Lost, damaged and refused to compensate

Lost one complete pod. Damaged and lost a significant amount of my belongings. Was made to pay insurance that did not cover the amount of damage and missing items. Appalling customer service. Hours and days spend putting together evidence and still refused to pay. Delivery late and then split into several moves.

Two Queen size mattresses went missing…

Two Queen size mattresses went missing between Australia and Scotland. Never to be found. Several cartons were badly damaged resulting in breakages. My couch somehow became badly stained. Kent became Anglo Pacific and then Pickfords in the Uk. They were both very uncaring and difficult to deal with. I ended up corresponding with Kent insurance in Melbourne and they were helpful and understanding andI was eventually partially recompensed. I wish I had read Kent reviews before I decided to use them. Never again.

Anybody in Australia looking for a…

Anybody in Australia looking for a Removalist do not use KENT REMOVALIST! It’s a long story but after having emails with them for the past 6 weeks, I outline herewith 13 points, which outlines our experience of what is claimed by KENT REMOVALIST with 80 years experience! Kent by the way was the most expensive of 5 Quotes we got. We decided to go with them, as the Sales presentation convinced us, that there would be no hassle! How wrong we were! Here we go, this where we stand right now; My experience with Kent can be summarised in 13 points-1) The job was briefed to Kent. Quote received and approved.2) From approval of quote, Kent took control.3)The process of removal was determined by Kent.4)The people representing Kent were Kent’s choice.5) The fact that there were not enough people to initially handle the job, was a Kent issue.6) The fact that boxes were sent to the wrong location - is a Kent issue.7) The fact that items were packed on the first day without bubble wrap is a Kent issue.8) The fact that each box was not numbered and the contents summarised on a check list, is a Kent issue.9)The fact that items were misplaced is a Kent issue.10) The fact that items were damaged is a Kent issue11)The fact that I signed off on all items received and in good condition is my issue - I had trust in Kent.12) In retrospect , this trust was totally misguided. I should have checked every individual box and its contents before signing off on delivery. This would have taken weeks. Totally Impractical.13) Trusting Kent was a key element of our agreement and my acceptance of your quote.Without TRUST our agreement is nothing more than a quote.ONCE MORE, DO NOT USE KENT REMOVALIST FOR YOUR MOVE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO STRESS OUT!

Don’t bother with Kent

Don’t bother with Kent. They didn’t show at all no message to say late or reschedule. After waiting 2 hours I gave up. I tried to call the office in Qld and the Head Office but they all have the same inane girls voice telling you that they have Superior customer service but that the Office hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm. Not answering at past 9am. The slot was booked for 7:30am. If you need to go to work don’t bother with this mob.

Do not use Kent

We used Kent to move our contents internationally. It took over 6 months. Communication was atrocious, with no updates unless requested and serious delays. The customer service representative that we dealt with was exceptionally poor, in that he did not action requests, and lied that certain tasks had occurred - when we called his colleagues they said it hadn’t occurred. They failed to follow through with basic requests, lied to us, broke many items, did not support us getting insurance or respond well to requests for help. It made for a very stressful and upsetting experience. Do not use this company. I wish I had looked at trust pilot before selecting them.

Our move with Kent was the worst…

Our move with Kent was the worst removal company we have ever used, and we've moved more than a dozen times intrastate and interstate.After damaging two major items (one fully insured) they refused to fix them, despite repeated assurances otherwise by telephone. Kent demanded access from 7am (despite us being 2 hours from their depot) and on the day of moving in, didn't even show up or call us. We waited for hours and had to chase them up only to be eventually told they didn't even have our container in the state! Yet they had only called the afternoon prior to confirm the move.Four separate people promised the operations manager would call us -- which never happened within the promised time frame and only eventually happened after our continual follow-up. Two items that were assembled when packed up were refused to be reassembled -- and damaged in transit. We even had to point out they'd left our sliding door sitting against the back fence (and in the rush to put it back on, wasn't even done correctly and we had to fix that ourselves).We also found Kent's rubbish (used label sheets) dumped in our bedroom furniture.NO CARE WHATSOEVER. Will never use them again. Terrible service; I would leave ZERO stars if that was possible.

Pack day and bloke was four hours late

Pack day and bloke was four hours late. He arrived after lunch and we were told between seven and eight arriving. He did work fast though.Uplift day and no box labels were put on items.Arrival day and labels put on furniture legs, arm rests and cupboard doors (exterior) (not under seats/table tops/inside drawers/inside cupboard doors as is typical). They stacked items on top of glass table (that table turned into many, many pieces of glass).In the repack of our furniture there has been some damage to furniture as we have swelling of some fiberboard. There are chips taken out of our table tops also and a new hairline fracture in the dining table.They didn't put our dining table together and bolts have been lost; 6xM8x120mm (I think or could be 100mm). They didn't come on the three times the office said they would to put it together. They didn't pick up boxes when they said they would twice. Am requesting that our moving agent doesn't sub-contract to these guys again. This is my families fourth move since 2015 and my eleventh move with a professional removalist and these guys take the cake for "tell your friends they're s#$&".

Avoid - most unsatisfactory!

Most unhappy. Furniture was delivered to Brisbane from their storage in Townsville and just put willy nilly in double garage without any thought to packing it to maximise space. I wasn't there at the time and when I took it up with them this week I was told the person overseeing (my son) should have directed them better. What? Aren't they the professionals? They now suggest I pay to have someone come out to fix their shoddy work! An outrageous money making scheme - do a bad job then make the customer pay to fix it up? Ironically, I had waived the return of an overpayment of around $300 as a gesture of goodwill. Seems the only goodwill is on the customer's side with Kent. Never again.

30k to move within Sydney

Kent moved me to Australia 7 years ago from San Francisco and I had a great experience. This time, I requested a move from my home in Sydney to Kent’s storage in the same city. I have a three bed flat and two of the bedrooms are small. There was no one available to turn up in person for a quote, so I spent quite a while on a zoom call with one of their agents. After all of this, I was quoted 30,000 aud. Really? 30k to move an apartment one way in one city? I am sad to say I won’t consider this company again. Really disappointing and it felt very opportunistic, because I told them I needed to move urgently.
