My 12 year old just came home because your staff was very rude and arrogant to her. She asked for help finding a product. She asked three times, three different service people and they were there every time. he directed her elsewhere and seeing that my daughter couldn't find the products, two staff members laughed at my daughter. I am shocked by the level of intellectual development of your employees. Company should be ashamed of the behavior of your employees.

Store is huge, went with a disabled friend who has mobility issues. Had to stop a few times when walking about for them to sit and rest and had a quick drink in cafe before carrying on.

Quite a few price labels not put up so had to keep finding someone to find out prices, which wasn't helpful as it was busy there.

Near the food section there was a horrendous smell of stale urine! No liquids on the floor but the smell was disgusting so quickly moved through that section!

Today disabled friend has received a parking ticket for us spending over 3 hours there. Didn't see any signs about this and store is huge so as it was the first time there, wanted to look at everything.

*****beware if you park there more than 3 hours you will get a parking fine-outrageous!! *****

Won't be going back!

Delivery Issues with Mixed Orders

While most of my orders have been satisfactory, I recently ordered dog food and dolls together. Unfortunately, the promised 2 to 3 day delivery stretched to a week. To make matters worse, everything was packed into one box, which caused some concerns. Thankfully, the items arrived intact, but I've learned not to combine fragile items with heavier ones. The logistics seem to be a challenge.

Disappointing experience with the bath soak

I purchased a bath soak as a gift for my friends, but it leaked immediately, ruining their other holiday presents that were in the same bag. I'm really upset about spending money on something that didn't work. There was none left in the container for them to use, and they were disappointed, as was I. The product spilled everywhere, damaging my carpet, and I had to try to clean it up on the holiday.

Unacceptable and Humiliating Experience at the Store

I want to share an unacceptable and humiliating experience my partner and I had at the store on 31/12/2025 between 13:00 and 13:20. We picked the items we needed and went to the checkout. The cashier scanned everything, and we started bagging the items. While I was waiting for the card payment terminal to activate and had my bank card ready, my partner moved the trolley slightly to avoid blocking other customers. At that moment, the cashier reacted rudely, loudly accusing my partner of not having paid and questioning why they were moving the items. This was said in front of other customers, leaving us feeling extremely embarrassed. I attempted to explain calmly that I was in the process of completing the payment, but instead of listening, the cashier began yelling at us and accusing us of theft. She then called out for someone named “Rachel.” Her behavior was aggressive, unprofessional, and entirely unacceptable. Due to this treatment, I emptied the trolley at the checkout and left the store. We value dignity and respect, and we felt neither respected nor safe continuing our purchase. Having been a regular customer for over four years, I will no longer shop here after this incident. I strongly urge that your staff, particularly cashiers, receive training to treat customers with basic respect and professionalism. I hope this matter is investigated.

A Heartwarming Experience at a Local Store

I want to share a delightful experience at a local store. On 24.12.2025, I inadvertently dropped a banknote while shopping, not realizing it at the time. Shortly after, an employee approached me right in the store, informing me that she had witnessed the incident and kindly returned the money.
Her honesty and kindness genuinely moved me. It's not often you encounter such individuals, and her gesture was especially meaningful during this festive season.
I extend my heartfelt thanks for this remarkable act of integrity.
Wishing a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the staff at the store. You truly have exceptional employees.

Extremely disappointing customer service.

Extremely disappointing customer service. I placed an order in November for a charity event in our HR offices. I was informed on December 1st that there was a delay with my parcel and that it would be sent out the next working day, with updates to follow. However, when I checked the tracking on December 3rd, there was no progress; it still indicated the same delay. The following week, I still hadn't received the order. The tracking showed an update stating it was delivered on December 1st, which contradicts the previous update that it was at the depot. I have a doorbell camera, and there was no delivery. I have reached out to the support teams of both the shipping service and the seller. The seller has been unhelpful, while the shipping service has initiated an investigation and promised to contact the seller. I've been emailing back and forth, but I'm getting nowhere. The seller claims they don't recognize my email and hasn't provided any updates. I've allowed plenty of time for them to resolve this, but they are unresponsive. I am requesting a full refund. I've never encountered issues like this before, and it's quite disappointing. I've filed a complaint, but it seems to be ignored. This is not acceptable practice. I will be reaching out to their HR department.

Quality of products has drastically declined

The quality of products at the company has significantly deteriorated recently - they are subpar at best. This is yet another example of wealthy owners exploiting their customers. Their packaging is misleading; I purchased a bottle of their so-called thick bleach, which I reported to the appropriate authorities. When I attempted to use it, I expected it to pour out slowly, but instead, it gushed out like water, becoming increasingly diluted due to the owners' greed. The bleach splattered everywhere, damaging carpets, rugs, and even a sheepskin jacket, while also leaving white spots on my new wall decor. I am considering legal action for misrepresentation, as the product is far from what is advertised. It's disheartening to see loyal customers being taken advantage of, especially when much of what they offer is cheaper at larger supermarkets. Don't be misled by their former good reputation; they will take advantage of you right in front of your eyes.

A nasty and deceitful organisation…

What a nasty and deceitful organisation we found Home Bargains to be ....... We recently had an embarrassing and stressful experience in their Oswestry store when buying several bars of chocolate. The total price at the checkout was much higher than expected and did not tally with the prices advertised on the shelf so after informing the cashier we returned to the shelf several times to reconfirm. Eventually a manager was called to the checkout and when we followed her back to the shelf for the last time we found that all of a sudden the shelf prices had been changed / removed and the products removed from the shelf. The manager ( Sharon ) was quite abrupt and very reluctant to give us her name and refused our request to see CCTV footage or action a complaint and so later we did a complaint to HBs head office who just told us to "go legal" and eventually bounced us over to their owners TJMorris who have a published complaints procedure which states they " welcome complaints " and promises "accountability" and "traceability" and to " make complaints as easy as possible " but what a total load of rubbish we found that all to be ..... Over the course of 3 months and much chasing they reluctantly provided some totally useless and very heavily blurred, redacted and suspiciously edited CCTV footage from the worst positioned cameras with no time log and still continue refusing to answer some simple questions or give us their assurance or apology regarding the matter ...... and then in a final Email they have now threatened hell and high water if we dare to publicise our experience !! ........ To avoid confusion we have copied this draft of our review to HB very many times but without response so presumably they do not dispute their scam and we dread to think how many other customers HB may have cheated in this way including us yet again today 30/11/25 when we bought some cakes and at the same time another customer on another till was also having a similar problem ...... What a thoroughly disgusting way to treat good customers of many years !!.... the words Rip Off Merchants come to mind .....
