Carpenters Solicitors managed my claim against the third-party insurers following a high-speed road traffic collision, for which the other party accepted full liability. I was referred to Carpenters by my own insurers.Initially, communication was disappointing — emails went unanswered and telephone calls were not returned. However, once my claim was transferred to Michael Atherton, the level of service improved considerably.Although email responses could still be delayed and I would have appreciated more regular progress updates, Mr Atherton was consistently available by phone. He took the time to understand my queries, provided clear and informative explanations, and guided me through each stage of the legal process with professionalism.My claim was concluded more quickly than I had anticipated, and I was satisfied with the final settlement negotiated on my behalf. Overall, while the initial experience was frustrating, the handling of my case by Mr Atherton was efficient and reassuring, and I was pleased with the outcome.

I can't believe how useless these solicitors are. I had a RTC in April 2023.The third party accepted liability way over a year and a half ago.I was told that the third party was disputing the salvage costs.The communication with carpenters is non existant as you have to do all the contacting as they don't keep you informed.I have had different handlers all of which have been as bad as each other.The court hearing was scheduled today and my Counsel were are no show leaving me in the lurch.The defense solicitor turned up and I contacted carpenters to find out what was going on.The hearing was scheduled at 10am and the phone call I made was lasting till after 10am.I was told they had a problem with obtaining Counsel and requested I ask for an adjournment with the judge.The adjournment was not granted and the case was dismissed.I wasn't told that Counsel wasn't going to turn up as I had to find that out myself by calling at the last minute.The case handler Michelle young couldn't have cared less considering her tone of voice saying that "they can't obtain Counsel in 15 minutes".Bearing in mind this has been going on since April 2023 it seems carpenters solicitors deliberately sabotaged this case and used me as a scapegoat.I have never been so embarrassed in my life being used this way as they were adamant that I turn up to the court hearing. As well as making me do a witness statement.All that time and preparation for nothing.I had to use my holiday days for this as well as travel costs to be treated like scum.Considering after the hearing today, I had no follow up phone call or email asking how the hearing went. This just proves to me that they couldn't care less and just threw me under the bus.You should be ashamed of yourselves treating people like this and I WARN PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY FROM THESE SOLICITORS.I will be making an official complaint into this conduct as they can't get away with treating clients like this.Case reference SOU0608/09719
In the early stages of our claim, we dealt with different Carpenters Group representatives which was unsettling. However since we have dealt directly with Gemma Hennen, we were able to feel confident that we were making progress with our claim. Gemma's communication and correspondence have been excellent. It has been a long road to settling the claim, but thanks to Gemma's help and best efforts, we got there in the end.
