Placed an order in the evening and…

Placed an order in the evening and called next morning to cancel ( changed my mind). Did an online chat early next morning. Was told order was being processed, which is untrue because when I look at my order status it has not even moved from order received and this is now mid afternoon. I was told I could go ahead and return the item when delivered and asked was there anything else they could help me with!!?? Help is far from what the chat was. What would possibly be so troublesome with cancelling my order?! I had to reiterate all my contact info and I also gave them the order number. So is selecting the cancel button on an order so difficult. AS WELL, I know if I choose to return this purchase ill probably loose the shipping I paid. Lesson learned, should have stuck to my usual online retailer.

Won't honor Guarantee

Purchased a raincoat fold up and zips into its own pocket. Have used 3 times. Nylon Zipper popped and was told that their 'Guarantee ' has changed (even though on my receipt) and you have only 60 days to return a bum product. They won't honor the guarantee I had.Won't purchase from them again.

I used to purchase everything Eddie Bauer - a GOLD member. But now cringe at the thought. 100% of the First Ascent pants I have purchased in the last 3 years have had their stitching come apart in weeks and there is no recourse to getting them restitched. I did the pockets for a few of them at great cost but feel abandoned by the company. If this was a way to think of selling more stuff, the strategy has completely backfired.

You guys deserve to go under

Agree with other comments. Used to be my go to store and you guys have gone to shit. Ordered a couple shirts online and your delivery service called apple express tried to deliver at 8:40 pm when my business is closed even though I warned you I close at 5:00. You did this twice. I even left a phone number on the door to call me. Not sure I’m ever going to get my stuff. On another note my iPhone wears out a hole in your jeans after a month of use because the quality is so terrible. Again multiple times. And you play the phoney discount game by charging exhorbitant prices which you discount to a normal price and pretend stuff is on sale. And don’t get me started about your terrible support system on chat. Completely useless. Time to fire the CEO.

wouldn't even give eddie bauer any star. Bought jeans that completely transferred there dye (it had a white fleece outline and completly ruined the white inside of the jeans as well) ruined a couple clothing items. Support was no help copy pasting paragraphs of information. told me I could get a replacement..... Looked at the jeans online completly sold out.... they were on clearence so they wont be restocking them and the support guy was like you can wait for them to restock them... yeah buddy it doesnt work like that. (edit)support couldnt even be correct on the right items that I ordered or what I was talking about Gurnoor was a terrrible assistant....

I have been a customer of the Eddie Bauer store for over 30 years and have decided that it no longer represents good value. The quality of the merchandise has declined substantially and I will no longer waste my money there. Ever!

My complaint is much like the others

My complaint is much like the others. Used EB for decades but no more. Here's my experience that I wrote to them and took 4 tries before they actually refunded my money for a jacket. Never again! This is what I wrote: ", This is now my 4th attempt contacting Eddie Bauer regarding a refund and it is still incorrect. Here is what I have done so far: 1. I have emailed 3 times asking for the status of the refund and there was no response. See attached email showing the 3 emails sent. 2. I phoned today after significant tracking and emailing and it is still incorrect. 3. I received this email and the order date shown in the email below is incorrect. The order date was May 29th, 2025 not June 8th. It is now July 5th. The refund I was originally quoted was $74.49 NOT $66.50 quoted below. The original purchase with shipping was $85.69. Today on the phone the agent agreed to refund the shipping as well. I’m so confused and frustrated about the ongoing mistakes and the wasting of my time. I would hope you would rectify this immediately and compensate me." They offered me free shipping on next online order. Never again.

Their software fraudulently placed 2 orders without me confirming/submitting them (at 10PM—with no customer service available after 8PM). When I attempted to cancel the next day at 8AM when customer service opened up again they told me the order was already in process, which the order states “in process” immediately after it’s placed. They refused to cancel the orders, but offered me “free shipping labels”, which are already complementary for returns on their website…fast forward—the 2 orders came in 3 pieces. I generated the shipping labels on their return portal only to be told by UPS that I needed a third label, because they sent it in 3 pieces. Of course this wasn’t possible on their return portal. I had to contact customer service again after lugging 3 beach chairs to UPS only to be told that it will take 24 hours to receive a third shipping label. Other reputable companies would rather you keep an item than deal with additional frustration, which I don’t ever expect but it’s a generous gesture that makes customers return. I have received no rectification of this situation whatsoever. The people I spoke to in customer service were lovely, including a supervisor, but the way this company runs is beyond substandard.

Eddie Bauer used to be our go to.

Eddie Bauer used to be our go to for quality clothing. We tried to return a pair of shorts. (The stitching was coming out). You can tell the shorts weren’t worn much. The new policy is, in order to return, they must have tags on them and couldn’t have been washed. The manager of the store tried to help but couldn’t. My husband asked her what’s the difference between Eddie Bauer and Walmart. There isn’t a difference.
