Microsoft is in alot of ways worse than apple and every corrupt corporation out there combined. I cannot for the life of me delete certain programs on my laptop because of their completely retarted administrator system even though I am an administrator, their Microsoft help forums are one big waste of braincells having NEVER BEEN HELPFUL IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!! I fail to comprehend the levels of pathetic it takes to be a multi-billion dollar corporation with the best computer programmers ever and have an extinct and useless help forum for problems so stupid if I had five minutes to design those systems could have avoided the issues to begin with. And of course their threads are ALWAYS locked cause they dgaf bout anything except how they can get even more money for doing even less for humanity. That's only issue one. Their entire files system as well as account system and just about any system ever that they are responsible for is a massive confusing dysfunctional mess and headache! They keep installing Microsoft edge even though I keep deleting it again and again. It tries to become my default browser wastes disk space, annoys me endlessly cause I use other programs to protect me from porn etc and they all interfere with each other trying to control edge which If I could just delete it wouldn't be an issue in the first place. If any corporation needs to be nuked back into the stone age it's these guys. Microsoft more like Micro and soft wee wees.
There are plenty of messed up examples I could give but the two that come to mind are; 1, I purchased a permanent edition of microsoft office because I didn't want to constantly re-purchase it every year or two, and I got to use it for almost 2 months before they decided I didn't have the license and deleted the proof that I purchased it from their system while saying "if you can prove you purchased it we can let you use it again". They didn't accept bank records, didn't save the proof on one drive despite me taking a screen shot, and refuse to check their records. Each of these attempts took nearly 8 hours each to get ahold of a support that could do anything (though considering they did nothing saying they could do something might be giving them to much credit). I have the proof on my older computer but it also has Thousands of files. I'll get it someday and it'll probably take 16 more hours. 2, I recently needed support from microsoft because they were holding my outlook email hostage because my onedrive was full. The tools provided to make space yourself are set up to make it take Hours to find, figure out, and use (And I'm a Tech...) Anyway support showed me where to find one drive, but also snuck 3 (3 that bitdefender found) trojan virus programs onto my computer. One of them was making it impossible to use chrome which is what alerted me to there being an issue. It was their official support, I got to them from outlook. These are the 2 most recent issues I've had with them but far from the only issues. I just don't use or trust them much so I limit what I do with them.
9 days ago I try to log into my computer(which runs windows 10). An automated message appears saying that I have to change my pin, which p#sses me off but I did it. Logged in with the new pin and made a note of the new pin. Comes next day and the new pin isn't recognized, try again with the same result. Press forgot pin, to get a recovery code..problem is I no longer have that number. I have a hotmail address though... I type that in, but unbeknownst to me, the keyboard type for microsoft is different than the keyboard type I normally use, so where I am pressing #, it is typing £ , which I don't see because its a password, rejects it a number of times and locks my comp. Now I call customer support, I tell them the problem, but it seems because I have 2 emails connected to My name and the email for the comp is different to the my profile , ( they can see that both accounts are mine and connected) , they can't give me information about my hotmail account ( the email of which I have not accessed for years). So trying to get into my hotmail account gets locked up too. I fill out a recovery form which has questions about when I opened my hotmail account...then first pet...then the most recent emails I have sent from the hotmail account and the subject...did I mention I hadn't used it for years? Fill out the form and nothing...crickets..the guy I was talking to said that it can take 24-48 hrs...5 days later no email.. I call again, this time I get told by the person...just fill out multiple account recovery forms....same as before...this time I get a reply,basically " we don't think you are you. ". The system is automated...the support staff can't do anything....I fill it out again...sorry, wait 24 hrs and try again because you put in too many forms . So I can't log into hotmail, they can't send me a recovery code... Useless... I was so p#ssed off I didn't recieve todays incident code...
I don't want there new Web search engine, happy with the number 1 but laptop keeps deferring to MS crap BING US Crap content, ill lodge a compliant with the regulator when i find time the the arrogances of MS in no FAQ how to switch this off is mind boggling, bring back humans as MS bots are clueless In gest Im saying the day of the machines but if Bing is anything to go buy were safe for years to come.
Can see why Microsoft only gets one star, their customer support is non existent and won't even give out any complaints procedure. Called thier billing team 3 times last time lasted 1 hour and was cut off. This company has gone down hill.
Completely trash, they never give you a direct answer. If you even get a response that is. They lie about when stuff should arrive. They lie about how far stuff is in whatever process they think they have. They are boligerant brokies that can’t even have common human decency.

Run. Run fast. I purchased a surface laptop, it got ruined and they offered me a discount to re-purchase so I did. Within the warranty period a hairline crack (which is a known issue w/them) developed so I sent in pictures, they approved the repair and I sent my device back. It was delivered but I never received any update. I eventually contacted them and they found the laptop, told me they wouldn't fix it as it was listed under the wrong serial number (the rep logged the case, not me). I asked them to fix this vs. their solution of sending it back and then mailing it back again to them as I had a digital class I needed it back for. I asked to escalate the issue as I kept being asked for information that wasn't necessary. Finally, the issue was escalated and I was asked to give 24 hours to review. Well, days passed, I asked for updates to 3 different people and couldn't get any. I emailed them another 3 ways and received no response back. I informed them I needed a laptop and if no one was going to get back to me I would have to go and purchase another or withdraw from the class and push out graduation. Still, no response. A full 7 days later I eventually bought a new laptop as Microsoft didn't respond at ALL to any of the 6+ emails from me (they don't/wont provide a phone number either) as I had no idea if I would ever hear from them again. I then logged a complaint with the BBB. I then heard back from them and that was it. The BBB kept getting responses from them for me to work with them directly but it's been several weeks, several emails and still no response from Microsoft. Best Buy employees warned me of their horrible service but having loved my first surface I didn't listen and I purchased it again. Never again will I ever purchase another Microsoft product after this experience. I still haven't received an apology or an email back from them. Horrible company that doesn't stand behind their product and hides all failures of their employees.
