Login.gov is like most useless program and how much money are they wasting? I finally called the social security office and told them I will need all my paperwork mailed because after 5 years I am unable to use my account. If all of you want to make a change write or email your represenative. I will be writing a complaint about how useless this program is and I encourage more people to do the same. Type a detailed letter. No support, program does not work, No human can help with it, your alternitive is going back to paperwork in the mail. And the Social Security person I talked to said they all know it does not work. We need to complain to some one who can actually do something about government waste. It has been looked at by Pete Session of Texas in the sub committe for not complying with government requirements. This was March 29 2023 they got paid 187 millions to make seniors suffer.it does not comply with NIST requirements.
login.gov changed my access process without giving notice. My VoIP phone number will no longer be accepted to receive secondary verification. I can't use the cell phone number I have had for the past 13 years because I only use it when I travel. Old and retired I don't travel any more. Support only comes in the form of pre-recorded messages that don't cover my problem. I need to talk to a human,who will do something, to fix this.
LOGIN.GOV will not recognize the phone when setting up account that the SSA uses to send me texts. AND, they refused to correct the issue and suggested I try ID me. And it is NOT possible to get a human on the phone. I will lodge a formal complaint with SSA including the USEless email thread. We PAY for this incompetence!
If I could, like many I see on here, I would give it a minus 10. The horror and exasperation one indures trying to use this nightmare is life threatening. I could go on and on, but to summerize, login.gov ( and IDme also ) is awful and that includes support services.
For SS verification, If you have a choice between ID.me and Login.gov, choose ID.me. I was in the process of verifying my identity as requested by SSA via Login.gov. They had already sent a text to my mobile to upload a photo of my driver’s license. After acknowledging receipt, Login.gov could not verify the mobile number I just used for the upload and which I’ve been using for more than a decade. In addition, no humans answer the phone, and their 24/7 support line only says what’s already on their useless help page.
Both Login.gov and Id.me suck ass! It was all good for to access Social Security with Login.gov until I lost my password. I was unsuccessful in changing it so, fine, I deleted that account and started a new one with a different email address. I made it through the entire process until the very last step and got: "We couldn't find a record of you using this number" The same f***ing number you just sent more than one texts of code number!!! WTFF? I talked to some dolt somewhere who told me the reference the number with other things out in cyber land such as credit reporting agencies. I found one had my old number and changed it to no avail. I did get a new phone number in between my initial Login.gov account and this new one so, it seems that their stupid program is probably trying to match me to that old DISCONNECTED number.Same thing happened with Id.me. What a load of crap!! I went to the local SS office and all they did was to confirm my phone # was correct and told me to call Login.gov's tech line. From previous reviews, it sounds like that is going to be a complete waste of time!
