You’ll be on hold for 30mins they’ll take your policy number and mysteriously the phone will happen to cut everytime. They try to demoralise you so you give up with trying to get what is yours. Instead keep log and send them that as you’re entitled to any distress that they’ll put you through too.
Phoned seven times to discuss a warranty insurance. Cut off seven times after being on hold for upto 25 minutes each time. Phoned customer services three times. Twice they redirected me to the original phone line where I was told that waiting time was 30 minutes each time. Third time I was on hold for 10 minutes and gave up. This shower wasted three hours of my day and I still haven't sorted the problem with the policy. Absolutely useless
Booked the insurance with Allianzvia Eurostar. Our train to Paris from London was cancelled 3 hours before departure as a result of a fault in Paris station.Due to the cancellation being so close to departure we were unable to cancel our hotel booking and thus were charged by the hotel. We were unable get to Paristhrough no fault of our own. Allianz refused to cover the cost stating it was not a natural disaster. Awful, that such a large organisation acts in this manner. I would avoid booking this insurance. I’m shocked Eurostar has partnered with them. Book alternative insurance.
Had an issue with damaged baggage, rang up this morning and spoke to a very rude woman who told me as excess was £75 and my bag was only £35 then it wouldn't be worth it. I didn't have a problem with this as I have made a claim to the airline but she spoke in a patronising and unhelpful manner. I was just checking to see if my policy covered this instead.I said I didn't appreciate her attitude and wanted her name to make a complaint, which she didn't give. Not happy with the attitude of the customer service of this insurer and she needs to be retrained on how to speak to people with a friendly attitude.
I purchased travel insurance from Allianz for a trip to Paris, which I had to cancel due to a medical issue — my doctor scheduled a routine follow-up for my cancer recovery on the very day of departure.Allianz refused my claim, calling it a “pre-existing condition”. This was not a sudden illness, but a scheduled medical necessity. Their lack of empathy is astonishing. To make matters worse, I was asked to complete endless forms, which were then changed, forcing me to repeat the entire process — all seemingly designed to delay and ultimately deny my claim. This has been an appalling experience. I strongly urge others not to rely on Allianz. They will look for any excuse not to honour legitimate claims.#Allianz #TravelInsurance #CancerSurvivor #AvoidAllianz #InsuranceScam-
If there is minus stars i would choose. Terrible claim system to make it almost impossible to claim anything i had travel insurance with KLM my luggage arrived damaged and allianz asked for documents thats impossible to obtain. Do not waste money or time to book any insurance with them
Disgraceful way I have been treated. I had to rush back home from Canada to thankfully see my father before he died in hospital. I had 2 non refundable hotels booked in Iceland for the princely sum of £300. They are claiming I knew he was dying (which is true) although little did I know he would pass so quick from bowel cancer. I did manage to postpone the 3 day trip with the travel company in Iceland (£1900) which I obviously haven’t claimed for. Absolute scumbags in my period of grieving. NatWest should be ashamed of having their name associated with this disreputable company.
Absolutely disgusted!!Booked tickets for a concert however have had to change plans as a result of me being diagnosed with cancer and having to go through chemotherapy for 3 months. My wife requested a refund as per the insurance we took out and was declined saying that my cancer is classed as a pre existing condition as a result of my first cancer diagnosis in 2022.WTF????Are these people for real?I am absolutely flabbergasted and would NEVER use this company again and urge anyone to NOT take out their cover!!Disgraceful!!!
When booking a trip to Paris on the Eurostar, I took out travel insurance with their insurance partner, Allianz Assistance. Unfortunately, when I turned up at St Pancras on 7th March 2025, all Eurostar services to Paris were cancelled due to the discovery of a suspected WWII bomb near the Gare du Nord station. Eurostar gave me an immediate full refund. Allianz Assistance, however, refused my claim for reasonable trip cancellation costs citing an 'act of war' exclusion in their policy. They didn't even offer to reimburse my insurance premium despite the fact that the abrupt trip cancellation seemingly placed them under no risk whatsoever. I would recommend that you go elsewhere for your travel insurance.
