Eventbrite Enables Fraud – Organisers Vanish, Customers CheatedEVENT: Slow Whines & RnB: Certified Throwback – THE CAMDEN, 26/10/2025This was nothing short of a scam. The event was advertised to start at 3:00 PM, yet when I arrived at 4:20 PM the venue was unstaffed, no bar, no DJ, no music — nothing. I waited until 5:15 PM, still no entertainment, no happy hour, and no service. Attendees left in frustration, myself included.I emailed the organisers multiple times — no reply whatsoever. Eventbrite only sends automated responses, and their customer service is absolutely unreliable. It feels like anyone can post a fake event on Eventbrite, take people’s money, and deliver nothing. That’s exactly what happened here: a big fraud that Eventbrite allowed to happen.Avoid this organiser and avoid trusting Eventbrite with your money.
Hi, the purchasing of the tickets went quite well until we came to paying with credit card as the payment wouldn't go through without a "Zip" code ? ? ? . None of my bank cards have Zip codes on them or statements. Had to contact the bank, who only have people you can talk to at 8 o,clock in the morning. This caused the price of the Harborough Summer Fest, going up per ticket prior to me having to find the banks Zip code . Cost €24 extra due to having to find a Zip code ? ? Regards Ray
I spent £20 on tickets only to be informed I can't actually use them or save them unless I download their app! I felt manipulated and tricked, and didn't have time. When my event came round I spent over half an hour trying to access my event and reach the tickets I'd paid for but could not. These people are crooks. They ask for no end of personal details and trick you into joining them and connecting emails and downloading their app then it's practically impossible to actually attend what you've paid for! I wish people would choose simpler more straightforward tickets because I am going to avoid eventbrite like the plague from now on.
This USED to be a good site and I used it a lot when I worked for the NHS. Now, if I use it privately, the search facility is crazy weird, pretty useless and doesn't find ANY advertised events. I dread to think how on earth you'd book tickets. Utterly rubbish, waste of time. I'm SO bored of it.. I've tried several times. It shouldn't be this hard and that a load of time I won't get back.
I purchased a ticket £30 for an April event on 13 May. The event was cancelled on the morning of the 13th. I have been in contact asking for a refund. The response I received was from the organisers via Eventbrite. Who told me on 18th May that my refund had been processed. Chased yesterday 28th May and just received this response “Read the email of the 18th! Your stupid comments won’t help!! “. ????????????? Chasing a refund is stupid? Again via Eventbrite. Never able to contact by phone my advice to anyone is only use Eventbrite on a free ticket basis.
This is the worst app I have ever used. An absolute con. Beware, you will go round in circles just to be told “oops something went wrong”. It will never go right. Will try endlessly to get you to book some ridiculous event. Waste of time.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE — like many of the people here I was scammed of an event that wasn’t real & they have zero real policy about replying to your reporting a fraudulent event. Zero time scale on when you can expect to hear back. Worst part is the event that is 100% a SCAM is still up for purchase! God knows how many other people have been scammed since I was…! And prior to me.I was using Eventbrite quite a bit for various events and NEVER AGAIN. It’s not worth the risk. Such a joke.
Awful! Booked an event, turned up and there was nothing going on. Eventbrite agreed the listing was fraudulent, thanked me for flagging it… but refused to refund. What is the point of using them at all. Wish I’d seen the lay of the land on here before booking. Not booking any further paid events from them again - EVER. Ridiculous.
Absolutely awful organisation to deal with. They. DO NOT offer refunds, despite what their regulations say. I am still waiting for a refund a month after I requested an event that has yet to happen. I have not received confirmation emails, and all attempts at communications have been frustrated. They have THE worst customer relations I’ve ever dealt with. I would not use this organisation again, especially when it means parting with your money . I would give ZERO score if I could.
