Shopify is riddled with fraudulent stores.This is not a new problem.When made aware of such offences, the staff reply with boilerplate responses that promise much by the way of action - and then they deliver nothing.This is not a new problem, either.If you're a purchaser, avoid. Find somewhere reputable.If you're a merchant, avoid so you don't get tarred with their brush.
Your "free template: SWOT Analysis Template" is a big joke! I can't believe you dare to call that a template! Anyone can draw 4 boxes and label them as "Strengths", "Weaknesses", "Opportunities" and "Threats".I do not recommend anyone to waste their time to download it.
I would give them 0 stars if I could. Apparently Shopify is full of scammers, using their platform, to sell items that will never arrive to you. And they don’t care about that. They allow them to use their platform like nothing is happening. I have been complaining about echo-mist.com powered by Shopify for over a month now, telling you that these scammers are robbing people, using real reviews stolen from Amazon, under different names. What else do you need, shopify? You said you will look into this... but you haven’t done anything AT ALL. That store should have been suspended the moment you received a flag about it. But no, you let them continue selling and taking money from people, but you know why? Because of course, this is how you make money as well, who cares if a seller powered by you is a ghost stealing money, as long as your profit comes in, let them be. Shame on you. And your response, that you cannot do anything about it... really? Perhaps you could remove them from using your platform and your tools? Stop them from stealing money from people! That’s what you can do!!!!!
Please be extremely careful.I opened a Shopify account back in 2018 and have been trying to cancel it since 2019. It is impossible to get hold of anyone - there are of course no phone numbers, the support email address that once existed has disappeared. The closest I can get to help is being sent to a screen with FAQ (frequently asked questions). I have followed the, what would appear to be, simple instructions to freeze my account but they will not allow me to delete it totally. I’ve been in a battle with getting refunded for unauthorized charges for the last two years. Every time I have to provide evidence of my cancellation email that Shopify sent me, before AMEX refund me the charge and then go after Shopify to reclaim the money. Every few months the charges start reappearing on my statement and I have to go through the whole process again. Shopify clearly make it almost impossible to speak to a human or make an email address available for support - it’s all automated.I have seen that the forums are FULL of people who have experienced exactly my situation.In the end Amex had to block them totally, but this has caused issues for me using any other company that uses the Stripe payment method. Please proceed very carefully. Consider wiz or any other merchant with a human available if you need support.2 years of this mess and hours of providing evidence of unauthorized charges .
Was persuaded to move my businesses online shop to Shopify by an agency we were working with. Paid thousands to get it setup, had to manually migrate all our data from OS Commerce but was told we’d see many gains for the business.Within 2 months of going live the monthly costs were getting bigger as we needed lots of 3rd party add ons to achieve pretty basic functionality. Our organic search results had also nose-dived, our agency at the time (who had forced us to move) claimed due to the pandemic but I have since discovered this was purely down to Shopify’s SEO capabilities and our agency not doing basics correctly. We parted ways with them, but then Shopify turned off telephone support so we were left paying a lot more and with no support and poorer results. Was a total disaster.We have now switched to a UK platform and will never go back to Shopify - don’t believe the hype.
