Review Time
Our experience seems similar to that of many other low-star reviewers. We ordered a door and windows in September, and there was a complete lack of communication from Champion until mid-December. Once I finally reached a human and the install day came, ALL FIVE of our windows were the wrong size. Before realizing none would fit, the installer shattered one of the old ones, so he had to put the new one in anyway...with a ton of gross-looking foam around it to "make it fit." We later found glass shards on our daughter's floor and bed.The estimate is now at six weeks for all new windows, and our door is MIA - no one seems to know when it will come in. There has been no apology or offer for compensation. "Be patient and don't be upset" is all we were told.
My wife and i put down a 25,000 deposit in Aug. of last year. We have not heard a word from anyone and we have made many calls to them. We are told someone will call you back, it does not happen. I think legal action is going to take place here so we can start working on getting our money back. I will never again go to the company with all the BS. Never again. Please do not give them money.
Don’t use them!! We had 13 windows replaced that are leaking, we see water dripping on the inside. We have been trying for over 6 months now to get Champion to fix it and they don’t answer, don’t call you back, pawn it off on someone else, tell you it’s an insurance claim then nothing happens…. We have been calling every other day with nothing. Even had one of their reps hang up on my husband. We now have soft walls around the windows and our trim is pulling away from the wall from warping. Even one of their guys that came out to check it out (not fix anything mind you) showed me where there’s damage. You can even see where drops are coming in and the caulking on the inside has failed. On top of that 2 of them are installed crooked and two had wrong grids…it’s unbelievable. You can also see that they used clear caulk on the inside of one and it’s not paintable. Do yourself and your home a favor and don’t use them. What good is a warranty if they won’t do anything about it!! This has been such an awful experience and now I’m worried about water and moisture in my walls that’s been coming in for a year or so since we had them installed and who knows there could be mold now due to their lack of taking this seriously.
Their “unbeatable” warrantee service is a joke – worse a fabrication. Tod Dixon should be ashamed of himself. I have been waiting for settlement of a warrantee claim filed in early 2021. I would have filed the claim in 2019, however I was told that due to COVID-19 there would be no service calls performed. The order for the replacement door was made on the 16th of March 2021, after a lengthy wait for a warrantee specialist to visit my home. It is now the 30th of December 2021 and there has been no resolution. I have made frequent attempts to contact Champion and get an update, however there is always someone in the communication chain that cannot be reached to provide a status. This is outrageous, and if my company behaved like this we would be out of business.Update: 13-Jan 2022Contacted them last week. The normal excuse that they are waiting from a response from someone WITHIN the company who appears to be ignoring the request. This really occurs in companies? If I do not get a response in my company I have a clear path to escalation - if need senior executives. I was told I would have an update call by Tuesday 11th - it’s not Thursday the 13th. I will call again tomorrow and expect no better. Tomorrow I go to the BBB and 5 NBC DFW to see if the can get a response,
This Company is failing due to their shoddy business practices. 5 Years ago we bought 8 replacement windows. Going into the transaction I did my due diligence and found out what these windows should cost. The sales person that did the estimate was about 30% too high on the price of a retailer and probably more since they are the manufacturer. The sales person was surprised and said let me look over the numbers again. Then said I was right he was charging for 10 windows by mistake and not the 8 that should have been quoted. He thought that the Kitchen and laundry windows were being replaced as well, even though he never measured those. He then reworked the numbers and gave us an aditional 15% off, 15% off of an inflated estimate. The numbers did come in at where I felt they should be so we signed the contract. The install and windows went flawless.Fast forward 5 years and now we wanted the other 2 windows replaced. Again I did my due diligence and found out what the 2 new windows should cost ($5000), but since they are the manufacturer I thought that we could get that down another 10%, especially since they were running a 30% off promo. Again the sales person came out measured the two windows and opened a huge book to the first couple of pages flipped back and forth a few times like he was doing something, it was obvious he was not doing anything that would allow him to calculate anything. Then just wrote down a number on a piece of paper ($10500) then wrote under it 30% discount, punched that into his calculator. Then looks up at me sitting there with my mouth hung open and eyes wide shaking my head. Then he said, "But since you are a former customer I can give you an additional 20% off." He does a quick calculation and gives a a 20% of the $7350 total to bring it down to $5880 and tells me that is a full 50% discount. Any 6th grader can look at this ridiculous calculation and see that is not 50%, so I told him exactly that. I was just waiting for him to leave at this point. He saw my disinterest at this point and then fell into used carsalesman mode. "Let me talk to my manager." Calls a number and I can hear a recording in the background. Then tells me that his manager has said he cannot discount the windows this much unless I sign a contract today. They make a decent window but their sales tactics are ridiculous and dishonest.
So far, the only thing Champion has done on time is cash my deposit check. Sales person was Danny. Called multiple times to check on the scheduled install of siding. Was told he would check and call me back, 3 different instances and that never happened. Called the install manager twice, left voicemail and no response. Called the service center, was told they would check and have someone call me......Horrible responsiveness, can only assume the same for quality of service. Instead of a canned review response asking me to call, try something different and follow through with calling someone back.
I signed a contract with champion for a patio sliding glass door and transom . They took my 50% deposit and 3 weeks later I get the deposit back with no explanation. After contacting my sales rep(Jeff Hass) who knew nothing about this , i was told that tChampion was not honoring the contract , that they had a price increase and the new price for the same materials and spec was now going to cost me 32% more. Champion is either dishonest or incompetent, maybe both …. Very disappointing
I normally try to stay away from writing bad reviews or talking badly about businesses, especially in this day and age when things are difficult for everyone. However, this is a very big exception because we tried to give them the benefit of doubt for months but they have wasted so much of our time that I’m done…So this is a warning to everyone to steer very clear of Champion Windows and Siding. I have been on a rollercoaster with them for over six months and at no point has it gotten better, only continually worse. Unlike most other companies and services, our problems have nothing to do with supply issues or backorders, just pure incompetence. The windows are good quality but not worth the horrific customer service. We originally went with them because of their warranty, but now feel it is worthless because warranties are only as good as the people backing them up. We are still waiting to hear about the status of windows and doors that were supposed to have been delivered and installed four months ago. Here's a short recap of some of our experiences: the company is nearly impossible to contact, they installed grided windows when they were supposed to be gridless, they’ve lost orders, they've stood us up numerous times for scheduled appointments, they delivered the wrong size doors, they delivered cracked windows, many of the windows installed had glue all over them, and the large picture window has defects. I have created a timeline of all the issues we've had and are still having with them, it’s already eight single-spaced pages and growing. But I’ll spare you the book and just say, save your time and money and find another company.
We added a sunroom to our home about 3 years ago if that and the finish on the outside of the patio was left unfinished..I mean it looked terrible to the point where they should have been embarrassed..But when I complained about it and they came out to look at it which they could see plain as day,I was told they could not help me...You didn't even finish so what do you mean..They did NOT apologize and agree to complete the job they started and were paid for only to get smart with me and leave my patio unfinished along with leftover concrete in my yard...This representative looked at the unfinished base of the patio with chunks of concrete missing and concrete they left in my yard and said goodbye...Basically leaving me thinking that yes we messed it up and we're not fixing it or cleaning up our mess we left..And if they don't believe me, well I have video and pictures...I had to come out of my pocket and pay someone to finish their job...They don't deserve the 2 stars I gave them...
