They lure you in with a good offer to buy your old phone, only then to claim it has a number of faults such as the camera not working, despite it was fine the day before. First offer was £364, then once checked it dropped to £189, which i refused. Come back with a second offer of £214, which i also refused. They then called me to work out a deal to buy the phone off me, which we did in the end and i cannot fault them for that, but just be very careful and never accept a lower first or second offer.
Be very careful, do not accept the first quote you have been given they will dramatically low ball you. Also don't take the second. On the third time they will call you to discuss to see if they can increase the price. It will still be lower than the amount you were promised, up to you if you would like to go ahead. Just be aware.
They initially offered £423 for my device, but after inspection, the final offer was £245, a significant drop. While this felt much lower than the initial quote, they are a legitimate company and do pay the agreed-upon amount.However, their customer service team contacted me and thoroughly explained the reduced offer, detailing the necessary replacements. They pointed out potential microphone degradation due to wear and tear, even mentioning possible issues from shower use – something I hadn't considered as I hadn't noticed any problems before sending it. Impressively, they offered to absorb the labor costs and added an extra £27 to the revised offer to improve my experience. Overall, their service has been excellent.
Scam company, do not use. Gave them a brand new refurbished phone, 360 was agreed. They then claim it had lots of defects including outer cosmetic which is impossible as it was unused. They then charge 10 pounds to send your device back to you. Scam company, do not use by any means
sent of my phone and at first the offer was not what i was expecting which is fair enough because it is a business decision and opinion can vary based on how we all see things. I requested the return of the phone and was told about a postage fee of £10 have to admit i did not expect that as when i requested the pack directly via the website and read the leaflet with the pack there was no mention to it (even though i was informed its in the terms and conditions of the website but be honest no one reads them) having used other tech buying companies i was not expecting the return cost and when they called to see if a deal on the phone was possible i stated i still wanted return and would pay the fee but while i accepted it i was not happy about it. To make a long story short after a conversion a good value deal was struck and im happy with how i was listened too. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants to sell phones but if you have experience with any other company that buy phones don't make the mistake of assuming things would run in the same way. Always best to do what i did not do which is read the Terms of usage on the website. However the more you know the less issues you face in advance.
Sold my phone using phone box, there was a few issues but they were quickly resolved and I was very happy with the final outcome. Outstanding customer service and received payment quickly. I would now recommend and use this company again.
After receiving an initial offer which I thought was too low, I have since spoken to a number of staff at customer services who have been more than helpful and I’ve come away with an offer I am happy with. The customer services team went above and beyond to ensure I walked away happy.
Phone box was efficient and fast. However I had a refurbished phone sent from insurance which was in pretty good nick and they dropped the quote from £256 to £200 due to a faulty microphone not working. I complained and they did take the time to call me straight away and explain and removed the labour cost. So 5* due the to efficient customer service.
Having read several poor reviews about initial offers being drastically reduced, I decided to persevere with the sale on the basis that I knew the 2 phones that I was selling were in immaculate condition, with casing and screens having been protected throughout their life, and as such I felt confident that my phones met the description required. How wrong was I! Apparently there were internal faults that "wouldn't be noticed" unless you had the equipment that Phonebox had. I rejected the first offer, and this was then increased. I rejected the second offer as well, and then was told that the employee I was speaking with, would personally increase the offer from his own pocket. At this point I weighed up the revised offer against the offers that others had made, plus the fact I would need to pay £10.00 per phone for their return. With the hassle factor added in, I decided to accept these offers. So I received £480.00 instead of the original £672.00 offered on the website. I will never deal with this Company again. They lure you in, by offering over-inflated prices, and then eventually after smore than one revised offer, you will receive something more in line with their competitors' offers. I have been selling two year old phones to similar companies for a number of years now and have never experienced a transaction as poor as this one.However payment was fairly swift, once the sales were agreed, hence the exrtra star awarded.
