IMPORTANT !!! MAKE SURE CHECK YOU DOUBLE CHECK YOUR FINAL INVOICE AGAINST THE INITIAL PAPERWOK. I was charged for 2 days on my card having actually returned the vehicle same day having booked for 1 full day - this should simply not happen with telemetry data they have...!!!. I did complain on site and email and was 'thanked for my feedback !! ....' THANKED FOR MY FEEDBACK ???????? - no goodwill and a limp apology - DEFINATELY DO NOT RECOMMEND - STEER WELL CLEAR !!!! IM STILL AWAITING MY REFUND ....!!!!! POOLE BRANCH
Not recommend to anyone! Hidden deposit information and also they charge me 45£ admin fees what was taken without my permission from my account. I’m still didn’t receive fuel deposit 100£ and after few calls they say i didn’t pay deposit! When you return car they slowly trying to find any scratches to give you invoice for pay! The good is i make video before i take car but agent don’t say nothing about this because like they say Europcar don’t make any pictures or videos before rent!
Refused to honour my booking from the airport for car rental for a week (after I had already rented a car for a month, returned only days before). The reason given was that I did not have a confirmed return flight. I did not have a confirmed flight because I had to cancel the flight when the family member I was travelling with was urgently admitted to hospital and I did not know when they would be discharged. I understand the basis for the policy but staff claimed that nobody had any discretion on how to apply it and there was nobody who could be contacted with any discretion. I’ve used them a fair bit in the past but I never will again, obviously thinks very little of the care for their customers.
Booked with europcar paid £276. They cancelled my booking with no explanation. I spoke to them on the phone they said I would receive a full refund with 5-7 days. They then refunded £206.00. I called to request the full refund. Customer service Carlos was obnoxious stating they need to do an investigation that will take 10 days no mention of refund. What investigation is needed all they need to do is look at the data £276 paid by customer and they returned only £206 clearly shown on bank statement. DO NOT USE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. There is clearly some fraudulent activity happening in this company.
We booked a Jeep Avenger through the Europcar UK website for our family holiday in Italy. The car was clearly advertised as fitting 3 luggage bags – which sounded just about right for our family of four travelling for 10 days. Based on that, we went ahead and booked in good faith.When we arrived at Venice airport, we quickly discovered that the car could only hold one suitcase in the boot. Not three. Not even close. We were standing there late at night, with two kids, tired from travelling, and absolutely nowhere to put our bags.The only option Europcar gave us was to pay a lot more for an “upgrade.” The only car available was an automatic, which I don’t drive. That meant my husband had to do all the driving for the entire trip, which added even more stress on top of the unexpected cost.When we got home, I complained and provided screenshots of Europcar’s website showing the Jeep Avenger with “3 luggage” icons, alongside AutoEurope’s site that shows the same car correctly as only 1 luggage bag. To me, that’s misleading advertising.Sadly, Europcar has just brushed it off. They keep repeating that I signed the paperwork (which of course I did, because I trusted their website information!) and have now closed my case saying it’s “resolved.” It really isn’t.So not only did we end up out of pocket, but we also had a stressful start to our holiday and no acknowledgment from Europcar of their mistake. I’m now taking it further with my credit card company and reporting them for mis-selling.If you’re thinking of booking with Europcar, please don’t trust the luggage capacity advertised on their website. It’s misleading, and if you get caught out, you’ll be the one paying for it.
I booked a car online on 01/08/25 for collection from Newcastle Airport on 08/08/25. However due to a glitch on their website TWO amounts of deposits of £102.10 each were taken from my bank. Having made 4 phone calls, and written a letter to the company they have still not refunded the second deposit that was taken and still owe me £102.10. Three of the phone calls I made they kept me waiting a while, then hung up the phone. The fourth phone call to them was transferred to a completely unrelated company. Having got nowhere I wrote to to the company along with a bank statement showing their error. But still no refund. Hence I consider their service very poor and I would certainly never use Europcar again.
Ordered a car for this morning from newcastle branch as my car was going to garage and it still not arrived ...rang them at Newcastle and woman on the phone had the most fowl attitude and said we get there when we get there...avoid this company they are terrible ...I would even give this company 1 star if this is the attitude you get when ordering a car...
Don't expect them to answer the phone. They were supposed to be dropping off a car for us to collect from the dealer whilst our car is being repaired. They called us at 10.00 in the morning - it's now 17.45, the dealership closed 15 minutes ago & my wife has spent a frustrating hour trying to get hold of them. We've finally got hold of them to be told that the car is at the (closed) dealers & the dealer have the keys. No contact from them to tell us it was on its way or had been delivered.I'm in a meeting 20 miles up the road at 08.00 tomorrow - the dealer opens at 08.30.Smashing 👍
Last night I flew to England from the Netherlands to visit my dying father. Despite the fact I'd already paid online for the booking and had all the mandatory documents outlined in the confirmation email, the customer service reps from Europcar wouldn't let me pick up the car from Luton Airport because I didn't have a return flight booked (due to the fact I didn't yet know when my dad would die, when the funeral would take place, etc.). They cancelled my booking. I had to hire a car from another company at three times the price. I will never use Europcar again.
