Review Time
Purchased an Asko dishwasher from The Good Guys on 27 March. Delivery was booked for 1 April as pickup wasn’t an option. I took a day off work specifically to be home.On 30 March, I received a text asking me to confirm delivery. I replied “YES” within 4 minutes. Despite this, I received another message the next morning at 8:25am, and then at 9:30am was told my delivery had been cancelled because I “hadn’t responded”. The text messages clearly show that I did respond, so this was entirely their error. At the time, I was working overtime to make up for the day off I was about to take and by the time I saw this, the call centre was closed. When I called the next morning, the first staff member was helpful and escalated the issue. The state manager who called me back was dismissive, sounded annoyed that she had to deal with it, and took no accountability whatsoever. She couldn’t reinstate the original delivery date and instead pushed it to the following day, offering “free installation” as if that somehow makes up for lost income and wasted time.Taking another day off wasn’t financially viable. I made that clear and said I needed a firm delivery window so I could coordinate with work. I was told it would be the first run of the day, 7:30am and that I’d receive a 2-hour window. The next day I received a text at 8:00am saying delivery would be between 8:30am -10:30am.When the driver arrived at 9:40am, he was friendly, but he was a Hertz delivery driver, not an Asko installer. He actually laughed when I asked about installation because he hadn’t been told and isn’t qualified to do it. After everything that had already gone wrong, I was then expected to chase it up myself. I haven't and won't.This whole experience has been a mess from start to finish. A confirmed delivery was cancelled due to their own system failure, it cost me time and money, communication was poor, management was dismissive, and the so-called resolution still didn’t deliver what was promised. Even on the rescheduled day, the job wasn’t completed.Completely unacceptable. God forbid if the dishwasher ever needs servicing…

We had an Asko dishwasher installed by Asko. After 2 weeks 3 screws holding the machine fell out so you could not close the machine. Asko sent out a repair person. He advised that he could repair temporarily but it may require a cabinet maker to firm up the supports. 3 weeks later another screw came lose. Asko sent out the same incompetent crew that didn't do the original installation correctly. They were smug, rude and replaced one screw rather than follow instructions. DO NOT BUY ASKO, their installation crews are incompetent.
Our 4 and a half year washing machine mechanically failed due to the spiderarm snapping and after jumping through hoops with sporadic communication for 8 weeks they sent an email to the wrong email telling me that due to the age and lack of service history they could not assist with the repair. I only found this out after I had called chasing this as quotes had been supplied to have it fixed, it had gone to management review twice and the incredibly rude and condescending customer service agent informed me that I had been emailed 2 weeks ago (in that time I had emailed them twice to follow up what was happening and received no reply). I told him that's not my email and was not on any of the correspondence. I cannot believe we have been led on for 2 months to be sent a two sentence response and I had to deal with an arrogant service agent 'mansplain' to me that they had informed me. Under Australian Consumer Law this type of failure should be fixed by the manufacturer even if no longer under warranty considering the machine was only 4 and a half years old and cost $1700! Which was also the cost of the repair. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! This will be lodged with the ACCC.
I was strongly recommended Asko by Zarin at The Good Guys Moore Park but the appliance broke down after only 4 months. I later read other Google reviews and found that many people are in the same situation. They were recommended Asko by The Good Guys (taking commissions per sale for sure!) and the products became faulty soon after purchase.Asko Australia doesn’t have its own technicians and outsources repairs to Best Repairs in Alexandria. They are close to me but it still took a week for them to come out (the same experience others mentioned in reviews). After the visit, they sent a report and a repair approval request to Asko but Asko kept saying they never received the emails. This information was told to me by Best Repairs, and I also have a recording of the conversation. They mentioned this is an ongoing issue with Asko.I eventually requested a refund, but the Asko service team said they would “escalate the issue to management” which is exactly the same response other people reported in their reviews.PLEASE save yourself time and money. Go somewhere other than The Good Guys and stay away from Asko.
We have been trying to get out 1 yr old dishwasher fixed now for almost 3 months now, 6 visits late and it STILL broken!! AND we are be denied a replacement or refund! We are of course, have since sort legal action and loged a complaint with fair trade. WE WILL NOT GO NEAR AN ASKO PRODUCT AGAIN!!!!
Asko apparently prides itself on Customer service however my experience with spare parts was less than satisfactory . The operator was curt and rude and dismissive .. no spare part available no solution offered no alternative given other than ‘Google it’ .. not helpful and with a bad attitude .. would not recommend !
