I have been a member for many years attending aqua and chair exercises. But booking aqua classes recently has been very difficult and I have been put on a waiting list frequently. Is this due to the NHS referrals taking priority over members? Surely to retain membership personnel they should be given priority over the NHS referral personnel. Many are unhappy with the current set up, and even thinking of withdrawing membership and moving to other centres.Unhappy member.
It has recently been decided to increase the number of students in the Adult Swimming Classes to 8. This was a regrettable decision. A single instructor cannot provide the necessary amount of monitoring, encouragement and support to 8 adults. What has been forgotten is many adults cannot swim due to a stressful experience in their youths. We depend on the encouragement which an experienced tutor can only provide to a smaller group.
Sharon the trainer for Aqua Hitt is very good , my husband and I really enjoy her class. Her instructions are very clear and the music is well matched to the exercises. She is mindful of people's abilities but encourages the class to work hard to gain the best benefit of the exercises.
Waltham Abbey, leisure centre. Had an amazing class last night with cover teacher Pat. Such a shame she is being given very little chance to cover more classes, this trainer is in club of top trainers with Radka and Nicola, these women are amazing trainers and yet they have to fight for classes! Maybe management can look at giving these 3 Trainers the credit they deserve and let’s see Pat covering more classes at the Waltham abbey leisure centre!
Lane swim sessions are usually okay but I'm pretty sure it's not legal for the company to advertise and offer on the app for 64 spaces per lane swim session when there is physically not enough space in the pool for 64 people. There is space for about 12 people per session at most. Yesterday I payed for a session and there were three people sharing lanes on each end and sometimes 2 people sharing lanes in the middle the entire 1 hour session, so I couldn't get in the entire hour and was robbed of £8.20. If you book for a 1hr lane swim session you should get a lane for an hour; anything else is just a scam. Also there was another issue a different time with the shallow pool being completely out of order so no one could get in and in that situation people should be automatically given a refund but I've had to both call and email multiple times and they make it as difficult as possible to get a refund. The company just has some shady money-grabbing practices.
Online timetable is confusing for customers, should show when the pool is closed for lessons as you’d assume nothing on this means you can swim. The assistant I must say was polite, empathetic and helpful when dealing with the situation. (Even trying to cheer up my children who were upset)A supervisor however got involved, I’m unsure why as he didn’t need to - and just made the situation worse showing no empathy, and when I suggested it could be better displayed online said “I don’t look after that”I’m sure, “thanks for your feedback, I’ll pass that on and it may help other customers have a better experience in the future” would have been better.
Have been attending the gym at Fairfield for a couple of years, always clean and always staff around to help with any questions you may have. I have recently taken out a membership for my sister here too and Wendy was so helpful at getting this set up for her, went the extra mile to help explain everything! Thank-you!
Excellent value. Really nice and helpful staff. Looking forward to the opening of the new gym. Hopefully people will be less obsessed with their IPhones whilst training and not hogging the new equipment whilst watching TicToc! Great the yellow wrist band policy is being enforced in the sauna and steam room!
