Review Time
We spent several weeks in discussions with MangoPay, evaluating them as a potential payment partner for our marketplace. Initially, everything looked promising — both from a technical and strategic perspective.
However, the biggest issue came with pricing transparency.
During our calls, we were clearly told that a €5,000 minimum monthly revenue (MMR) was possible (which before it was even lower). At no point was it communicated that the final proposal would suddenly be €10,000 per month, effectively doubling what had been discussed.
This was extremely disappointing, especially after investing significant time in detailed conversations and planning.
What makes this even more frustrating is that MangoPay’s own messaging promotes:
flexible pricing
usage-based models
transparency
“no surprises”
Unfortunately, our experience was the exact opposite. A fixed €10,000 minimum contradicts the idea of flexibility and usage-based pricing.
From a product standpoint, MangoPay seems solid. But from a commercial and communication perspective, this felt misleading and inconsistent.
Unless there is genuine flexibility in pricing, it’s difficult to recommend them — especially for startups or growing marketplaces that rely on predictable and scalable cost structures.
Terrible. Mangopay require too much information more tgan you woukd give to hmrc or bank. Something not quite right. Doesnt feel safe. Have frozen 800 pounds made for our community shop and never get to talk to a real person. Avoid at all costs
Same problem as so many others. Temporary suspension, constent failing of verification. Ive sent everything from driving licence, passport, business bank records, self assessment tax submissions, NI, UTR, my name, address matches up with vinted and bank accounts and HMRC, even proof of my business Trademark. I have sent them far too much private financial details for my liking! Vinted not helpful, Mangopay shocking!! Of course im still allowed to sell, but can't withdraw my own money. Its sitting gathering interest for someone no doubt! Vinted should ditch Mangopay..The suspension was because I got to my withdrawal limit..a whopping 150 quid!!!!!
If I could have given this incompetent company and Vinted zero stars I would. My problem is the same as most on here.I joined Vinted approximately 5 weeks ago.Advertised 3 items, successfully sold one and since then they’ve blocked my account and frozen my funds.Vinted blame Mangopay who have asked me 3 times for proof of I D, and I sent it 3 times.Vinted have told me today for the fourth time to give it 5 days. You couldn’t make it up !I asked Vinted 3 times for a direct number to Mangopay, only for them not to oblige me.I have never known of two totally inept companies as Vinted and Mangopay.I have given Vinted until the end of this week or I’ll contact the ombudsman and the police, as surely these companies need investigating.Anybody reading these reviews before joining these companies…… steer clear !P.S.I’ve just tried emailing Mangopay, and on entering my email, I was met with a message “we do not recognise sky.com” This message was repeated when I tried Hotmail.com and then again gmail.com.So trying to contact them is futile !
So I play Sorare and unfortunately they've now partnered with Mangopay. So now I have to set up a wallet with this never heard of company... When I try to do so it asks for a phone number, but then says it's invalid when I put my number in... That's just great as if I don't know MY own number. Rubbish company and probably a fraud
This company needs to be investigated it’s appalling. Same experience as others that use Vinted. Mangopay is the site they use to hold your funds apparently. The amount of ID is ridiculous. This is what I sent. Tax forms, driving licence, passport, bank statements, debit card & more. Guess what ? It Wasn’t enough. It makes me wonder why Vinted would use a company that it’s quite obviously so poor, bordering criminal in my opinion. I will get my money back even if I have to go and visit the office in person.
I have been casually asked to provide photo ID on vinted. After some digging between Vinted and Mangopay's jargon-filled T&C's, if I do share this, it will be held for ten years and I can not request and have it deleted. They also do not openly share which third parties they share my sensitive data with (though I am sure it is somewhere listed via another link). UPDATE: after an AI search, one may be the company that just settled after misusing biometric data... This four starts and not five.I have raised that I am not comfortable and have offered to confirm my identity in a other way (video call, telephone). Ironically, if someone has hacked into my life to sell a handful of kids old things, I'm pretty sure they could access my driver's licence, making the entire thing quite pointless. UPDATE: This was needed as my account activity had changed and I'd had to cancel and reupload items after illness. Once they ask, they are not legally allowed to waive this.Hopefully, a video call to show my ID will be enough to release my funds (a whopping £100). If not, I have to decide wether to upload my ID onto a company's app that says in it's T&C's that anything I upload it can use for AI training, and that admit they could be hacked so I shouldn't share anything too personal, should have my most sensitive data for the next decade - well, them and their third parties. I wonder if my bank can help...UPDATE: My bank couldn't have (the law requires independent verification) but Google Gemini did, and explained the law pretty well. So I uploaded using their tips and it was a super simple process and accepted first time. I do not love that it was needed, and that sales were allowed to complete without agreeing to this, but it was actually ok. Unless I am subsequently the victim of identity theft, then I will reinstate the one star.
we have an enterprise licence with mangopay and we put millions of euro through them on a monthly basis. They are without doubt the worst company i have ever dealt with in terms of communication and customer service. If i was starting afresh i would never choose this company and I will migrate as soon as is feasible.
Refusal to register a Belgian business account – unacceptableI am a Belgian self-employed professional with fully compliant EU documents. Yet MANGOPAY refuses to register my business account via Vinted Ltd without valid justification.Their KYC system appears unsuitable for certain EU independent professionals, creating unfair discrimination and preventing legitimate businesses from operating.A formal complaint has been filed with the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).I strongly encourage any affected professional to also file a complaint with the CSSF.EU professionals have the right to work when fully compliant!
