The folks at Maui Jim’s are the best.I recently went on vacation and broke one of my lenses, I was so bummed out because I thought that was it these glasses are done. I sent them in for repair and they went above and beyond. They sent me back a whole new pair of Maui jim sunglasses. Love you guys ty,ty.
I have owned my Maui Jim 303-23 Big Island sunglasses for over 25 years. After one of the arms broke recently, I was really sad to no longer have my favourite pair of sunglasses. I have worn them every year when driving or on holiday and they looked as good as new for all that time. I looked online to see if Maui Jim could repair my specs and found many people have been in my position. A few customer comment even suggested that MJ had repaired their broken sunglasses and had not charged the customer for the work. Indeed, one customer said they had received a new pair of sunglasses because their vintage pair could not be fixed. I looked up the MJ repairs page and booked my repair. The MJ site does say that they may not be able to fix discontinued models and it would depend on whether they had parts in stock. That said, the site did state that nose pads and arms would be repaired or replaced for free, if parts were available.After a few days I received a call to say the UK repair shop did not have any arms to fit my vintage specs and that the repair technician had messaged Maui Jim HQ in Hawaii to see if they had old stock available. I would hear something within a few weeks. I'm like, "What? You've called Hawaii? For Real? Wow." I half expected a call back to say the parts were no longer in stock and there was nothing more that can be done, or that they had stock but I would be charged for the parts, labour & delivery from Hawaii.I then received an email from Maui Jim, a few weeks later, advising me that my sunglasses had been repaired, with a completely new frame, nose pads and arms, with zero cost to me. That's right. It will cost me nothing! I was blown away. After all, the Flexon titanium frames are not cheap, and the cost of delivery from Hawaii cannot have been free.The sunglasses have now arrived in beautiful condition and Maui Jim have also included a new collapsible trifold case. Just a few weeks ago I was devastated that I may never use my prized sunglasses again and today I am overjoyed to have them back as good as new.During the last month, I have also bought myself two more pairs of Maui Jim's as back up, so now I have three pairs of this wonderful luxury brand. Why did I buy two more pairs? Well, they were in a sale and I can't resist a bargain but most of all I know they'll last a lifetime, especially with the support of Maui Jim's repairs service.
Brought a pair of these sunglasses which broke not only once but twice. The first pair were replaced and it stopped there. Would not purchase these products again. Gone to different brand which is much better and have had them over 2 years without breaking.
Cannot believe why there could be a negative review about this business. Used several times, own numerous pairs and have had to have several repairs due to my own actions - always helpful and a top quality product. I always judge a company by its aftersales service. I use their branch in Guildford where the repairs i have had are while you wait. Brilliant! Met Tony today to repair my glasses. He was excellent - polite, helpful and very knowledgeable. Great work as always.
In 2018 bought my Expensive Maui Jim sun glasses from the Airport Duty Free Shop. One of my temple broke so sent it on 7th August 2021 to Guildford Surrey for repair !! Paid £12 because I didn't had receipt.When I received they had changed the nose pad and had crack on each side !!! When email them was told had cracks before and to change the lenses will cost another £75 ..... there were no cracks before when I sent them, otherwise before sending them I would have asked about cracked lenses !!! One thing is I never asked them to change the NOSE PAD... WANTED TO REPAIR ONE TEMPLE ONLY !! WHILE CHANGING THEY MUST HAVE BROKE IT BY PRESSURE OR BY MISTAKE !!! My question to them was why they changed the nose pads without asking me ??? Very bad customer service !! Now they are not repairing my lenses....which was their fault changing nose pads without asking the customer and cracked the lenses on both sides !!! Not happy with the CUSTOMER SERVICE I WAS GIVEN !!!
Due to extreme light sensitivity, I decided to invest in sunglasses that I would have to wear daily all the time. It was a considerable investment considering my income. Imagine my surprise when, at a recent party, one of the attendees showed off his pairS of FREE Maui Jim sunglasses, gifts from his friend, a Director of Marketing & Promotions. The guy can open up his own store. Now I know that I've been overpaying when others get it for FREE.
I hate the new glasses case which is a triangle instead of the traditional shape. I called Maui Jim to ask if they could send me a different case and they said triangle was now all they had. I will buy a competitor brand next time as it is annoying to have to shop around to find an appropriate glasses case after spending a lot on sunglasses.
I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses through my eye doctors on July 1, 2021 - today is July 30, 2021 and still no sun glasses. My optometrist has called numerous times and gets nothing but a run around. This is the first time I’ve ordered prescription sunglasses & id heard how good Maui Jim’s are. But I’m very frustrated & don’t think I will ever order from them again!
