I was refused registration with MILES despite having a valid German driving license and living legally in Germany.

The reason given was that my German residence permit card is technically expired. However, Ukrainians under temporary protection (§24) have their legal status automatically extended. This is a well-known administrative situation in Germany: the physical ID cards are often not renewed for years, even though the legal status remains valid.

What makes this particularly unreasonable is that I already hold a German-issued driving license, which required full identity verification and passing the German driving exam.

It is disappointing that MILES ignores the legal reality and instead applies rigid internal policies that effectively exclude a group of legally residing people. Policies like this raise serious concerns about fairness and equal access to services.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. If you cannot find a parking spot and you have to park in a parking garage and even pay the ticket for 48h that someone can drive out they still add you a 100€ fee. Answer in regards of now parking available „not our problem“

No help and Arbitrary account suspension

We were traveling in Germany, when we looked for the car service, as the buses didn’t work. First of all Mikes customer service could not help with the verification of my drivers license. They got back only five days later.Even worse, they arbitrarily suspended my account after the fact, saying that my documents were false, even though they are official documents from the Danish state. And they wouldn’t give me a clear or specific reason why that was. No help was offered when I complained about this.

Lack of customer support and bad UI

The Miles interface is not user-friendly and led me to unintentionally purchase a yearly subscription instead of a monthly one. Upon realizing this, I contacted Miles immediately. Five days have passed without any response whatsoever.In parallel, the Miles team had no issue asking me to rate their response regarding a dirty car, which makes the lack of acknowledgment on a billing issue even more frustrating.The concept and the rest of the application are genuinely good. Unfortunately, the extremely poor customer service overshadows these strengths and has made me regret using the service in the first place.
