Fraudulent changing practices over and over again. Using a bird to get around in a city is about 5x more expensive that owning a car. They regularly charge my card over $70 per day for 2 15 minut trips, it’s insane! They try to hide it by constantly “pre billing” in fixed amounts, so if you do a single trip they will bill you 5 times over the next days in amounts of 7.99. It’s insane!
At 04:15 AM, I picked up my phone, unlocked it, opened the Bird app, paid for a Bird+ subscription, locked the phone, and put it back exactly where I had left it when I went to bed, all this while fast asleep.Sarcasm aside, I woke up yesterday morning, checked my phone, and was greeted with an email receipt of a Bird+ subscription, the email timestamp was 04:15 AM. I immediately opened a support ticket for an unauthorized charge with all the details.I waited for a full workday (US time) and finally received an email asking me to rate the customer support I had received. The thing is, I received none; no one got back to me, total silence. Apparently I was even assigned a customer support agent called "Doug", well maybe you shouldn't keep "Doug" on your payroll. My bank told me I could dispute the charge, but as I have no evidence, I decided not to pursue this further. If the company was domestic, I would've filed a police report for fraud. Also judging by other people's reviews, credit card frauds seem to be their core business.
SCAM:BANK HACKERS!! Bird hacked bank accounts #CALGARY you need to stop this company from stealing from tourists and Calgary residents. ON HOLIDAY all our bank cards were cut off because of BIRD. on vacation, no money, no cards. BIRD you owe my family money and time and a holiday. Why is Calgary allowing this company to exist? #SCAMMERS #BANKHACKERS MINUS STARS !!!!!
I was charged 149$ for 15 minutes!! The charges in my acct are fishy. 10 charges of $6.20 4 of $7 2 charges of 22$ and 19$ and more. Totaling 149$ ! Had to cancel my card and dispute because they wouldn't do anything about it over the phone
Was gifted a BirdAir for X-Mas 2021. Quite pricey. $500. While I love riding it, I noticed very early on that anytime you take a short hiatus from using the scooter, the battery goes down to fumes where it won’t power on even with the charger plugged in. I initially thought it was a battery issue as the charge wouldn’t seem to hold. But come to find out this is just the norm. I spoke with a rep over the phone and found out that they have a tool in the repair center which essentially brings the charge back. Won’t share with me what it is. But for $50 in shipping and $100 “repair cost” they’ll fix it for me. Just don’t with these guys. Best Buy has discontinued selling them. The customer support is abysmal. One of the more shameful experiences I’ve had for nearly two years trying to reach a peaceful resolution with them. Seeing their scooters in cities like Austin (TX) and Milan (Italy) makes me sick people are contributing to their business. I would 100% spend the extra money on any other scooter as it’ll save you the time, headaches and money in the long run.
