I was a loyal customer. For three years I had an account. I was never late and always extended my trips when I saw I could, and there was on coming traffic or something to that kin. I was in shock when I saw a $50 late charge. After their customer service was of zero help in getting it off, even after I told them we extended it, there was no one after us and we were still there ten minutes after our initial drop-off time, they refused to look at any of the evidence that something went wrong in the app.
Like many other people here, I was a longtime customer of Zipcar and after a bad experience with them (getting locked out and receiving no assistance) and rightfully complaining, my account was closed months later only just after I was charged for the year. I'm not sure what's happening at Zipcar, but they recently have had horrendous customer service and frankly sketchy practices. Stay away from Zipcar - Uber and Lyft offer the same car rental service now.
I have been a loyal customer of ZipCar for over a year, regularly using their service for both personal and business travel. However, my recent experience with their customer service has led me to question the integrity and fairness of the company’s operations. To provide some context, I recently discovered an overcharge of 800 miles on one of my trips. Given that this was clearly a mistake or system error, I promptly reached out to ZipCar's customer service to resolve the issue. To their initial credit, the charge was reversed after speaking with their support team. However, what followed was both bewildering and unacceptable. Shortly after the refund was processed, my account was banned from the service. I was informed that this decision was made by ZipCar's "highest level" management team. No clear justification was provided, leaving me confused and frustrated. This decision to ban a long-standing customer who pointed out a legitimate issue is not just poor customer service; it's a blatant disregard for fair business practices. The lack of transparency and accountability on ZipCar's part raises serious questions about the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction. As a result, I am compelled to share this experience so that prospective users can be informed about the potential risks involved in using ZipCar. I would strongly advise potential customers to consider other car-sharing or transportation services that offer more reliable and respectful customer support.
I had been renting from Zipcar for about a year now. I rented a car for about 4 hours made an extension wasn't done with my things so I tried extending it for 24 hours was having a problem with my payment was on the phone with them for a hour and half were they couldn't take my payment for some reason had me return my rental They told me that the swap team was gonna recover the vehicle. I returned the vehicle. Received a email stating my account was closed and that I had disrupt the community. How can you take 2 payment for the car but wcnt take it for the last payment and close my account while saying I was disruptive. You need a better paying system and more professional people cause that was straight crap. I will never refer anyone to this company again.
I've been a Zipcar member since 2006. On the whole it's an excellent service, must cheaper than renting a car since it includes gas and insurance. I'm happy that Zipcar has placed more cars on the street instead of in garages. Much quicker access. Occasionally, there are snafus - car won't open, tire pressure or other lights on, car smells like weed. But overall it's really wonderful.
This company is a and the application process is a scam. I wasn't able to access rates prior to actually applying for a membership in which I was charged 25 dollars to process outside of the monthly costs which I assumed would pay for the application fee. After checking the rates and seeing that they charge over $100 per day for a vehicle, I attempted to cancel my application which there was no option for. I immediately called and asked for live help over the internet to rectify my mistake and cancel the application. No options available. I had to email support and was only contacted a full day later and was told that my membership could be canceled but only after being fully processed. You can't tell me there isn't an option to pull my application out prior to approval. This is a scam to keep the fee, which I was told was non refundable.
I joined zipcar many years ago when they weee brand new. At that time, you couldPick up a car at one location and drop it at another. There were designated zipcar locations conveniently located in most cities. Now that is no longer an option. I rejoined not knowing this and I was very disappointed. I tried to cancel my application but they refused to refund the fee even though I asked within a few minutes and never used my account. The rates are high and it is not a convenient service anymore. I don’t see the point.
