Review Time
I have been meaning to build a raised bed in my front garden for about a year but lacked time to build it from scratch. After looking at a few options online, I came across Woodblocx. I opted for a bespoke size and layout. I worked with Harry Paulin, who was fantastic. Communication and delivery times were great. I built it this weekend and was impressed with the timbers. I was expecting a few of the segments to be slightly warped, which is to be expected with timber as it’s a natural product, but to my amazement, everything was super symmetrical. If you have built Lego, you are already qualified to take this on. Just take your time and follow their instructions (they have loads of videos), and you will do great.
Placed an initial order for delivery in roughly10 days time. I was available earlier and Steven very kindly brought the delivery forward. Good value, great communication and fast delivery. The quality of the raised beds are excellent. You do get some green timber markings but this is normal and they fully dry out after time. If you follow the instructions and prepare the area accordingly its a fairly simple process to build them. We already have 5 woodblocx raised beds so we know the sturdiness and longevity of woodblocx materials. They may not be the cheapest option out there but you only get as good as you pay for and Woodblocx is worth every penny!
The raised pond I ordered came quickly on a large, heavy pallet and everything was included; the instructions are clear and the finished pond looks great. Making the ground level before you start is crucial but once you start layering the woodblox it gets easier with each layer. Takes a bit of time and effort to get the pond liner into the corners, but the final effect is great. I'd happily recommend them.
Very disappointed with some parts of the pond , some blocks don’t line up correctly and the top rail should be in 4 parts instead of odd lengths , this will probably save on shipping cost . With the metal corner strengtheners on the top rail doesn’t sit straight so having to adjust the gap which is a pain , really the angled corners should be routed out to accommodate metal L brackets , again probably costs ! The mitres on the corners are also poor on a couple of corners , all in all not worth the money . I’ve been generous with 2 stars as the delivery was on time and some of the blocks fit , I have just added this since reply , some of the top rails are also cracking already and there is light strap marks on some of the rails but luckily I’ve put at the back , pity can’t add pictures then you could make your own minds up
Refrain from squandering your hard earned money. In 2018, we made a decision to purchase an entire garden border solution, which included an integrated bench for our newly constructed home. Regrettably, within a few years, 2023, the entire installation has deteriorated significantly, despite meticulous lining of each flower bed. Consequently, the wood has deteriorated into an extremely costly and decaying mess, necessitating further expenditures for its replacement.
