Lousy customer support and terrible service

Our web host sold off part of their portfolio to these people and our email and website have been down now for 24 hours and we're told there is only online support. We're on our sixth support tech - having spent most of last night and today online with support...... when we asked for a supervisor - we were they were all busy and if we gave them our email - they would contact us via an email support ticket!!!! I really don't think these people listen, our email is down due to their lack of due care and attention. As soon as we can - we will be looking for another company!

Forced migration of 23 websites from IXWebhosting to site5. Numerous problems including email not working, website being hacked. Terrible customer support from india on chat - where they are unable to solve problems and keep delaying fixing of websites.

NO STAR to Site 5

NO STAR. I was a satisfied customer of IXwebhosting since 2006 until my hosting account was moved to the Site5 service. Since then I started suffering from troubles with my websites and businesses. First, after migration there were lots of issues with not working websites, I had to spend hours and days in live chat support, mostly with senior admins. I had lot's of tickets and it lasts a month and everytime somebody tried to resolve the issue it goes worse. For example, we've lost all email archive (5 to 10 years old) on 4-5 addresses during the transition to the Site5 and we've created ticket asking to restore all emails. I'm very skeptical about any IT company in India, but what they are doing in frontline support serving Site5 customers - it's a nightmare, you can read many of reviews on the internet. They just ruined my business, my customers left me because of a broken website and I can't do anything about because somebody continuously making mistakes while serving customers on Site5. Furthermore, they broke 4-5 my main emails and I can't access now! That's the end of the story, will go to another hosting.

Extremely Poor Service.

Extremely Poor Service.I too am an ix migrated account. The real problem I have is that one of my websites it completely down. Their resolution was this. "I have reset the DNS for your domain xxxxx.xxx. It will take 406 hours for the propagation. After that it will work fine." For those of you that know how to math, that is almost 17 days. Not really a good answer for your entire website being down. Absolutely horrified that I have already paid for this account to July of 2020.

Very disappointed with their support

Very disappointed with their customer support service. my websites have been migrated to Site 5 without my choice, I have issued with logging in - I have no idea that my email SMTP and FTP details have changed, where is the information and their support is a big JOKE. I am going to look for other host.

Website hacked after migration - Avoid at all costs!

Terrible beyond believe. I have been forcefully migrated to site5 due to them buying out IX Hosting (no one asked me I wanted to migrate to them, they just did it and then notified me), and as result my website has been hacked and I'm experiencing redirect to all types of deceitful sites. Support hasn't been able to sort this issue for a whole week. I have paid until the end of this year, but I will move to a different host as soon as they disinfect my site (if they ever).

Site5? It cant be a hosting company, must be a fraud

Last week my websites were moved to site5 from hostexcellence.com as site5 have bought them out. Everything stopped working since then. There customer service just keeps on raising tickets. They are so crap that they dont even know how to run/fix a perl script, how to give permissions etc etc etc and i dont have access. Unfortunately I renewed hosting service with hostexcellence 3 weeks back for next 2 years and iam still in old billing cycle. Still they are not willing to refund me for next cycle(which have not even started yet.). My websites have not worked for a single day since i moved to them and i cant see them working for next few months atleast as there are errors in every step and their servers dont seem to set up to handle anything and on top of that the customer service does not know what to do about it. If anyone is trying to take legal action against them then please let me know and i will join.

Absolutely Unreliable - Don't walk, RUN AWAY!

I was happy with Site 5 until they were purchased a couple years ago. Service and support were not that great for the first 2 years but they were so cheap, I put up with it. But now, the servers go down at least once a month, they no longer have a phone number so all support is through chat or online tickets. The chat support sessions are a solid hour of idiots that have no idea what they are doing and eventually just fill out a support ticket for follow up by another support admin. The support tickets are usually 24 hours before I get a response and can take a week to resolve. My VPS has gone down every single day for the last 3 weeks. I can't get the files off of the server because it is down so frequently. I've had site 5 just randomly change MX records from local host to remote host - without permission. It is a real nightmare. I've lost clients over their incompetence an down time. I don't usually take the time to share online reviews, but Site 5 is so terrible, I feel a responsibility to warn others - it is really, really, really terrible hosting.

Worst Hosting Server / Client Support

Everything has been transferred to another hosting server, and to siteground, and since has been working fine. Least to say, site5 is a horrible hosting site. It took siteground less than 24 hours to fix what site5 tried to fix within 6 days. I had been using IXWebhosting for over 15 years, and everything was working fine, until IX had to close down. I was informed that IX would transfer all our sites to site5, but this is not by choice. Five of our sites took over 5 days to remedy to find out from both helpdesk ticket agents, and live chat individuals, that they were not able to fix the problem, until at day 6, I decided, enough is enough, I will change all my business to siteground. The live chat were not able to fix the nameservers, and their client login, would not allow you to change your own nameservers, until you contacted them to unlock your accounts. We were out of business (literally) for 6 days until someone within their 'senior technicians' were able to fix the problem, which was because after the migration, the .htaccess was incorrectly pointed. It should not take any company over 72 hours to fix this problem, least to mention over 6 days. We are entirely not happy with site5, and have since changed our business to SiteGround, and perhaps you should also consider this when looking for a hosting client. Also, because they do not have a refund policy, I am now stuck with over $300 worth of money with site5, which means that I would need to at least have all my domains renewed with them, even if I were not to use their hosting servers, because they would not give me a refund due to this was being transferred by IX Webhosting.
