As someone new to the mystery shopping world, I couldn’t have asked for a better start than with Amber Arch's mastery shopping service. The onboarding process was incredibly smooth and efficient, and I was quickly matched with a well-paid assignment. What truly stands out is their excellent communication — the team is always available to answer questions, and their feedback is prompt, supportive, and constructive. It’s not only helped me grow with each assignment, but also ensured that clients receive reports of the highest standard and thoroughness.
I have been a mystery shopper for over 10 years and have completed a few thousand tasks, especially video shops in the motor trade. Amberarch is one of several companies I work for, and I have to say they pay well and offer easy and achievable tasks. The team appreciate what I do and are a pleasure to work for!
It has been great working with Amber Arch, the tasks requirements are always properly outlined and the staff replies within the timeframe for any queries. Only improvement I would request is to add more different types of tasks, if possible to add small travel expenses as well and an app to submit tasks would be great as well.
I started working with Amber Arch back in February, and it was actually with Amber Arch that I did my very first mystery shopping assignment. The team has been super friendly and spot on with communication and feedback. Even when I’ve made mistakes or misunderstood parts of an assignment, they’ve always been understanding and tried their best to help. There were a couple of times where I had issues with video uploads or technical things on my end, but the girls always tried to sort it out and support me.Special shout-out to Rachel, she’s been amazing and usually manages the assignments I go for. Super helpful and clear every time! You can really tell she cares about getting things done right and supporting shoppers, it really makes such a difference! 🙌Also, Stephanie deserves a mention too, she’s really quick with responses and has allocated assignments to me sometimes within minutes lol ⏱️ which is great and super efficient! One tip I’d give to new shoppers: "Always save your evaluation" as you go! 💡 I used to write my reports on my phone, so in the beginning, I lost a few reports because I forgot to save and the system timed out stressful stuff! 😩 Now I save my evaluations every few minutes, even after one or two mins, just to be safe lol 😆 It honestly saves a lot of hassle when you get home. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ is because I’m still getting used to the four-week payment cycle, it can be a bit tricky to track payments specially when you do assignments for different companies and they send you an invoice but Amber Arch doesn't. Maybe sending out a simple invoice or payment breakdown to shoppers would help keep things clearer.😃Overall, great company, great people, and I’d definitely recommend working with Amber Arch! Thanks again Girls you're the BEST! 💖 🫶
I've been working with Amber Arch for nearly a year now. I've enjoyed every shop - particularly the travel and apartment viewings in Manchester. The team are so supportive, I'm always paid on time and the briefs are really clear. It fits really well around my piano teaching job. I love going to places I wouldn't normally go to as well.
Have worked for Amber Arch now for a number of years. Always found them very pleasant to deal with. Briefs are always very clear and easy to follow. But if I've ever had a query they've always got back to me very quickly and been very helpful. They also pay for any work done in good time. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone interested in becoming a mystery shopper or who works for other companies. I work for a number of companies and find them one of my favourites to conduct work for. Hope to work with them again very soon.
I have completed over 100 assignments for this company since 2021. I enjoy their train based assignments and have always found the communication with the schedulers to be very good. The briefs are clear and easy to understand which is essential for these types of assignments. Payments are always agreed upfront and made by agreed dates. An enjoyable way of making a little extra cash.
I recently signed up with Amber Arch for my first assignment as a mystery shopper. With over 20 years of experience in customer-facing roles, I saw this as a great opportunity to put my skills to good use and earn a little extra income on the side.Initially, everything went smoothly — I responded to an email about a local assignment, and the assignment manager quickly confirmed me for the job. I logged into the portal and thoroughly read the brief twice to ensure I understood all the requirements. At the time, there was no photo included of the specific individual I was meant to assess — but more on that later. On the day of the assignment, I arrived early and observed the fundraiser discreetly for around 17 minutes while he was speaking with someone. When the opportunity arose, I engaged him in conversation and found him to be engaging, informative, and clearly passionate about the cause. I was genuinely looking forward to writing a glowing report about him. That’s when things took a turn. The reporting process was lengthy and repetitive — which I didn’t mind, as I wanted to do a thorough job. However, upon submitting my first completed report, the site timed out due to the time spent filling it in, and all my work was lost. Undeterred, I started again — this time using the “save progress” function after every section. Despite this, I encountered the same issue three more times. Even with my answers copied into a Word document to speed things up, I was repeatedly timed out and lost all progress.I emailed the assignment manager to explain the issues and let her know I would be away the following day but could submit the report later in the afternoon. I also called the next morning to explain again, only to be told this was “an individual issue” and that no one else had reported problems. I felt dismissed, as though my lived experience didn’t matter.Later that day, when I returned to complete the report, I noticed the assignment had been updated — a photo of the fundraiser I was supposed to assess had suddenly appeared. This photo was not included the previous day, which was deeply concerning. I immediately called to raise this issue and submitted photos of the individual I spoke with during the assessment. Unfortunately, I was met with little empathy. My credibility was questioned, and I was informed that I would not be paid for the assignment — despite the time, effort, and genuine intent I brought to the task. What’s most disappointing is not just the technical issues or the lack of payment, but the way the situation was handled. Rather than being supported, I felt dismissed, patronised, and accused. Both managers I dealt with seemed more focused on hiding behind terms and conditions than listening to what actually happened. This experience has left me extremely disheartened and disappointed. I wanted to start my journey with Amber Arch on a positive note, but instead, I walked away feeling unheard and unfairly treated. I hope the company reflects on how it manages new shoppers and handles feedback — because based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend them to others.
I have had experience working with this company for many years. The staff are always polite professional and helpful . Due to the nature of the industry technical issues can be problematic and sometimes unavoidable but I have always found them to be supportive and on my side and most importantly contactable when I need them to discuss any related job issues that might occur. One of the better mystery shopper companies that I have worked with for around 13 years. The assignments are generally clear and straightforward, payment is within a month, which is typical of most in the industry, there is at least one that is far quicker to pay but pays less and their reports are longer in the main.Obviously report lengths vary with the type of assignment but in general expect to spend 20 to 25 minutes completing that on-line. Make sure that you read the questions for the assignment before you shop, that way you'll know exactly what is required and what information you need to collect and remember. You choose how many, or few, jobs you want to apply for and, within the available window for that assignment, when you wish to do it.As with any mystery shopping company you need to consider the task and the location when assessing if it is worth the fee they offer. There isn't much point in travelling an hour each way to complete a 15 minute job paying £10 unless you are making that journey for other reasons. You can look at all the jobs available in the UK if you want to plan one in with a weekend away or visits to family. The office are quick to respond if you have any questions about an assignment both on the telephone and by email. One word of caution, and this applies to the other companies as well. If your assignment details change for ANY reason then reread the brief! You may be under the impression, or even be told, that it is just a change in scenario but that may also incorporate other changes.
