EDIT: shocking company who made me write a positive review just to get a slightly better offer. Avoid at all costs. See below edit which I had to write just to get the money sent. EDIT: Having declined two offers of £510 and £525 I got a call from Sam who explained their processes for checking the phones and made me an improved offer on the phone. Although not the £685 quote that was given on the website it was improved and half way between original and first offers. A little disappointing not to receive more but not worth the hassle of paying £10 extra to return and then go to a large retailer for £610 trade-in.
Do not use this company. They pretend your phone is broken when they receive it and will not communicate with you in writing - so there is no proof of their false claims that there are faults with the phone. Read the reviews to see how they operate, don't be fooled by the 5 star rating like I was. If you do send a phone, film it working, film it being packed, cover yourself with evidence because you will need it.I still can't get my autistic daughter's phone back from them. Absolutely disgusting.Updated to say I received my phone back today. It works just fine. Make of that what you will.Update since their reply… There are no connectivity problems, it’s not locked to a network. It has, however, returned with a scratch it didn’t have before.After phone box harassing me for a week with phone calls, emails and WhatsApp messages asking me to speak to them, they offered me £200 to remove my review.I will be going to Trading Standards with all the evidence.
This is a scam company. They take your phone then call to say it is broken, in my case saying there is no network or wifi connectivity which is a complete lie. Their 'solution' is to ask if they can open it up. I said worked fine before it was sent, so they've broken it and their response is "We have CCTV", like that proves anything. I asked for the CCTV and they say they can't share it due to GDPR, they just keep lying.I've asked for it back and it's now being held hostage as they will not send me an invoice for the £10 ransom fee and will not confirm in writing what the apparent fault is with the phone. Instead they send you bank details demanding a bank transfer. They're in a no win situation now, I'm going to the small claims court if the phone is returned broken, if it comes back working it proves the scam. I can prove the phone had no connectivity problems before it was sent because it was used to make phone calls then switched off until they switched it back on.
I wouldn’t recommend for trade in, hugely undervalued even with the issues raised with the phone. Had 2 other valuations but went with this company due to the high estimate ( definitely reeled me in!). Then there was a back and forth of offer and counter offer until we landed back at a reasonable valuation. I assumed I would be offered a fair price from the get go and not have to barter for 4 days. Staff were friendly but it left a bad taste. Wouldn’t recommend.
I left a poor review after receiving a lower price for my phone, they have called me and after discussing have agreed to pay me a closer price to what I initially expected. It’s not the full original price it’s half way between what I wanted and what they offered. I’m pleased that they sorted this out as I didn’t want the hassle of having to sell my phone again. ———————————————————-Disgusting I agreed to sell my excellent condition iPhone 12 Pro for a price of £255. I paid to send it recorded delivery so that I could make sure it got there. I today have received an email offering me £80!!!!! What a joke. They are saying that the battery is poor and therefore they can only give me £80!!! It’s an absolute joke!!! I tried to call them but I can’t get through and there is no facility to leave a message. Do NOT use this company they are complete jokers!!!
You expect a little to be knocked off. But they went from 440 to 125 due to normal wear and tear and the number of battery cycles (number of times it has been recharged) of course the phone had been charged!! When I refused they increased thier offer twice. Doubling thier original offer but still half the original quote. Don’t be tempted by what you see on the comparison sites. I’ve sold many second hand phones and never been knocked down so much.
It was good to do business with phonebox. I was in touch with Sam who told me about the issues I had with my phone while trading-in. Sam sent me the videos and photos of the issues and showed me how much it would take to fix the phone. We had a detailed conversation and ultimately we agreed to a price of trade-in. I recommend Phonebox as they offer transparency and send you evidence of issues.
Recorded the condition of my as per the guidelines and was offered £200. Sent phone in then they pick fault with everything and changed offer to £25 a joke. I rejected this and they came back with £50 again rejected offer. They then took ages and phoned trying to make another offer I said I was not interested and they could offer me the original price and I would not sell my device now. Then took another couple of days to arrange return of my phone which cost me £10, which I did know about. On getting my phone back sold the phone to Mazuma for £170 in 3 days and they could not fault the device. AVOID THIS COMPANY
I would highly recommend Phonebox, they are so different to other companies, clearly very knowledgeable, gave me some great advice on future phone models, didn’t quite meet the quote was just under but they explained to me why and its fair the counter offer they made.
Twice I've tried to sell a phone through this website, and twice they have lowballed due to defected iPhone despite it being immaculate. Weird how they increase their offer by so much after you deny their first lowball.Use other sites.
