Lack Transparency w/ Refunds

Unfortunately, due to the devastation Hurricane Melissa left on Jamaica, I had to cancel my vacation. My all-inclusive stay at the Hyatt Rose Hall was booked through my travel agent using Apple Vacations. Hyatt offered full refunds to guests because the resort will not be able to receive visitors until 2026.When my travel agent first contacted Apple Vacations about canceling, they stated there would be a $50 per-person deduction. After further inquiries, Apple Vacations finally agreed to refund the full amount. However, the catch was that it would take up to 30 days to process.Throughout the entire process, Apple Vacations refused to communicate with me directly, insisting that all questions—even simple ones—go through my travel agent. Today marks the 30-day mark, and I still have not received my refund. This experience has been incredibly frustrating. In a situation caused by a natural disaster, consumers should not have to chase down information or wait indefinitely for money owed to them. I expected far better service, transparency, and responsiveness from Apple Vacations.

Unapologetically stranded us in DR

Apple Vacations unapologetically left us stranded in a foreign country. We have booked through Apple Vacations many times, both family vacations and getaways for the two of us, but never again. We booked an all-inclusive package for a wedding in the Dominican Republic. The last day of our vacation, we used the confirmation code provided by Apple for our flight home & no tickets were found by the airline. When we called Apple (about 6 times), we were informed that our ticket had been canceled and the only thing they could do was sell us the exact same flight for full price a second time! Of course, we were not going to be foolish enough to trust them with it again, but we also had no choice but to repurchase the tickets (directly through the airline this time). I hate to think what would happen to people who didn't have the resources to repurchase tickets that had already been paid for or if you were traveling with a large group.

We booked the Waldorf Astoria Dubai…

We booked the Waldorf Astoria Dubai through Apple Vacations, and while the resort looks nice on the surface, our experience has been incredibly disappointing. The biggest issue is the outrageous food and drink prices. Meals and beverages are shockingly expensive — far beyond what you would expect, even at a luxury property. It feels like you’re constantly being overcharged just to enjoy basic dining. When we realized how unreasonable it was, we tried to move to another resort. That’s when we were told our stay was completely non-refundable. The problem? Nowhere in our Apple Vacations travel documents did it say this resort was non-refundable. Had we known, we never would have booked here. Now we are stuck here through September 1st, unhappy and frustrated. For a Waldorf-branded property and for Apple Vacations, this lack of transparency and fairness is unacceptable.Yes, the resort itself is beautiful, but the experience has been ruined by poor communication, sky-high food and beverage pricing, and the inability to leave without losing all of our money.I was told by Apple they are just a broker…they obviously don’t care about customers experiences. Long hold times, can’t speak to anyone in the US. What a joke. The Mullens family has really outdid themselves 👌👎

Apple Vacations Failed to Protect…

Apple Vacations Failed to Protect Customers – Unsafe Experience at RIU Montego Bay I am writing this review regarding Apple Vacations and the handling of a disturbing and unsafe incident at RIU Montego Bay, Jamaica, which was booked through Apple.During my stay on July 18-22 2025, another guest attempted to break into my room. After failing, he urinated and defecated in front of my door. I reported this immediately to resort staff. Security removed the individual from my doorway but allowed him to return to his room with no consequences. The next day, the resort manager admitted she had “no authority” to compensate me.I escalated the issue to RIU corporate, who denied responsibility and pushed the matter back to Apple Vacations. Apple’s response was to offer me a $150 travel credit for this traumatic and unsanitary incident. I find this resolution unacceptable and dismissive. This was not a minor inconvenience — it was a serious breach of guest safety, security, and sanitation. Apple Vacations advertised this property as a safe, all-inclusive experience, and failed to ensure accountability when a major safety issue occurred. Offering $150 credit trivializes the incident and shows a lack of responsibility for customer welfare.I want other travelers to know: if something goes wrong, Apple Vacations will not stand behind you. Be very cautious booking through them.

The rotten Apple in the bunch

The rotten Apple in the bunch. Booked a honeymoon in Aruba, at RIU resort. The resort was awful, and Apple could care less.

Just returned from Royal Decameron…

Just returned from Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach. When we arrived we discovered the whole resort had not had hot water in the rooms for 2 weeks. No hot water for first 5 days of our stay. Would have been nice if Apple would have notified us prior to our departure to give us the option to reschedule.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS

If I could give negative stars I ABSOLUTELY would!!! I have booked before from Apple Vacations (AV) and didn't have an issue, which is why I did this time. We had flights changed and then finally cancelled in a matter of a week. Called AV, and it was a headache trying to get refunded for my flights, I was told once I found new flights to reach out and that I would be assisted with the flights and given a discount. I did just that, and was told no discount for flights, and now flight costs are astronomical! I was then given a new itinerary, which showed that I was charged a fee for essentially not paying in full. I was also charged for shared transportation which is supposed to be "complimentary" according to their website. That's just the first problem! Since these changes have been made, I now cant access my trip online. Can't see my itinerary, cant make payments, NADA! It tells me to contact customer support... I've been trying for a week, chat cant help me - tells me to call, I call it gives you the "new text to chat" option, tried that... useless... told to call.... I call and literally on hold for HOURS waiting for someone to answer, how is that possible?!?!?! I've been calling, texting, chatting for days, and don't get a live person on the phone, and get my issues resolved!! But they have no problem taking your money right away! They also said to reset my password, clear my cache/cookies/history, did all that NADA.... then I was told if was a technical issue on my end, funny because all the different devices I've tried, all say the same the thing.... so who really has the issue!! Then to boot, I am told from the representative on text that once I pay in full, I can see my documents. Which is it?!?! Technical issue on my end, pay in full.... THEY ARE RIDICULOUS and a HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS BUSINESS!!!

Absolutely NO customer service

Absolutely NO customer service. First their website wouldn’t t take my payment. Then I’d get an error trying to see my fully paid itinerary. The information about the resort and amenities was outdated and they failed to disclose policies about it being a non-smoking resort EVEN OUTDOORS!!!! Totally ruined our vacation. DO NOT USE APPLE VACATIONS. They used to be good (10 yrs ago) now taken over by scammers

Absolutely HORRIBLE service

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. My husband was diagnosed with cancer a week before we were to leave. His treatment needed to start the day we were to leave. We did not want to travel to a third world country with him sick and could possibly get sick there. We had purchased travel insurance but we have been fighting them for months to try and get our money back. They only want to issue us a travel credit that expires in a year. We do not know where this cancer diagnosis is going to lead us in the next year so not even sure we will be able to travel. It appears that they got the money and have no intentions of a refund. Thank you Apple Vacation for being kind caring human beings! So tired of these money hungry business that have no care or concern for anything but getting their money. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! I will be posting wherever I can about their care and concern in this matter!

STAY AWAY!!!

STAY AWAY!!!Apple Vacation is a total scam. We booked at trip to Cancun between 2/10-2/16. Group of 6. I purchased their travel protection as well. 3 days before the trip, one of our members damaged the knee and couldn't make it with us. I immediately informed apple about this. I was on the phone for 6 hours with them while they were making adjustment. Today is 2/25 and I still haven't received my travel credits. I call every day and spend hours on the phone trying to resolve this matter. Their agent tells me that they are waiting for resort's response on how much and if I will get the credit. Why do I have to wait for resort's decision when I purchased Protection!! No one gives me the answer. What if resort wont give me any refund? What's good of this protection when they cannot refund you when emergency happens? BTW, I sent Apple all the paperwork from the emergency room, confirming that the person couldn't travel. This is a horrible experience. Apple Vacation is a total scam.
