First the bird scooter's GPS. It did not work when I was on Carling ave bike path and it did not work when I was on Churchill's Bike path either. And, yes when I was using those bike paths, I was traveling in the correct direction. I believe the problem was the GPS assumed that I was on the sidewalks, not the-bike-paths. Also the map provided by the app didn't function very well. It just kept telling me that there was a parking space nearby. But every time I tried to zoom in or zoom out on my phone to see street names and specific details they weren't available. As a result I just had to drive around and look for some more scooters parked in some random place on the side of the road. Moreover $2 a minute is too much money. Bird should fix their map so that it says street names and addresses. They should charge less money. And they should have physical signs, bike racks, or something like a bus shelter. In other words somthing that has the company's brand name. So, that people know exactly where they can park the scooters to end the ride.
Should be a big fat 0 even negative rating for this scum bag rip off artist company. Iam sure they loose a ton money from all the abusers of the service. I witness street people and thugs that have no respect for the "ride share honor based system." But the company BIRD treats its customers that actually take and respect there property as suckers they are for trusting them. On a two day trip to Austin I used there scooter rentals service and they raped my credit card by over billing nearly ever transaction through their lousy and corrupted application. BE AWARE OF THIS MAFIA OPERATION.
When the app doesn’t work and the scooter won’t unlock they charge you for each time you Try to unlock the stupid thing, I had 14 separate bogus charges, which froze my credit card because of fraud. It’s disgusting….I will be reporting them to my credit card company.
I foolishly put up $30 on account thinking that this might be a useful was to get around downtown Memphis when the trolley is down. The BIRD that I got on seemed had a screen which was working fine and a headlamp that worked fine so I engaged the machine. I pushed off with my foot and started it. It went slowly about ten feet. The battery was dead. I was charged $4.67. I have contacted them repeatedly and have never even got a code to send in a reply to stop the use of my card, to take my card off their servers, to get a refund or to get my money put back in my bank account. I write a lot of google review and have over a million hits. I am going back to all of my reviews and adding my BIRD expereince. I don't want anyone to deal with these crooks.
