Over the years I have spent hundreds of pounds with Crafters Companion buying everything from spectrum noir to ink pads, dies, embossing folders card stock, stamps but no more, this company is not interested in their customers, they have sold stamps which were described as hand drawn but turn out to be images taken from the internet and traced, they were traced so well when the stamped image is laid over the original photo you can’t see the difference. when this was brought to their attention they decided to investigate themselves after which they released a very ambiguous statement, no one can agree what it means and they refuse to clarify it, indeed many posts to their Facebook page have been deleted. There are 9 stamps which they will not be selling in the future but are saying are okay to use despite the owner of one of the images saying he has not given permission and asking people not to use the stamp. They will never get another penny of my money, I will support more trustworthy companies from now on.
I was always a supporter of CC, even attending craftaganza some years ago. However having worked on sheena Douglass design team a copyright issue came up around 9 years ago. It all was swept under the carpet. Sheena continued to allegedly design/draw artwork that yourselves manufactured into stamps etc. Surely between designing and production stages there has to be some contract signed that states this is original artwork before anything commences.... in the SD instance clearly not or if there was it was lies. Why did it take so long for something like this to blow up in the air as bad as it did. What checks do you do to protect the integrity of these artists who have had their IP stolen????Despite the image & artist investigations done through a caring Facebook group, taking weeks, did you then issue a statement saying all bar 9 were ok to use when one designer in particular was not contacted yet his design stolen and allegedly ok to use????? Did you just use the information from the Facebook group, from a mole inside the group, or genuinely carry out checks yourselves. Why was this one in particular lied about? Why were Facebook comments being deleted from your pages when they were in your eyes negative towards your business? A business needs to act on negatives not just sit back rest on laurels on positives. Constructive criticism is healthy. Perhaps if all this had been out in the open, been honest , not deleted, and kept your customers informed every step of the way then there would not be so many poor ratings on here.I am disgusted to have been involved in the helping to make money for SD and CC over the years and will now be thinking twice about ever purchasing again. What actions are being taken against the alleged designers who stole the artwork in the first place? Very very poor company with no morales
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!What was once a respectable company have tarnished themselves by profiteering through copyright theft, dishonesty, and mis-selling. Crafter's Companion do not have an ounce of integrity, moral fibre, or decency and I, (like many others), shall never buy from them again. Crafter's Companion are a disgrace and have tainted the crafting industry with their actions.
Not only have they taken images from the internet and turned them into stamps, with little if any alteration done to them and apparently little effort made to acquire use of copyrighted images. But now it turns out that one of them is an image of a murdered British actor, William Terris. A pretty well-known one in his time, so no excuses that he only trod the boards in his hometown as an extra. A greetings card with a murdered man's face on it, just what everyone wants. CC need to exercise some care, consideration and due diligence when creating new products, and they also need to spend more time than they have in sorting this out properly and refunding their many, many customers who, understandably, are not happy (to put it mildly).
I will not be buying another item from this company. They have sold stamps which are supposedly hand drawn and they are actually images taken off the internet. This company has not held their hands up and admitted they were wrong, ignored my messages to them, given announcements that no one can understand and deleted loads of my posts on facebook. They think that certain people are being nasty but we are only stating the truth. I have spent a lot of money with this company and being disabled and unable to work i feel they have taken advantage of honest crafters.
I had problems with a die some years ago and sent it back explained the problem and you sent it back straight away saying there was nothing wrong with it still cannot use it so I have never bought another die from you your customer service is bad also since you have been with hochanda it's all money money money I used to buy alot from you but no more
They have admitted that they were selling stamps of images that were taken from the internet without copyright permission. They have still yet to make a statement explaining why they were advertising these images as hand drawn, when it is blatant that they are digitally traced, and why they have a written statement which states that the images can continue to be used even after they have admitted breech of copyright. They are not responding to questions and if you dare ask they will claim that it is us that are being unreasonable! Not once have they offered to refund anyone who has bought these stamps, which they have sold dishonestly.
