Terrible customer service

I have ordered from RJ Living before and I was satisfied with the products received. The issue is when there is a problem with an item, in my case a sideboard costing over $2000, and you need help from the Customer Service, that is when it turns into a nightmare and that is the reason why I will never shop again with RJ Living.Order placed on: 27 January 2025Money taken from my account: 28 January 2025Damaged Sideboard received: 19 February 2025Reported issue to RJ Living: 19 February 2025RJ Living agreed to send a replacement: 10 March 2025Asked for full refund, because RJ Living cannot provide a date of when I will receive a replacement: 29/03/2025Two months after taking my money I still do not have a sideboard that I can use. If I am not receiving a refund next week I will request a Credit Card chargeback and report RJ Living poor standards of service to the Office of fair trading and to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.It's very clear that RJ Living does not value its customers and their satisfaction, and it's not acceptable that a company can operate in this way especially when they advertise hassle free returns. I can guarantee that this experience has caused significant inconvenience, frustration and waste of time.

Beware

Beware. RJ Living (as referred in other posts) is quite appalling to deal with when it comes to faulty products. Two months , 24 emails, 4 phone calls and still yet to have the faulty product picked up/returned/refunded. We loved the product- but it had a safety defect which we explained, photographed, videoed and sent to RJ (twice). They in turn would not accept responsibility for the product they were selling. "We'll contact our supplier" and let you know. Sorry RJ please take responsibility for the products you market. RJ said the supplier saw no fault with the product. An electrical fault is a safety issue. There should be no questions asked. Market expectation (and consumer law) requires a return policy to be effected in a timely manner. Most online sales businesses have a 24 hour turnaround on products whether 'change of mind or return due fault'. They don't treat their customers with the sense of 'disbelief' and delay that we have experienced. After several attempts to have the product returned, a courier turned up to collect the faulty product. Unfortunately the return post form sent to us by RJ was unable to be activated by the courier. So again, back in contact with RJ to organise another return postage label. We then received another email advising us that the supplier found no fault with the product. A merry-go-round. At that point I contacted the supplier myself and got an after hours email response to my enquiry about the product in question. Very reassuring.But should I have had to do the follow up ? RJ- there are plenty of highly efficient and alternate online businesses who retain customers with outstanding customer service. The delay procedures, the questioning, the miscommunication, the multiple people handling this 'simple return' who don't seem to have liaised with one another is troubling. In the end we have a replacement product which we like...but the poor experience will be what is remembered. Pay Pal and Fair Trading would have a field day with this situation.

Quality Product, Excellent Service!

I rang RJ living with some questions regarding the My Stamp side table. The lady I spoke to was extremely helpful and prompt with answering a number of emails. The side table arrived promptly and being well packaged, its condition on arrival was perfect. The table is well constructed and a beautiful design.

Ordered a side board several months ago…

Ordered a side board several months ago that was listed as ‘in stock’. Received an email saying it was going to be dispatched in 2-3 business days. Months on, still no side board. Was told that ‘it was still on the ship’ and I’d get a further update. Have received no updates. Now 2 months on and still waiting for my ‘in stock’ item. Avoid this retailer

Poor experience

Poor experience. Ordered a Christmas gift for a family member visiting for a short period of time. It is now 10+ days past the delivery timeframe and I have missed the window to give them the gift leading to the embarrassment of having to explain. I have raised multiple requests through Shippy and RJ living site and still no ETA.

BEWARE FAKE REVIEWS

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!RJ Living is unethically bribing customers to delete their bad reviews or write fake ones. Like many other unhappy customers, I had a shocking experience with delivery and customer service recently, so I gave them a deserved 1 star Google review. Today I received the following email from James at RJ Living, offering to pay me $150 to delete my Google review. I have chosen not to accept this bribe so others might learn to stay clear of this unscrupulous business!From: RJ LivingDate: Thursday, 5 December 2024 at 3:01 pm"In exchange for removing/amending your review. I would like to offer an additional $150 partial refund via your original payment method. If you would like to go ahead, please reply after actioning our request and we can process it on our end asap." Great products, horrific service

The absolute worst customer service and communication I’ve ever encountered.I ordered a lounge in early September, in the Sydney showroom, and confirmed my date for delivery on the spot.In the lead up to the delivery date, there was ZERO communication, until I reached out to confirm a delivery time. I was then told that their warehouse was closed for relocation and they’ll be in touch once they have a delivery date. At no point was this relayed to me when purchasing in the showroom, and at no point was this communicated to me after my order.After following up almost daily, I was offered a gift card for the hassle, which was appreciated, lounge finally arrived 3 weeks later, but it doesn’t stop there.I used the gift card on 4th October and 7 weeks later, still no delivery in sight and not a single update.It’s such a shame that their products are so good because I can’t, in good conscience, recommend RJ Living to anyone.Would leave zero stars if I could.

Non existent delivery

Made a sizable order ($7k+) in early August - most items due for delivery within 7 days. I still haven't received my order. Nor have I received the $150 refund they offered me due to inconvenience.

Dodgy practice

The day after it was delivered, I decided to return a rug that I purchased for my apartment as it didn’t go well with the existing furniture. It wasn’t a cheap purchase even though I found the same product elsewhere. RJ living offered over $250 for me to keep the rug but I said I had no need for it. So they confirmed they only accepted returns at their warehouse in Keysborough. I was instructed to take it there. So I drove an hour to this warehouse with the unused rug that I wrapped in glad wrap. Not in the original packaging but with the label in tact. I handed it to someone driving a forklift as there was no office or reception and they didn’t provide paperwork. Instead, I took a photo which I emailed to customer service. After the fact, I was told that they could not provide a full refund as it wasn’t in the original packaging. They charge 25% and called it restocking cost. Other reputable retailers allow for change of mind and provide refund. Clearly not the case with this dodgy mob.

Appalling Service

I ordered four stools on 24 June and have been continually misled on when I can expect delivery. I've been told they had arrived in Melbourne and were waiting transportation to Sydney, and the following day that they were still stuck on a shipping container. It is now 1 Nov and I still don't have an ETA. I paid 50% upfront, and as compensation for having to repeatedly deal with people who actually have no idea about the transportation of their product, they are offering me a $150 refund or $188 store credit, which I would be very loathe to use.
