Review Time
For the past month An Post’s service has been terrible. Six of my parcels have been delayed, with four that were supposedly “out for delivery” yesterday never arriving and still not delivered today. Customer service keeps giving me the same repeated excuse about a “backlog” clearly nobody is fixing since it’s been a month and it’s still there. The app and tracking are just as unreliable, I still have parcels marked “out for delivery” that were delivered four months ago. I even received an email claiming a delivery attempt was made which customer service later confirmed it wasn’t. They refuse to let customers collect parcels directly from the depot even when it’s clear the deliveries aren’t happening which is just appalling because I imagine this would be an easy way to alleviate a backlog but clearly solutions isn’t what An Post wants.At this point, I’d rather pick my parcels up myself than deal with the constant delays and excuses. Terrified to think how much worse it’s going to be like now coming up to Christmas. Why is it that Amazon and DPD can somehow deliver on time while An Post has already made me wait 6 days for a package going from one Dublin address to another Dublin address? Postage isn’t free. Have you forgotten you are being paid to complete a service? Do your jobs properly!!!!
An Post sent me a customs invoice for an item which had been sent to me in Northern Ireland, from Canada. They told me that they would deliver it when I pay the invoice. I paid the invoice and 11 days later the parcel is still not delivered. I contacted them and they have told me that they won't deliver it but are going to return it to the sender. I am disgusted and infuriated by this treatment.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue with An Post. I’ve received multiple “we’ll deliver it tomorrow” emails, and the tracking status clearly shows “out for delivery” — yet the parcel never arrives and gets sent back to the depot instead.I work from home and I’m always available, so there’s no reason for these failed deliveries. When calling the local office, I was given answers like "there was no more room in the van", which I guess speaks for itself. Now it’s showing as "out for delivery" again, but honestly, there’s no way to know if it will actually arrive today.People plan their day around these deliveries — sometimes they’re important or time-sensitive — and wasting a whole day waiting for something that never comes is just unacceptable.An Post really needs to improve its tracking accuracy, provide estimated delivery times by area, and ensure a more reliable process. Currently, the entire system appears careless and frustrating to customers.
I sent an parcel (clothes, gifts etc) from brisbane Australia to kerry ireland 15/10/2025 (when i was moving home). An post received it the 24th - passed customs- 4 days it was sitting in Dublin being sorted for delivery, 28th it was sent from Dublin to Sydney Australia.They said it couldn't be delivered - i live down a dead end road - no delivery was attempted- no phone call made (irish phone number was on the parcel) no email - and it was at home every day it was out for delivery - now its in Australia again and im in ireland - a disgrace of a service useless not the first time an post has let me down
An Post are responsible for being the National Postal service for Ireland however they pick & choose what days during the week they deliver not only parcels but letters as well.For well over a year now they do not deliver anything in my area on a Monday & now mid week as well, the service is just getting worse as time goes on.Anytime I speak to customer service they dont want to hear about it & do not escalate the issues people are facing to the right people, if in fact there is anyone in An Post who cares.Being cheaper isn't always a good thing if you cannot provide a basic level of service.
