised, Westgate will scam anyone they can break down during their “seminars”. Do not attend these!

ILLEGAL SALES PRACTICES

ILLEGAL SALES PRACTICES. If I had to describe my experience with Westgate Resorts, those are the words I would use. A meeting that was only supposed to last an hour ended up ending after 4 LONG HOURS OF HIGH-PRESSURE SALE TACTICS. My husband and I needed a vacation and sitting in a room listening to someone try to sell us something was not the way this was supposed to go. We were so mentally drained by the end of this that we accepted the last offer that came to the table. That’s the only way we were going to be able to leave and salvage the rest of our vacation. The paperwork that came after we said yes was breezed over which was odd seeing that they just took 4 hours pitching this to us. When we FINALLY left, we felt very uneasy. We tried to contact the salesperson MULTIPLE TIMES with no success, to later find out the person didn’t work there anymore, at least that’s what were told. When were finally able to get some real details, it was too late. They wore us down until we said yes and then disappeared conveniently during the cancellation period, so we were locked in with no way out.

“WELL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SALESMAN LIED…

“WELL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE SALESMAN LIED TO YOU.”Words straight out of a Westgate employee’s mouth, when I recently attempted to book 4 rooms for a vacation using our 2019 weeks. I was told they were my ownership was very low priority and Branson had no weeks available for the entire year! I kindly explained to them that in 2020 I was promised that they would reactivate 2018 and 2019 weeks plus the 2 weeks we had left in 2020 and they would hold the same priority as 2021 weeks because they went unused due to unavailability. All while our maintenance fees continue to rapidly increase! When we started this in 2008, we had 3 weeks with maintenance fees at $700 a year and now with 5 weeks EVERY OTHER YEAR our fees have skyrocketed to over $1,700 a year plus a $100 surcharge if you want to break up your years. No such fee was EVER brought up during the sales pitch. I am appalled at the amount of unprofessionalism this company displays! WARNING WESTGATE DOES NOT KNOW THE DEFINITION OF MORALS OR ETHICS!
