Questionable Services

I've been using this respect to company TurboTax online to do my taxes for the last 10 used these are trying to get me to upgrade but I declined I used to pay out-of-pocket I haven't used the resource to have the deduction taken out of my refund this year I decided to upgrade because I needed to go ahead and file in order to get my second stimulus check and I upgraded to the deluxe edition for $40 upon asking for my 24/7 representative customer support to talk to in regards to questions I was told it would take 45 minutes for the call to replace to me and after work for waiting for 50 minutes I reach back out to them online to find out they're having phone issues now you took my money for the upgraded service and to do my taxes but yet you're not giving me those Services which is false representation I would not use them next year I won't use them and I would question anybody that wants to go out to them try another service they seem to be lacking and what they're actually trying to offer

Not fixing stimulus problem

Not fixing stimulus problemH&R Block fixed the issue with the stimulus payment but on social media TurboTax is acting like it isn't their problem. So many people are having to go without right now and all they are doing is lying. I have used TurboTax for 4 years but not anymore.

Customer support is HORRIBLE

Customer support is HORRIBLE. I log into my account and it welcomes me back for a fifth year and presents me with a summary of last year's info. So you'd think I'm in the right account, right? I'm trying to download last year's return before I begin this year. Their instructions (through "help" and automated phone support) tell me to select "Documents" in the left column. It doesn't exist in my back office. But they won't let me talk to a human being to resolve the technical support issue. Their online automated support keeps telling me it "can't find my account" and so can't refer me to a human. Great way to lose a customer!UPDATE: Want to know what's REALLY funny? The instructions they kept giving me (automated online and by phone) were WRONG! I just found the downloads in my current account. So their customer support is REALLY screwed up. They want you to pay the extra $80 to have a live connection rather than provide live support even for technical problems that are theirs, not the end users.

Be careful using TurboTax

I entered all my information into TurboTax and got a refund in 2018. Unfortunately the IRS now says I owe them $4,277. Thanks a lot TurboTax

Avoid at all costs

PLEASE avoid TurboTax. They rip off their customers who are making less than $40,000 a year and should be receiving free tax refund services. They purposefully hide the free tax software so you will be forced to pay on their normal site. I was unable to e-file online as promised and got charged before accepting their return (I never filed with TurboTax at the end) it has been nearly 3 months of calling TurboTax every week/bi-weekly to receive a refund on a product I have never used and I still don’t have the money back. They are con artists, no one in their customer service arsenal knows their policies, and it’s slow as molasses trying to get updates. Save yourself and find a free tax software that you are ENTITLED to, elsewhere.

TERRIBLE Service and Miscalculated Taxes

TERRIBLE Service. Their supposedly easy step by step system omitted the health insurance part of the return and on top of that miscalculated the return amount. This caused my return to get manually reviewed, delaying the refund. They in the meantime, in the middle of the pandemic, withdraw money my account that was for the return to be deposited, without regard to what they caused with their sub-par system. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. There are much better options out there that wont cause all this headache. STAY AWAY and don't give them any account information.

WORST "SERVICE". Does not inform you if you have a rejection and takes your money!

I filed my taxes with Turbo Tax in April of 2020. My state tax was accepted rightaway and so was my federal. I received my state refund promptly but my federal refund was est 4/22. Days past and I owed turbo tax for their services. I called and the guy was understandable and put a delay on the billing but after a period of time, Turbo Tax ended up billing me regardless whether or not my refund came through or not.A month goes by and I get a letter to amend, this letter was from my Father's tax firm/irs NOT Turbo Tax. It turns out my before my dad left to go to his home country, he claimed me for a really small job. I tried to amend it with Turbo Tax but they were coming up with the craziest numbers of how much I owed in taxes. I ended up going with my family's tax firm that we have been going to for a while. I DID not owe the amount that Turbo Tax said I would and ended up now paying for TWO services.Note, Turbo Tax did not inform me there was a rejection or any errors. I called up today to see if I can get a refund on their "service" because I never received my federal refund. The first person I spoke to said that all services were non-refundable. She transferred my to her supervisor who was even more unwilling to understand that Turbo Tax's so called "service" FAILED to inform the customer that there was an issue.However, during the call, she took 10 minutes to find out on her back end that there was a rejection. I explained to her that if you go to Intuit page, it shows everything was accepted, and no notifications of errors/amends.So how was I suppose to know? Turbo Tax literally stole 60 bucks for their "deluxe" package.Here is what they won't tell you. If there is any error on your end they will not let you know! You are the filer, and it is a system of numbers. There should be room for errors and Turbo Tax should understand that.And WHEN their system knows there is a rejection but does not tell the customer that there is one, that is NO SERVICE AT ALL.DO NOT FILE WITH TURBO TAX. THEY ARE UNHELPFUL. Most companies during this Covid time are very understanding especially when it comes to finances, Turbo Tax is just a money hungry company that is inflexible. The supervisor even acknowledged and apologized that there was not a notification or email that was sent to me to inform me of an error. So how can you call this a service? I filed myself, I paid for it, and in the end, I never got a properly filed tax report for the year. I ended up having to pay ANOTHER tax firm for their actual tax services.If you are reading this, please go file your taxes elsewhere!

Never using turbotax again ever

Never using turbotax again ever. I qualified for an education credit, and it says turbotax is accurate and checks everything before you submit it. Well, for the credit, you had to upgrade to the deluxe version. Turns out it was rejected because I must have gotten the credit before and didn't remember or something, but now the deluxe version isn't needed. Can't return it because submitting the return counts as you using the service, so now i don't get the credit and i'm down $65 for a service I can't even use. AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED trying to use them if you're an uber driver. Mostly Uber's crappy business model's fault, but also TurboTax sucks because to file it the 'right' way (as a self employed tax return), you have to upgrade for $120. NO THANKS. I'd rather just go to H&R block or just get a real job that doesn't use sketchy business models.**also, I would've left this on their official website review page, but there's literally nowhere to leave a review on there. Really makes you wonder how unbiased their 200k 4.4-star total reviews are when on this site they have a 1.....

100% disappointed.

Their marketing claims 100% accuracy guaranteed. Not the case. I filed my federal taxes with Turbo Tax and got a letter from the IRS 4 months later saying my return was missing documents. I had to print and mail more forms, costing me gas, printing, and postage, not to mention the risk of COVID exposure due to these errands as well as the extended delay in receiving my much needed tax return. No customer service email is available to address the issue and I cannot get through to anyone by the phone number on the website. I want a full refund and compensation for the additional time and costs that were endured. Will definitely never use again.

Awful

I've been using TurboTax for years, and MacinTax before it. It's never been this bad or this expensive. Disorganized, confusing, and WAY too expensive. I'm going to an accountant next year. I can't take the aggravation.
