Review Time
There is an error somewhere between the state of illinois and turbo tax and they won't let me obtain my 2017 state taxes and the computer customer service is zero help and makes you go round and round and then refuses to connect me to a person....
I have used turbo tax for 30 years. I come from a large family and do all my siblings, nieces and nephews. I file about 35 returns. A lot of them are simple w-2 only. This will be the last year I will use this software. The disk gives you 25 e-files as long as you own 5 computers. I was recommended by turbo tax to buy a new disk since I used my 25 e-files. I did that and while on the phone with turbo tax they instructed me to install on the computer I already e-filed on. You cannot do that since it will not let you e-file even though you paid for a second disk. They will not refund money to me because I did not buy through them. I did not buy through them because they were $30.00 more expensive. Three times I called in, 2 times they told me to install on the same computer. Higher level support completely unsympathetic and said "you should have checked the website we disclosed it there". After 30 years I did not make it a habit to review their website!!! I will look for a new ERP software also. They do not want to support customer's who are not at a Pro level but are above a 5 e-file level. They also do not care that they have repeat customer's that are in a bind this year because of their over the top "everyone is ripping us off" security. We are stuck with their software for 2019 not 2020 and after.
Not cool. They con you into wasting a lot of time then slap you with a heavy fee after lying it's free. Just because i sold a few stocks I'm having to pay $130 for premier. Looking for alternatives, this is bs. Wasted almost 2 hrs... At least let me know ahead. Extra $40 just to transfer directly to an account. Joke.
I got Turbotax and did my return but it kept saying that several forms were not ready. This meant I could not file my taxes. They then informed me by mid-March that the forms were ready. They told me to update, which I did. The forms did NOT download and I attempted to do it as they instructed many times over several days. I finally had to do my taxes myself. I WASTED all the money I spent on Turbotax. Do not buy this software!
I just finished my tax return.It was very simple, straight forward,standard deduction income tax return.This was my first time I did it myself because this is usually my busiest time of the year, so I used to pay to have it done.So, this time I had to find time to do it and ended up paying the same amount as if my income tax preparer did it for me.With every step Turbotax demanded more money.At the end, I asked for a receipt, printed it.It was $110.00Then I received an email notification that they actually took$119.76.When I look at the receipt more closely,I noticed it says $110.00 and with very small, hardly visible "plus taxes"I don't know if I can trust these people to do my taxes again.I would call them con men operation
