Booked Event insurance - on website it said policy would be emailed to me within a few hours. nothing received next day. Logged onto site to manage policy - nothing there.I tried contacting them no obvious phone no. , chat bot next to useless , so requested documents on their email contact page - still waiting following day
Absolutely disgraceful, immoral and unethical behaviour displayed by Allianz travel insurance arm.Having just finished a call with one of their agents, who is clearly trained to say 'no' to every argument against the way he has viewed the terms and conditions, I have been left frustrated, angry and now determined to take this higher to both the FCA and NatWest (the provider of this insurance) as a matter of principle all for the sake of £250 refund on one night's accommodation that they refuse to reimburse. On a recent holiday to Greece which included through ferry journeys from Sifnos to Santorini with a connecting ferry in Milos, the ferry company bought forward the second sector by 15 mins and therefore it was physically impossible to get off the first ferry and make the second ferry as the doors had closed and the ferry had already departed. Despite every effort to ask the hotel in Santorini to waive the first night charge, they understandably declined my request as it was within the cancellation period, we found ourselves having to spend a night in Milos, purchase accommodation and lose GBP407 for the first untaken night in our booked hotel in Santorini. There was no physical way of getting off Milos for the rest of the day either direct or indirect and we were therefore stuck until the following day when we could take the same ferry to Santorini but 24 hours later. Apparently, this is not a delay according to the agent handling my request. What I thought would be a simple claim has proved anything but especially as I am only going to get £250 (if they paid out) out of £407 I have lost. It is now with their customer complaints department who I'm sure given the comments I have read below, will be obstructive. However, Allianz if you bother to read these comments, I will be pursuing this through to the FCA/Financial Ombudsman, plus escalating this to your CEO if I have to, and taking this up with NatWest who are clearly offering a sub-standard product as part of their upgraded bank account package.
Totally disappointed with their claim processingRecently my Aer lingus flight from Indianapolis to Dublin was cancelled due to security incident at Dublin airport. So I made a claim to get my ticket fare refundIn spite of all the proof, they replied saying that policy will cover only severe weather and natural disaster which 0.1% probability of all other unexpected reasonsThis is total rip off from customers who is under impression that their trip is fully coveredI strongly advice not to buy this insurance policy when u book the flight I would give negative rating if there is any option, as this policy sounds like a scam
This company constantly contacts me even though I have called them asking to have my details removed, emailed them asking them to remove my details and unsubscribed from their website, yet they continue to harass me. GDPR clearly means nothing to this organisation. I have now reported them to Trading Standards. I have never encountered such an unprofessional organisation.
I recently identified an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account by this insurance company. I have never applied for, purchased, or agreed to any policy or service with them. I do not recognize this company, and I have no prior relationship with them. This incident is highly concerning and raises serious questions about how my financial information was obtained. I am in the process of disputing the charge with my bank and filing a formal complaint with the appropriate regulatory agencies.Consumers should exercise extreme caution when dealing with this company.
Made a travel/medical Insurance claim on 1st August 25, for my son who was ill on holiday upload ALL INFORMATION as required in the first claim after emails back and forth only to re uploading the same information as we did from day one only to be told a month later we need to make a new claim for a travel insurance refund only.Obviously 🙄 departments don’t talk to each absolute shocking service.. Don’t use..Claim No 2025/8207628 2025/7032651
Is this the worst insurance company ever? It would seem so. They can’t get even the basic details of a claim correct, don’t respond, call you the wrong name, ask you the same questions over and over even though you’ve answered. Run in the opposite direction and avoid dealing with these pirates.
The initial phone call to get our claim number was great. Lovely understanding staff. However when submitting the claim it became a nightmare. I submitted all evidence required but kept recieving emails saying more evidence was needed but no explanation of what they wanted. They ask you to email them back for more details but no response to your questions and you get the same email back. So I complained to customer service and started copying them into all emails where I just repeated a list of all the documents and resubmitted it all. It got sorted very quick after after that. It sent all evidence 5 times in the end! Also they tried to charge us excess from the newer rates for 2025. Our policy was bought in 2024 so I mentioned this. They then tried to charge us excess per person but I provided copies of our policy which said the excess was per policy not per person as it was a family policy. Customer service responded immediately and have given me a "good will gesture" which magically is the same amount they over charged us by. Read your policy, screenshot all evidence and copy in customer service and hopefully you won't be stuck dealing with it for months. We got it sorted in 4 weeks.
Took 5 months to settle claim, tried everything to avoid paying , delaying tactics saying they’d not received the claim, then the claim had been delayed between departments. They refused to pay for transport from the hospital ( other side of the island ) and final insult insisted on paying the the claim in £ when we’d payed in euros ! This was an opportunity to scam us as their exchange rate was massively loaded in their favour . Definitely wouldn’t use this company again
My son had a seizure on the way to the airport resulting in a hospital trip and missed flights. The medical bills were around £2000 and new flights etc were around £1000. This happened early August and a claim was made a day or two later. We are now a week away from Christmas and the claim has still not been paid and the hospital are chasing payment. All very stressful and unnecessary. Won’t be using them again. First and last experience with them.
